THIS THREAD IS FOR DISCUSSING EP 2, INCLUDING SPOILERS. READ NO FURTHER IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS. GOT THAT? SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

QUITE, QUITE SURE? YOU REALLY WANT TO DISCUSS SERIES 6, EPISODE 2?

OK. I think that should be enough.

Right. R B - greatest TV villain of all time? I didn't see that coming!

OP posts:
EverySongbirdSays · 06/05/2016 00:07

Yeah Summer is still going. Could be that they havn't shown him because they showed 2 dragons AND Ghost in that episode. The CGI is expensive to do IIRC

ILikeToClean · 06/05/2016 00:15

True everysongbird - didn't think of that Smile!

CaptainWarbeck · 06/05/2016 00:23

I'd forgotten about Arya's wolf dreams, argh I might have to go back and reread the books!

Sooo how spoilery is this thread? Are we discussing long ranging theories ie how it all ends and who various prophecies are about or keeping to the episodes?

EverySongbirdSays · 06/05/2016 01:17

The way it's been so far I've said:

I think this but it's based on the book but maybe it's a spoiler so....

and everyone's been TELL!!!!

I think there's a difference between knowns and unknowns. Like if you KNOW for definite what Ramsey's gift actually is then THAT is a spoiler, but if you THINK something will turn out a certain way based on theories both general and your own that's ok.

If in serious doubt put out a spoiler check and see if people are ok with it???

NuggetofPurestGreen · 06/05/2016 01:34

I think we still have 4 live dire wolves and 2 dead (as far as we know) right? So Lady and Greywind bought it but the other 4 are still okay.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 06/05/2016 01:36

I think that's already been discussed but was just thinking out loud!! Wink

CaptainWarbeck · 06/05/2016 02:36

Just watched the trailer for ep 3. I'm totally intrigued as to what they're going to do to test Arya's no-oneness. Something to do with her family or her hitlist maybe??

Ah yes that's a good plan songbird. I've just been boring the pants off DH about Azor Ahai, and who the ice and fire pertains to, and about Lyanna Stark and the next episode being called the Tower of Joy.

I love how the story drops little breadcrumbs throughout for you to pick up on and clues as to what might happen.

CaptainWarbeck · 06/05/2016 02:47

Oops, next episode preview has some flashback to the Tower of Joy but the episode is actually called Oathbreaker.

Middleoftheroad · 06/05/2016 07:11

I do like the flashbacks to the young Ned and Lyanna. As somebody who still isn't past book one yet (please don't banish meme for that, I am still obsessed) I personally love the spoilers and often go on forums to soak up as much as I can so I am aware of the back stories etc. Though it's fascinating to hear about Arya's direwolf. Also, where the hell is Littlefinger? I always thought he and "bitty" Robin have a bigger role to play, with Robin becoming the new Joffray. I bet sniffly Robin's now a lanky teenager like Bran...

Middleoftheroad · 06/05/2016 07:12

Me. Not meme!!!!!

Trills · 06/05/2016 08:02

I was surprised how much older young Lyanna looks compared to young Ned.

But maybe it's only a few years and she has Sansa's height.

gingercat12 · 06/05/2016 08:30

WestleyThank you for the translation.

Where was Ramsay's gift mentioned?

If the next episode is titled Oathbreaker and it is partly Tower of Joy, does that mean Ned broke his promise?

Trills · 06/05/2016 08:41

Brienne's sword is called Oathkeeper...

CaptainWarbeck · 06/05/2016 09:01

Or possibly Jon breaking his oath to the Nights Watch? (which would be fair enough in my eyes, seeing as he died).

Or maybe it will be all of these things, like the last 'Home' episode where it was relevant to lots of characters like Theon deciding to head for the Iron Islands etc.

Alisvolatpropiis · 06/05/2016 09:20

Brieene broke her oath to Catelyn, didn't she?

ZacharyQuack · 06/05/2016 11:29

Jamie broke his Kings Guard oath when he killed the Targareon king.

BonerSibary · 06/05/2016 12:33

The Nights Watch oath lasts until death. Jon has been there, done that. The oath has expired!

gingercat12 · 06/05/2016 12:35

If LSH appears like in the books she would ask services from Brienne that would bring her dishonour.

As we do not know what happened at the Tower of Joy, any number of people could have broken their oaths.

Bloodraven killed a Targ at the Great Council after offering him safe conduct, that is why he was at the Wall.

gingercat12 · 06/05/2016 12:38

The Northern houses may break their allegiance to the Boltons.

Dany will clearly not stay at Vaes Dothrak, as she should.

Margaret? She should appear now. She might break her betrothal.

gingercat12 · 06/05/2016 12:44

Lyanna has likely broken her betrothal.

Rhaegar has broken his marriage wows.

Rhaegar's King's Guard did not protect King Aerys, they left 16-year-old Jaime to protect the whole family.

JeepersMcoy · 06/05/2016 13:28

Who hasn't broken am oath? Confused

On the subject of Theon I was wondering about this going home thing. Is the iron islands his home or is winterfell? After all that is where is has lived most of his life and his farther hardly welcomed him back into the fold. I am wondering if he is going to go back to winterfell to give Ramsey his comeuppance rather than heading to the iron islands.

JeepersMcoy · 06/05/2016 13:31

Gah! So many typos!

gingercat12 · 06/05/2016 13:38

Jeepers Oh, no. I hope he is not going to Winterfell!

Just found out about the Umbers. Am trying not to swear. At least it cannot happen in the books.

A lot of people think 'There must always be a Stark in Winterfell' is also an oath and now broken.

WestleyAndButtockUp · 06/05/2016 13:57

Brienne called her sword "Oathkeeper" after Jamie gave it to her - after he confessed in the tub to being the 'Oathbreaker'.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 06/05/2016 14:27

Oh he's not going to Winterfell is he?? Didn't even think of that.
