What did you think of the ending? I was Shock

According to the people on Style and Beauty, the secret of eternal youth is always taking off your make up before bedtime.

If high-tits Melisandre and getting-on-a-bit Melisandre are too long to type every time, we could abbreviate to HTM and GOABM.

Good suggestion

wickedlazy · 25/04/2016 22:53

Davos doesn't know that Mel burnt Shireen Baratheon to death. I think that's why the last scene seems so unerving and sinister. It wasn't that the red woman made a mistake, she's this lying... thing. If she's as old as 400 years, could she have escaped Valyria before the doom, like the Targaryens did?

Where the feck is Gendry?! (I hope I haven't made that name up...keeping tabs of GoT names is hard.)

Quite liked the episode myself. I'm thinking Ghost is going to be quite important to Jon somehow. And fully agree with the Dornish women. The men were being weak and extremely passive.

Can someone remind me where the dragons went?

Alisvolatpropiis · 25/04/2016 23:00

Was Gendry sacrificed? Am I making that up?

limitedperiodonly · 25/04/2016 23:06

Melisandre wanted to sacrifice Gendry but Ser Davos sent him away in a one man boat

limitedperiodonly · 25/04/2016 23:09

The black dragon - Drogo - carried Dany to safety but only after being savaged by the Sons Of The Harpy in the arena. He crash-landed with her. I think he's revived and flown off.

The red and green ones are still chained in the dungeon in Mireen.

weirdsister · 25/04/2016 23:09

Gendry escaped and rowed off.

wickedlazy · 25/04/2016 23:13

Tyrion is the best person to be in charge of the dragons, he has the most knowledge about them. I just hope what was in the trailer (Tyrion facing the dragon) doesn't turn into what happened to Quentyn Martell in the books.

I know Gendry was last seen rowing off in his little boat but that was ages ago. Yonks.

maggiso · 25/04/2016 23:16

I thought Mel isandra always wore her ruby necklace and that taking it off was a symbolic last act- perhaps she has failed or perhaps her duty is done? I don't know what her 'duty' is.

wickedlazy · 25/04/2016 23:17

Gendry will be okay, hopefully. He's an excellent armourer/metal smith. Unless he is cursed after giving GOABM one. Did they have a shadow baby?

Nah she's taken it off before. Was a bath scene IIRC.

SausageSmuggler · 25/04/2016 23:18

I liked it!
I'm glad someone else thought the Dothraki top 5 was a bit Monty Python.
I do love Brienne too, glad she finally gets to live out her promise.
As for Jon Sneeur... I think he will come back but not sure how.

It also occurred to me the other day that this seasons billboard poster showed a lot of the main characters as masks from the Many Faced God temple. This included Robb and Catlyn Stark meaning that the writers could potentially bring back any character under the guise of a faceless one.

Did anyone else notice the shape of the bloodstain when they lifted up Jon Snow's body from the ground? Ser Davos kind of looked at it as if it was meaningful.
Was it a dragon shape?

wickedlazy · 25/04/2016 23:20

Or that they'll all be dead...

OP posts:
ElderlyKoreanLady · 25/04/2016 23:28

I thought he'd noticed that too weird but I didn't get a good look. I reckon it's Millesandre's doing and has something to do with Jon's continuing storyline.

TheSecondOfHerName · 25/04/2016 23:32

There didn't seem to be much blood left in the snow for a bleeding-to-death incident, although I suppose his clothes could have absorbed some of it. Could M have nicked some of it for nefarious purposes?

limitedperiodonly · 25/04/2016 23:38

I rewound and paused at that too weird. I couldn't work it out but I agree that it was meaningful. Probably.

limitedperiodonly · 25/04/2016 23:41

There's also a current MN thread about things you've overheard when people don't realise you can speak their language.

Dany should definitely be on that thread.

AnnaChronism · 25/04/2016 23:46

I'm one who thinks Jon Snow is coming back from the dead but not for a few episodes yet.
There'll be back story to get through first to understand his resurrection.

lazybones77 · 25/04/2016 23:51

Hmm. It's never been confirmed that Stannis is actually dead. We never saw his body. Could mean that these men who 'come into contact' with M somehow can't die. Maybe. Just a thought.
