You're very cultured orph.

I'm shattered, second night in a row where I've gone to bed before 10. I only stayed up last night to enjoy the sight of Richard Rankin in a towel in Thirteen.

orphan · 22/03/2016 21:42

maddie that's not a very good image either; the real colours are much more intense and pinky. The Monets were impressive cos of size and the almost dreamlike quality. Here's a pic but I couldn't fit the third canvas in the frame (not meant to take photos but everyone had their phones out!)

Yep pixie that's me, cultured and highbrow

Actually, I think I meant 'monobrow' having just looked at the state of my eyebrows...Shock

Ilovelblue · 22/03/2016 22:38

So it's not just sausages and salami orphan that grab your interest? Great colours in that photo and flattered you thought of me.

On a totally different topic, has anyone seen this?

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/2591451-help-me-i-have-a-massive-crush-on-tom-hiddleston

It's very reminiscent of our lustings after a certain BA but I'm not sure we were quite so direct in our postings just before and after episode 5. It is quite funny though.

Ilovelblue · 22/03/2016 23:03

mooj I've given up on the new glasses tonight and reverted back to my old ones. They were beginning to give me a headache. How long did it take you to get used to the new ones?

moojangles · 23/03/2016 00:04

About a week of constant wearing ilove at the most. Never quite sorted using stairs or eating.

BK28 · 23/03/2016 00:41

Just ordered my new varifocals, usually broken in in a week or so. My only issue is coming downstairs, often misjudge it.
ilove that TH thread was totally reminiscent of earlier CJ appreciation! Made me laugh out loud..and on that note great to see you back orph loved the cultural input really up lifting! And don't we all carry magnifying glasses, you never know when you need them! Really admire the fact that you have maintained your level of gymnastic prowess to be able to sustain the
Jeep seats pose while taking a weight for such long periods of time!! Taking one for the team... Great work!!
Mum update...as usual not as straight forward as we hoped...now has a collapsed lung being drained as we speak, so looks like might be kept in for easter! Thanks for all your good wishes, much appreciated!

pixieg1rl · 23/03/2016 07:15

Ha! Loving the TH crush thread. Mind you TH does nothing for me, so it's easy to laugh.

Anyone here going to see Highrise?

Ilovelblue · 23/03/2016 07:43

I didn't read the whole TH thing, just the first and last pages but it would seem somebody has admitted fancying George Osborne and another one Vladamir Putin!

It is soooo reminiscent of our BA adoration but I can read it a bit like pixie with a level of detachment.

Sorry to hear your Mum hasn't recovered as quickly as you'd hoped BK. What caused the problems in the first place?

MaddieMoo82 · 23/03/2016 10:01

Morning. The 'get out of the house quickly' routine all went a bit wrong this morning so no time to post so abusing work wifi now!
Sorry to hear things with your mum aren't so straightforward bk, hope the chest drain makes her more comfortable.
orphan that monet looks amazing! 3 canvases. Looks big! Definately didn't need your magnifying glass for that one!
Enjoyed reading a bit of the TH crush thread ilove, I like him but I don't think I'm quite at the CJ level and wanting to post about it!!! Grin

Bloody lovely weather again, want to go down to Cornwall for the day on Friday but knowing our luck it won't be as nice!

Have a good day all. Smile

KellyHb · 23/03/2016 10:17

Morning all.

Sorry not been on much last couple of days but had a manic week so far. We've had poorly tummies and a twin has had a terribly bad chest and overnight so not much sleep was had. Good job I'm a bit of a night owl anyway. We've managed without going to hospital overnight. See how he goes today.

Hello orph!! Oo I love your painting pics. I love Monet. He's my favourite of the impressionists. I've got a couple of his paintings up in the living room/dining room.

Sorry to hear things aren't straightforward for your Mum bk but hope there's a quick improvement. Flowers

Somehow I've managed to arrange a weekend away to York in a couple of weeks time with a friend. If I don't get a break from the kids I think I'll go insane. Confused The train tickets were pretty cheap too and we're just staying in a Travelodge so I'm looking forward to that.

pixieg1rl · 23/03/2016 11:36

Going halves on a Travelodge with someone special Kelly Wink?

Sorry to hear about poorly kids and mothers all round. Everyone needs to get a bit better for Easter, OK?

Last day at work for a while for me, must crack on. I've got distracted by clearing out my inbox, it needs doing now it's in 4 figures, whoops.

MaddieMoo82 · 23/03/2016 11:50

Ah that's sound great kelly probably just what you need to get away for a couple of days Smile

KellyHb · 23/03/2016 12:41

Doh, I've only just twigged about the Travelodge/OG connection Grin. Well if it was CJ I was going with, I certainly wouldn't be wasting any time looking round York put it that way. Grin

Hope your last day flies by pix. How you getting on with Voyager?

Thanks mads. Hopefully it'll relax me a bit. The kids do like using up all my last ounces of patience at thr moment. My parents are worried about me going away without DH. They're VERY old fashioned in some opinions. They don't believe in going away without your husband as it doesnt look very good and theyre worried about me getting drunk and falling in the river there! I couldn't help but laugh at that last one. Grin

pixieg1rl · 23/03/2016 13:45

Oh Kelly I had to laugh at the getting drunk and falling in the river part. Do you have form on that or something? I don't think York is exactly party central, not compared to Newcastle anyway.

I think a weekend away without husband and kids should be compulsory for everyone. I know I want to do it, I don't care much where I go, I just want to get away from everything for a bit.

I finished Voyager at the weekend, now storming through Drums of Autumn. My house is a tip, my family probably malnourished by now. I'll get to the other end of this in a few weeks I think.

KellyHb · 23/03/2016 14:09

Wowww pix you're storming through. I wish I had your determination!! At this rate your DS will be so desperate for his tea, he'll be knocking at my door asking for it, you're reading so much. Grin

Haha no pix never had any history with drunkeness and rivers. Before I go I'll be lectured about the number of people who visit York and then go missing. Bless the parents. They're born worriers.

pixieg1rl · 23/03/2016 14:51

Well kelly I have form on getting drunk and falling into bodies of water, but not yet never at the same time.

MaddieMoo82 · 23/03/2016 15:03

Ah your parents have made me laugh kelly bless them!

I want a weekend away now! Do you think it matters if I went on my own.....

moojangles · 23/03/2016 16:41

No mads... DH and his Dad & Brother are all going to RIAT n July, I've booked myself into local hotel to avoid them.

KellyHb · 23/03/2016 16:49

Definitely do a weekend away mads if you can. I'll try and win the lottery this weekend and I'll pay for us all to stay in the best rooms at Bailbrook House and have a few posh cream teas with no children in sight!! Smile

Richtea19 · 23/03/2016 17:11

kelly Mr Richtea and I had a weekend away in York before Christmas and loved it. Good for you. Bloody kids drive you mad. Currently sitting with my annoying eldest at the Osteopaths, loudly saying in the waiting room he thinks he has shingles!!! Ahhhhhh !

pixieg1rl · 23/03/2016 18:20

Right who wants to have a child free weekend together?

moojangles · 23/03/2016 18:21

Do dh/manchild count?!

MaddieMoo82 · 23/03/2016 18:38

God that sounds fab kelly! Would your lottery win cover BAs appearance fee so he could join us at bailbrook Smile

Perfect plan mooj. I've been day dreaming all afternoon about how I would spend my night... Pjs, room service, my book and 12 hours of uninterrupted sleep with no snoring... Such a good day dreamSmile. And yes a man child counts Smile

Yes pix if only!

Nickel45 · 23/03/2016 20:11

I would LOVE a night away with no kids and no DH!

My littlies have both been ill this week, so juggling work/kids/school - meanwhile DH is sleeping in the spare room so he doesn't get ill!!! Hmm .... not entirely sure that's fair! although am enjoying a few hours of decent sleep before one or other of the DC come in with me in the early hours! Hope everyone else's kids are getting better. I'd so be up for a night away!

BK how is your mum doing today? So sorry to hear it isn't all going as smoothly as we hoped xx
