Morning, lots of rain here last night too but it's clearer now, blue skies and sunshine. Hope it lasts. Nothing exciting planned here. The family have this strange habit of requiring feeding and expecting me to go out and buy food for them. I was up early so I wish I'd just gone off to the Supermarket at 6.30 and got it out of the way.

Good luck on the navy blue trousers ilove they seem to be a bit like gold dust at the moment. I quite like blue - I guess you do too - but I've found it really hard to find them anywhere or if I have in a style I like.

My younger DD was a bit chuffed yesterday. She entered the BBC 500 word competition and managed to make it to the second round. Apparently they had over 123,000 entries but have whittled it down to 4,500 (that's obviously still an awful lot of entries, mind you!). It's highly unlikely given the odds (and judging by some of the stories I heard last year) that it will make the last 50 but bless her for trying and it was because a teacher at school suggested it, so good on them too.

Suppose I'd better get on. Have a good day everyone!

Morning,

Ooh madds that was a quick birth!

I'm just getting up leaving 2 yo in bed with hubby. It's nice and quiet without 2 children shouting instructions at me.

Morning all Smile
Ah bless your DD rhub that's great just to get to the next round.
No food in the cupboards here either but might save the full food shop till tomorrow and just get a couple of bits today. Good luck with the trousers ilove I'm rubbish when I need specific items, hope you are successful.
Some friends from work are playing a game of bubble football today (bounce around in giant inflatable balls) so might watch with DS if the weather stays dry... But not looking promising. Quiet night whilst MrMads goes to the casino tonight....might need to look into a remortgage tomorrow Shock

MaddieMoo82 · 09/04/2016 08:38

Enjoy the peace ice

Morning!

Madds - I'm glad your s-i-l is well and that the baby arrived safely but what a mistake by the hospital. The hospital were ready to send me home with my first as they didn't believe I was in established labour. When they finally examined me I was 8.5cm and they conceded I wasn't to be sent home but told me it was too late for an epidural Confused. I know a couple of people whose second baby has arrived so quickly they were born with no assistance apart from the father, it must happen more than you think. In fact a colleague of a friend gave birth in the office, having not yet started her maternity leave - I don't think I could have gone back after that!

Kelly - have a fab time in York, I was there on Monday for a day trip, but didn't get much further than the railway museum - I doubt that's in your plan! I was visiting my mum for a few days with just the twins as the older two were away on a school trip/back to uni respectively.

Sorry to gloat but I'm home alone now till tomorrow evening. I have no plans at all, it's lovely! Grin

Ilovelblue · 09/04/2016 09:25

Rhubarb you and your DD must be thrilled. She clearly gets her creativity from you! Just read your latest chapter by the way. Perfect! I will review later. I do love blue of course! How did you guess? Haha.

ice now be honest, if CJ were to be shouting instructions at you, you wouldn't mind that, would you? Grin

icemistOBE · 09/04/2016 10:00

Of course ilove Wink

Mads your SIL's dramatic birth yesterday reminds me of a few eye-watering threads that have been on MN. There was a recent one entitled Melon Head about all the inappropriate things midwives have said at vital moments. Whilst I wouldn't have wanted dramatically fast births I think something under about 18 hours would have been preferable especially getting stuck at 9cm for about 6 hours meaning that just when you're feeling really exhausted and at the end of your tether they decide to beef it all up with a drip! Funny though I always remember my dear late friend who passed away last year telling me how the hospital wouldn't believe she was in labour when she went back the second time and was yelling "the baby's coming" and then recounting how her daughter literally shot out completely in one contraction with the midwives having to make a cricket catch! Still the main thing with all these stories is that everything is well in the end.

Afternoon ladies. I've been rained off this afternoon so that's the end of gardening activities I think. Found my navy trousers in a charity shop so didn't really look too much further and have ordered a pair online from one of my favourite shops as well. If they aren't right, then there were some in Next which were ok, though I didn't have the energy to try them on by this stage.

Been painting some of my garden furniture this afternoon and managed to stash it away in the shed just before it started to tip it down.

Who has caught up with Whajeb's latest chapter? She's excelled herself with this one.

Off to feed my neighbour's cats now. She's on a hen weekend in London. The "group activity" seems to be learning a routine from "Grease". I think I would rather stick pins in my eyes. This is the second hen party for the same bride she's been on. The first was a meal locally about 2 weeks ago but this latest one is a 3 day affair.

Who doesn't? We need to form a disorderly queue!

MaddieMoo82 · 09/04/2016 20:24

Me too. My Saturday night seems incredibly dull in comparison. It would be lovely if one of them could post a scantily clad and tanned BA picture for me to enjoy fully whilst mrmads is not here to peep over my shoulder Smile

Ooh rhub I don't think I want to read those threads! Have had a few friends with very fast birth stories who were told to go away by the hospitals but sil's was def the most dramatic. She is a bit shocked by it all but like you say just happy that everything is well with her and the little guy Smile

Enjoy your empty house always

pixieg1rl · 09/04/2016 20:35

I bet Sean Ward would love to come over here and help me fold laundry and put away DS's toys. Well, in my dreams that is.

Ilovelblue · 09/04/2016 21:01

pixie CJ is here with my in my dreams helping me doing the ironing. Well, he's shouting something about "put some bloody effort in" but I'm not listening really, just gawping at his muscles.

Rhubarb01 · 09/04/2016 21:35

That's it - I want to be young, talented and having a great night out too. It's not fair - lies face down on the carpet beating her fists into the ground and kicking feet

moojangles · 09/04/2016 21:42

I'd go for any of those 3 rhu

cjwoofwoof · 09/04/2016 22:31

pixieg1rl · 09/04/2016 23:11

cjwoofwoof · 09/04/2016 23:15

orphs not here pix so I'm volunteering my forest and taking one from Luke/John for the team. I'm selfless in that way Grin

Alwaysfrank · 10/04/2016 00:32

Is it shameful to admit that I have done absolutely nothing today? I did manage to fit in the entire OG DVD by way of refresher course. I didn't even skip over any non CJ bits!

Looks like a tough job in SA doesn't it?!
