And what a opening chapter it is ilove! Loved the oneShot from Greenstuff too. Really hope she continues to write it

Have managed to get rid of 6yo for the night! He's staying with grandma and grandad, 2 yo unfortunately is not sleeping great at moment so he's staying

It would be great if some more of you accomplished FF writers could pick up on my "Where's Molly?" Challenge The point of it is to offer some possible ideas about how Tony Grounds might deal with the tricky issue of Molly's absence and see how accurate any of us might be when the series is shown on TV.
I'm keen to see whether he keeps her character "on hold." I hope so.
Greenstuff picked up what it was about straight away and I was not surprised that she was the first (and only one, so far) to take up the challenge, which is essentially about writing a one shot. She may, of course decide to develop it.

It would, by the way, be nice to get some acknowledgement of an original idea from time to time!! There's at least one other Antipodean writing Our Girl ff and she's bloody good, too.

Also a lot of our writers have full time jobs, kids off school this week. Ir have things going on in their lives...

It's a great idea and hope more come on board but you need to give them time.

Challenges on other fan fictions often allow a month or two for people to write.

I'm considering it kuia, (well I've got about 500 words down), but as ice said I'm working full time and running about after a 5 year old as well, so writing is not something I have a lot of time for.

I've got 2 or 3 other possibilities which are swirling around in my head so will post some more once they begin to consolidate.
I guess I got frustrated because this quite a different thing from writing great long stories with chapters!

Genius idea kuia & loved your story. I too have an idea of Molly's whereabouts swilling round the gutter of my nut involving another outing for the LLCs but I'm worried about TG suing me for spoiling his storyline and giving the game away...

It's still simmering on my back burner, much like Tom Hiddleston and Uhtred, at the moment, but I may pop something on when the little bleeders aren't being pesky

kuia I'm afraid I only saw your challenge last night and I haven't been on MN for a few days but I did 'get it'. I just I need a bit of time to think of something and a bit like pixie I started idling with a few paragraphs, however, I'm also in the middle of another story and I've had to delay updating because I needed a break as I'm working quite a lot too. However, I will put my thinking cap on and try to join in when some inspiration comes to me. - I don't suppose Molly could have fallen into a time vortex and been transported to another era???? Could I get away with that?

As you say, though, it's a great fun idea and TG might be holding his breath hoping no one comes up with the right answer - however, the one I would really hate is the "It didn't work out" line. Please say you haven't done that TG! they don't have a pleading face to they?

Oh and SPO could do a great little one shot - what if the zombies finally got her? SPO come on if you're reading this you can't miss this opportunity to give Molly her own spin -off series!

Evening all. Thank goodness it's Friday

Haven't had a chance to catch up on all the recent FF but hoping to do so this weekend but loving the vortex idea Rhub

It's been a funny day really. Mrmads sister gave birth to baby number 2 today, a little boy . Bless her, she went into hospital but they told her she wasn't far enough along so sent her home. She got as far as the toilets and knew the baby was coming. She gave birth standing up in the loo and just caught the baby with one hand whilst her husband was frantically looking for help thought my 4 hour labour was fast but she topped it at 90 mins! All is well though and hoping for a cuddle this weekend

This afternoon at work we were all invited to a event looking at the role of the military in our job not a big enough role if you ask me . It's in a couple of weeks and involves a look round the local Royal marine commando barracks, a meet and greet and a presentation. Don't think I'll be able to go as its right on DSs bedtime but will be asking for photos!

Evening everyone. Not sure about Afghan grime but busy scraping soil out of my nails despite wearing gardening gloves. Our charity plant sale is set for mid-May but my friend at work who normally does it with me is in the process of moving house so I'm having to do it on my own this year. Eeeeek. I've been up to my armpits in compost, seeds and cuttings all week. I usually do quite a bit of splitting up in the late autumn and through the winter too but with the awful weather, I got really behind. Had a very late tea and enjoyed the last of my white Riojas I brought back from Mallorca.

A second great update from Whajeb. She's been working hard! Chris Evans would say there should be a mascara warning attached to it. I wonder where she's going to take us?

Have gone and shot myself in the foot by posting a second "theory" about Molly's whereabouts as Chapter 2 rather than a stand alone story. Does it matter? Teach me to complain and rant. Have got some other ideas to come.
Had a horrible thought the other day. I might gonna need to withdraw from Mumsnet for a bit once the series starts in the UK. Don't want to spoil the tension and we probably won't get it for ages! Might ring the NZBC and shake them up.
We are getting Game of Thrones, Series 6 starting on the 25th, same time as the USA.
Outlander 2, Episode 1 will be available tomorrow, Sunday , NZ time at 5.00 in the afternoon. Will be power surges all over Aotearoa.
Still a bit of TH and the Night Manager to go. I swear that man has the sexiest back view, even clothed,on the planet... Like him best as Loki of the black leather, sexy voice and the knowing grin, however.

Morning all. Heavy rain overnight here. Doesn't look as if I can finish painting the fence this morning. What's everyone up to today? I really need to go into town to look for a pair of navy trousers as my current pair has a hole in the top of one leg! I hate having to look for a specific thing because I need it there and then. Much prefer sale shopping! This afternoon it's back to potting and propagating.
