I think leather should be the standard uniform for soldiers. ..... As I live in the middle of Salisbury plain - I am surrounded by them - and if they were in the leather - THAT would be fantastic. .....

MaddieMoo82 · 03/04/2016 15:55

Oh darts how do you get anything done?! Grin

DartsTart · 03/04/2016 16:42

I don't - I just spend a lot of time "walking the dogs" round the training ground GrinSmileWink

KellyHb · 03/04/2016 17:06

Afternoon all.

This school holiday is going past in a blur being busy with kids constantly.

Glad you had a lovely birthday ilove.

Oo lovely pic of Luca darts. Can't wait to see him in combats.

cjwoofwoof · 03/04/2016 18:05

Ooh I'm off dogging to Salisbury with Tartsy tomorrow - just bathing my mongrel in anticipation Grin

moojangles · 03/04/2016 18:07

Evening. In London with DH for a few days. Happen to be staying round the corner from the Olivier awards. Mrmooj insisted we watched people go in. Saw a few Downton people, Bevetly Knight, Mark Rylance & lots of people I need to google!

moojangles · 03/04/2016 18:27

KellyHb · 03/04/2016 19:53

pixieg1rl · 03/04/2016 20:31

Evening all. Just watching JN on the OlivierAwards but I'm not very good on celebrities. He does look rather good in his DJ though.

Had a better day today - tried to forget all the upset from yesterday. Spent virtually all day in the garden and/or painting the fence. Also managed a bike ride so have kept myself well occupied.

What are your plans in London mooj other than celeb spotting at the Olivier Awards?

moojangles · 03/04/2016 23:19

We are doing the full on tourist thing! Did a Thames boat trip and the Eye tonight, really good. Going for a mixture of things like Madame Tussauds but also some museums too and a lot of sightseeing on foot. Utterly exhausted tonight!

Richtea19 · 04/04/2016 07:15

What a lovely few days mooj I live so near London but rarely do any sightseeing stuff. More restaurants and bars!! I crashed out early last night so missed the new bbc drama, although I will catch up sometime this week.

icemistOBE · 04/04/2016 08:38

Off work this week. Have the enjoyable job of clearing out the boys bedroom. Need to get rid of their old toys, toys missing bits etc and go through their clothes too

Need to tackle the ironing mountain too!

OP posts:
Ilovelblue · 04/04/2016 08:56

Can I bring my ironing round to you ice? If you've already got the ironing board out.......?

Ilovelblue · 04/04/2016 16:28

Working from home this afternoon as my new windows were being fitted. I would be useless working from home permanently. Apart from sorting the guys out doing the job, I have chatted to my next door neighbour, taken in a delivery (which I wasn't expecting today anyway), got said neighbour to help me put it together (ok, so he did most of the work, I just made him a cup of tea) and answered a couple of emails. I could not be disciplined enough to work from home. It's a nice afternoon as well - feel some gardening should be done and I can work later!

Ilovelblue · 04/04/2016 16:29

Oh and greenstuff has just finished her story. What a wonderful happy ending. It makes you feel all warm and gooey inside.

pixieg1rl · 04/04/2016 17:11

Back to work for me today. Bit of a slog. Need to corner my manager tomorrow and find out what the options are about my possible redundancy. Fun times.

Ilovelblue · 04/04/2016 17:34

Would you be interested in redundancy if it was of a voluntary nature pixie or will you sit tight to see what happens? I have been through this for the past four years and presume it will rear its head again fairly soon. It's a horrible time and I do feel for you.

MaddieMoo82 · 04/04/2016 17:49

Hello Smile
Monday is my day off but spent the day running around trying to fit in all the things I can't do at the weekend so car service, dog groomers etc. Dragged DS around with me and he is throughly grumpy now!
mooj your London trip sounds fab, hope your feet aren't aching too much.
pix hope the redundancy chat with your boss goes ok.
rich I recorded the new bbc thing undercover last night as knew I wouldn't be able to stay awake but also the new one on itv too, think it's called home fires. Not sure if I'll watch them both, or have time!!

pixieg1rl · 04/04/2016 17:49

I really don't know at this point ilove. It's not very comforting having someone who doesn't really understand my job negotiating over it though.

moojangles · 04/04/2016 17:56

pix, sorry to hear your news, such a big thing to have in somebody else's hands. Everyting crossed for you.
mads, brilliant but exhausting, feet are numb. Off to china town for dinner, wonder if I can find the restaurant from Lucky Man- uf it's really there!

MaddieMoo82 · 04/04/2016 18:01

Ooh yes mooj if you eat there you can imagine BA wiping a bit of prawn cracker off your chin Grin

Ilovelblue · 04/04/2016 18:28

Ditto to that pixie. Our line management system is, or at least was, very strange and I could have potentially been assessed for redundancy by somebody I had not even met. Luckily, I had the foresight to do something about that and managed to get my line manager changed to somebody local. It was almost like Russian roulette.

Gone really cold here now. So much for thinking I could work outside in the garden tonight.

mooj enjoy yourselves. When are you back home again?

Ilovelblue · 04/04/2016 18:49

Oh and I meant to say that one of the chaps who came to fit my new window panes was a slightly fatter version of Mansfield Mike. It did make me smile. Kept calling me "darlin'" as well just like MM. Normally I find that a bit patronising when somebody is so much younger than me, but it rather tickled me this time.

apsara03 · 04/04/2016 19:07

pix that sounds all very unsettling Sad
Hope you're having fun mooj we're staying just outside London for a few days seeing friends. Met up with DHs nephew today and went to fair in Crystal Palace park. Might go into London proper tomorrow though not sure how DH and DSs would make of BA inspired tour Hmm
