Evening all! I know what you mean Ilove about the patronising endearments from people young enough to be your son or daughter. I almost feel like shouting "I'm not in my dotage!" I had a young woman on the phone today who called me 'my love' about five times (it's a west country thing). I actually couldn't help tutting the last time she said it because it really grated on me. I don't mind older people saying it to me at all but I really wanted to say 'I know this is just a bad habit you've picked up but stop it now because it rubs people up the wrong way.'

OK got that out the way - pix I actually happened to hear an episode of the Archers on Thursday evening as I was driving back from dropping DD somewhere and I know what you mean - horrible man. Then this morning they were talking about last night's episode on my local radio station and played a clip - cor dramatic stuff! I'm not surprised that you had to share!

I watched The Durrells last night and found it pretty funny (I remember the BBC version donkey's years ago) but animals on TV wind my dog up so it involved a lot of quick changing channels and sound off/subtitles. Then I watched series 2 of Home Fires which doesn't require too much brain engagement but it's good to see a drama featuring a lot of strong female leads of a 'certain' age.

When I had a new bedroom done about three years ago, there was a problem with it by the time it was supposedly finished and I rang the shop to vent my spleen. The manager kept saying "my love". I was so incensed that I said "I am not your love, I never was and I never will be so stop calling me that!" I think he thought it made him sound "all things to all women" but I was furious. My colleague at the time rubbed his hands and said he wasn't moving till I'd finished wiping the floor with the guy... which annoyed me even more!

I watched Home Fires last night. When the young WRAF was drummed out for dishonorable service, it just made you realise it was one rule for the men and one for the women. I'm glad her father punched the Wing Commander in the face.

Currently admiring Dan Snow. Can we enlist him to commentate on the fireside wrestling?

DartsTart · 04/04/2016 22:04

Is it really bad form of me to pop in and post this? ( sorry have been dogging on the plain.......)

I can't see woof in her wolf fleece or her tartan shopping trolley anywhere. Is she still catching up tart?

MaddieMoo82 · 04/04/2016 22:15

oooh darts! woof was last seen heading for the plain with her well groomed mongrel in tow Grin

cjwoofwoof · 04/04/2016 22:15

Dunno why I'm not in the pic pix but that's definitely my coil flying through the air after some very energetic dog walking with Tartsy and that particular platoon Grin

DartsTart · 04/04/2016 22:44

Shall we not mention what you got up to with the leash and a few of the boys from the platoon woof ?

cjwoofwoof · 04/04/2016 23:43

Best not Tartsy as its a particular party trick to keep up my sleeve in preparation for the intensive annual egg hunt with Manu, Matthias and AT next Easter. I'll probably need the 5m extendable one back that you borrowed too in case the Musketeers arrive unannounced...again

DartsTart · 05/04/2016 07:27

Fair enough woof - puts leash in safe place for the party games -

So excited in fact I had to post twice Grin

Ilovelblue · 05/04/2016 08:25

Morning all. A rude awakening today as one of my cats brought a mouse in at 6am. Not scared of them but couldn't catch the bloody thing and now have no idea where it went. Both cats are now asleep, having completely lost interest in it. Just hope they find it whilst I'm at work.

pixieg1rl · 05/04/2016 09:07

I could have done with your cats this morning ilove. Why is it that DS got up at 6am every day when we were on holiday but decided to sleep now we're back at work?

cjwoofwoof · 05/04/2016 10:49

Poor you pix I'm at the other end of the little bleeder spectrum - middle DS over-indulged in the ol' Kopperberg last night and his room stinks like the Courage Brewery this morning Angry He says "never again" like we all do but his fondness for fruity cider is sure to get the better of him

cjwoofwoof · 05/04/2016 10:54

Ooh yes Tartsy my under stairs Hoover cupboard Red Room parties are the stuff of legend and I always make sure Manu dusts off his studded leather loincloth left over from his Spartacus days, so that extendable lead will come in handy when it comes to stopping his escape Fifty Shades foreplay Grin

Day 2 of my week off and I want to go back to work already!

Evening all.
Knackered. Hate Tuesdays as its my long day. Drop minimads off before breakfast and pick him up right before bed so always feels a bit rubbish. Also am aching, spent most of the day do final assessments on our students. I don't think they realise how stressful it is to watch and mark them... I think I was as nervous as them!! Anyho, if anyone has CJ holed up if they could send him my way for a shoulder massage or any massage!! Shock I would be very grateful!
pix hope your chat with your boss went ok.

pixieg1rl · 05/04/2016 21:54

Sounds like a mad day mads, how's the little one coping?

Discussion with boss slightly better than I expected, but I'm looking at a few months for the process to run its course. Still not really convinced he's thinking about the full scope of things.

Watching the GBBO programme. The services lads seem really nice. Must admit patisserie is not my thing. Give me a big slab of fruit cake and I'm happy.

KellyHb · 05/04/2016 22:12

Evening everyone.

I've been sketchy at posting as I'm in the middle of a MIL visit for a few days and she won't let me rest as we've constantly got to be making the most of every day to take the kids places!! Plus parents are away at a friend's funeral so looking after their cats too.

I go to York on Friday so have got my own jobs to do before then. Never enough hours in the day.

Sorry pix to hear about your job, glad your discussion went better than you hoped. Hopefully you'll get some piece of mind soon about how things will pan out in the future.

MaddieMoo82 · 05/04/2016 22:14

So will you have any input in the process pix or is it all done privately?

Last week was horrible, he sobbed every time we left. Nursery reckon it is a anxiety stage. Today he was fine but he was with my mum and dad so will see tomorrow when he's back there. Nothing I can do but go to work but it doesn't make me feel great especially since had been doing so well up until last week!

MaddieMoo82 · 05/04/2016 22:15

Oh god hope the mil visit goes ok kelly, least you have York to look forward too.

pixieg1rl · 05/04/2016 22:38

Ooh Kelly, didn't know the in laws were up. Hang tight, Friday isn't far off, and then Sunday and OL2!! Eeek! Just don't get pissed and fall in the river Grin

How old is DS now Mads? I was a massive believe in wonder weeks when son was young, and his fussy periods did coincide with them. Be kind to yourself.

MaddieMoo82 · 05/04/2016 22:44

Oh my yes OL2! Have you all got your Amazon accounts set up ready?!
11mths this week pixie, I'm a bit rubbish with when the wonder weeks fit in with him, I'll have to have a look.

Ilovelblue · 06/04/2016 08:07

Your York trip has come round quickly Kelly. Am sure you'll have a good time. How's the MIL visit progressing?

woof do you still have your journal of when CJ paid you a visit when he was on his UK tour last year? Darts would understand about your Red Room then maybe?
