Morning all.
Glad you had a good birthday ilove! Are you still celebrating this weekend? I think you'll have to stick your KJ cd in the car to play Smile
Another fab chapter rhu
So glad it's the weekend! No plans but just nice not rushing around.

Ilovelblue · 02/04/2016 08:38

Going to meet my Mum's cousin this morning over in Yorkshire - she's one of the few relatives I have left! She's a lot older than me. I asked her yesterday if she likes Katherine Jenkins and she does! So she is getting the CD. She loves Lancashire cheese too so I've got her some of that to take over as well.

Pouring with rain here so need to make sure I take my brolly.

Have a nice day everyone, be it wet or dry.

Rhubarb01 · 02/04/2016 19:07

Evening! Gosh quiet day on here. ilove hope you had a lovely birthday yesterday.

Below is a link for a clip from German TV which has CJ and Molly speaking German. I think the voice match for him is quite good! Hope it works, There's a warning on there that it's not recommended for young people (shocking scenes etc) and you need to click on the box that says 'weiter' when it comes up'. It will then play. Enjoy!

Oh and if anyone is bizarrely interested if you click on the diary at the top of the page on that German channel and select the week before (7th April) where you can see a 3 minute clip from the pilot of when Geddings lines all the girls up and walks up and down shouting. There's more of Molly and also her mum and dad. Dave and Belinda sound OK but Molly just sounds too posh!

Lovely pic pixie. It was gorgeous down here in the West Country too, today!

icemistOBE · 02/04/2016 19:22

Thanks rhu will definitely check it out

Currently watching Ant n Dec- such fun Grin

Ooh, I bet that sternface bit in episode 1 when he's in the tent at Bastion is even sterner and more knicker melting in German....

MaddieMoo82 · 02/04/2016 20:17

Oh thanks rhu! I like German CJ very much fans face
Ooh yes pix esp the bit when he's saying about sticking his regulation army boots up a certain place!

icemistOBE · 02/04/2016 20:29

Ooh yes, I could easily listen to German CJ for five episodes!

Lovely afternoon for the beach, pix, took my two out for a nice long walk (wasn't supposed to be!) and they are both asleep, already! Amazeballs! Wondering if I can get away with doing the same tomorrow!

cjwoofwoof · 02/04/2016 21:29

Uncannily I was thinking of a different kind of amazeballs at a German CJ too Nick Blush

Nickel45 · 02/04/2016 21:40

Hee hee!

cjwoofwoof · 02/04/2016 21:47

In fact I think Matthias could shoehorn in nicely to play BA playing a German CJ, despite being Belgian.

Btw, just watching Jurassic Park and finding I like this Chris Pratt's lego--ness very much indeed. Who is he?

Evening all. What a strange day I've had. I met up with my Mum's cousin. She lives about 50 miles away and we meet up three or four times a year and write/phone etc in between. She was telling me about a family issue today and I have no idea how I am supposed to feel. Help! In short, I have a half brother - my mother had a son 13 years before I was born and as this was in the 1950s, he ended up being adopted. I've known of his existence for around 20 years+ (which was a shock at the time believe me) but have never met him. After his adopted mother died, he decided to try and find my Mum - went about it all the wrong way from what I recall, against all the advice from Social Services, and he involved both my father's sister and my mother's sister (who lives overseas) and in a nutshell, it caused such a rift between my father and his sister that they never spoke again until the day he died. My father had always known of his existence but the long and short of it was when he turned up on the doorstep, my Dad might not have known which could have caused untold damage.

Anyway, today, I learned that he has died. I feel so strange. I never met him (through choice) but it was strange to be told about it whilst we were eating, right out of the blue. I sort of think that as a relative, I ought to feel SOMETHING. I know all this must sound odd, but I have to get it off my chest and it's easier talking on here than to friends.

Afterwards, we were discussing other things about my cousin's and mother's childhoods and their strange relatives (my mother and her sister were in a children's home after their mother died). It sort of made me wish I'd listened more to her stories - you know the kind of thing where you switch off after a while. I think I'm more upset about the stories and not listening over the years than my half brother dying.

Sorry to rant like this.

apsara03 · 03/04/2016 07:12

Lovely picture pix where were you? My parents have a caravan near Cromer - we're off there in a week.
Families can be funny things ilove. After a while it's inevitable you turn off as s child - you're not always aware of the implications. My DH had a baby sister who died - she was never spoken off. I'm not sure how much he know if anything growing up but I think knowing it later it made a lot more sense of things that did 't as he was growing up. She told me about it having had a few too many sherries as DH's 50th 10 years ago. Which is the first time he remembers it being talked about

Rhubarb01 · 03/04/2016 07:54

Morning!

Sorry to hear about that Ilove. To be honest I don't think it's surprising that you don't feel anything in particular as apart from the connection to your mother you are talking about a stranger. You can't really summon up emotions about someone you know very little about and I think it's quite natural to feel like that.

My mother's family tale is one of five or six children taken into care in the 1940's and split up as they used to do then. She was in foster care until she was 15 and didn't meet any of her family again until she was in her early twenties. She didn't know that she had a younger brother until many years later and she only finally got in contact and was able to meet him a few years ago. Her oldest sister died a couple of years ago but to be honest she didn't really know her very well at all and as she lived a long way away she didn't go to the funeral and, I hope it doesn't sound harsh because my mum is very warm and loving, but I don't think it affected her in particular because they were more like passing acquaintances and they hadn't shared anything that bonds you. She was naturally sorry about it and sorry for her sister's family but she's had many closer friends. It's just the unfortunate way some of these things happen but it's understandable that it rattles you a little at the time..

MaddieMoo82 · 03/04/2016 08:14

Morning all! Had a another listen to German CJ this morning Grin

Sorry to hear about your news ilove Flowers. Don't apologise for ranting also I don't think it's strange you don't feel any sorrow, you never had anything to do with him.
Families are funny things aren't they? My grandparents died fairly close together and when my mum was sorting out their house she found some paperwork showing that they were never married. Something that she never knew. More investigation showed that actually my nan had been married to someone else first but he was an American who died in the war. It turns out they had a child together which was brought up by my mums auntie as her cousin! She had unfortunately also died by the time by mum found out this! She had no idea about any of it though. So many secrets!
Anyho of to sort the dog out, she has some how managed to cut her paw pad, theres always something to worry about isn't there?!
Have a good day all Smile

kuiakaituhi · 03/04/2016 09:25

Was doing my chores yesterday, TV on in background, rerun of a "Vera" episode. I love Vera, I think I'm growing into her...or Maggie Smith... and suddenly a familiar voice. Stopped me in my tracks, almost tripped over the vacuum cleaner.
And there he was, CJ, looking very fine, but quite a bit younger. Interestingly, an army in Afghanistan storyline, about his soldier brother who had been murdered on his return from Helmand. Needless to say, the cleaning waited for another hour.
Have any of you seen that episode?
Harking back to bulges and ballet dancers which many of you scoff at, have a look at our "Black Grace" dance company. Lots of absolutely non-gay, beautiful bodies, quite a few with Rugby and football back grounds.
Woof, with your taste in dark skinned Kiwi blokes, you would be in 7th Heaven.
Just going to watch episode 6 of TNM. We are a bit behind you, so have been avoiding finding out what happens. LOVE TH, but more as LOKI, love his wicked sneer and sexy voice.
We are having reruns of the whole five seasons so far of Game of Thrones. New series starts later April. VERY popular here. Do any of you watch it?
Good to see you back Woof.

Beautiful picture pixie nothing can be better than the British coastline when the suns out!!

Bloody shocked that HH have updated BAs profile page. At last they are having to get their arses into gear because his profile has already been raised (DM mention).

Sorry about your upset ilove.

Off to my sisters for lunch today which will be lovely but really I could do with the day in the garden. Never mind plenty more opportunity I hope!

rhu I haven't had a chance to look at the German clip but it will be a stern treat for me later!

Ilovelblue · 03/04/2016 10:03

Thanks everyone for their kind thoughts and own family tales. I think talking yesterday brought a few things into the foreground again that both myself and my cousin had put to the backs of our minds. To be honest, and I don't mean to flippant (it's perfectly true), I felt more upset when Terry Wogan died.

Quite pleasant here today so am about to hang some washing out and then pot some plants up ready for our charity plant sale next month. I'm a bit behind with it all really.

Ilovelblue · 03/04/2016 10:05

PS I reckon BA's agents heard the MN team were thinking of making a hostile takeover if they didn't get their act together. We just need to sort out his wardrobe now.

cjwoofwoof · 03/04/2016 14:28

Ooh I say Tartsy that's very welcome on a Sunday afternoon! Do you think OG2 will allow a leather shoulder pad and thigh boots, just for old times sake?

Rhubarb01 · 03/04/2016 14:49

ooh yes woof I'm sure some leather would be absolutely necessary in special forces surely regulation kit.

I found the Musketeers (both series) on Netflix yesterday and was very tempted to indulge as DH was out but wasn't sure when he'd be back and didn't want to get caught in an Aramis ogle fest.
