Hi, all. All that talk of tights, bulges etc has made me come over all peculiar. Have any of you scoped out the wonderful world of ballet? In particular, Sergei Polunin? Brilliant YouTube clip of him dancing to Hozier's "Take Me to Church", just spectacular, Google their two names together, it will come up.

WOOF I'm worried about you. Where are you?

Big NZ/England semifinal tonight. Lots of Kiwis going to bed early, setting alarms to get up at 2.30 am. I think there'll be a high absentee rate at lots of workplaces tomorrow

Rhubarb01 · 30/03/2016 16:10

Afternoon. It's very quiet on here today. Hi there Kuia. Can't say I've ever really liked the balletic grande bulge but the video sounds interesting.

I'm afraid I can't abide cricket either. The only appeal of it is the idea of sitting in a deck chair on some quiet village green in the sun on a lazy afternoon reading a book whilst listening to the gentle thwack of leather on willow! This is all of course a total fantasy as the likelihood of a day like that in this country is practically zero.

Not sure who it was who said they didn't know what they were going to watch on Sunday night now TNM has finished but it looks like Home Fires is back on Sunday and also the new version of the Gerald Durrell stories beforehand so looks like it could be a couple of hours of wallowy nostalgia and soapy drama for me (love it!) - whilst I try to ignore the historical inaccuracies. Now all we need is the Musketeers to follow that and OG in Sept/Oct and it won't seem too bad a year. Hopefully there'll be enough in OG 2 to keep us talking for at least another two years!

Ilovelblue · 30/03/2016 18:36

I've been to the optician to swap my varifocals back to two pairs of single lenses. At least it meant I was home early.

I'm with you Rhubarb. I don't understand cricket at all but like you think of it as a quintessential English summer sport. As for male ballet dancers, I always presume - maybe wrongly - that they are gay which kind of detracts from the appeal of any bulge!

Great update by the way too.

Just been reading the new one where Charles has died. Oh dear. Don't like to think he is less than invincible. The writer has a very different take though so will see where she takes this. Wonder if she's going to explain how he died?

moojangles · 30/03/2016 19:02

Loved the update rhu. I want my varifocals back, got this new/odd lense style that I can't get thd hang of.
In an odd turn up, I am out again. This time to see Mathias at the cinema. Not sure my hormones can take much more. And ice, Morten was eorth my 30 year wait!

pixieg1rl · 30/03/2016 19:15

Goodness mooj, sounds like an exhausting week. I can't summon up the energy to do the washing up.

Loving the lighter evenings, I'm ignoring a pile of laundry that needs folding and listening to the blackbirds singin in the garden.

Ilovelblue · 30/03/2016 22:43

I've been out tonight too with my two ex-RAF colleagues who I worked with years ago. One of them in particular has some pretty good stories (I think he'd had more than the odd drink before he came out as he was highly amusing tonight). He was seconded for a while to work for a 5* general in NATO in Brussels so there were plenty of army references. I did think about you lot. I've never disclosed my particular interest in army-related stuff.

moojangles · 30/03/2016 22:52

Not too sure what I made of the film yet and have defintely seen all of Ralph Fiennes and most of Mathias. Now back in the fireside wrestling days, was a summer version mentioned? I can confirm that it works in a swimming pool.

Ilovelblue · 31/03/2016 08:27

Morning all. Slight frost here and misty. It was hard dragging myself out of bed today.

Nickel45 · 31/03/2016 12:41

I need to see that film mooj!
Naked summer wrestling in a swimming pool - sounds like a good plan to me! CJ has his own pool, he can practise!!

cjwoofwoof · 31/03/2016 15:18

Hello everyone I'm back in the room!!!!!! Phew, it's been an exhausting couple of weeks. Hope you had a good Easter. Over at Woof Manor, Matthias, AT and Manu have been taking it in turns to search thoroughly for my extra special Easter eggs using the Tom Hiddleston Night Manager Burying in the Undergrowth Method, or THUMBUM as we in the trade call it, but they've had a devil of a time locating them amongst the undergrowth of my fibroids cabbage patch I can tell you. Anyway, it all ended satisfactorily as far as I was concerned after a great deal of perseverence. It takes a toll on the old thighs but Manu in particular was more than equipped in the stamina department.

My DH commented the other day that I'm in love with anybody in trousers, when he caught me licking the TV screen during Shannara Chronicles but I told him that's not true as I don't like him at all Grin

Can I just say the prospect of summer wrestling in a swimming, or indeed CJ's paddling, pool would be very welcome indeed and I nominate Nick as chief co-ordinator whilst I myself will volunteer to provide small fluffy hand towels at poolside for dabbing off any wet regions mid-wrestle. orph can suntan lotion scum-surf with her fishing net.

Ilovelblue · 31/03/2016 15:50

I was just about to say how quiet it has been on here this week when Woof makes her flamboyant reappearance.

Where is everyone else though?

Rhubarb01 · 31/03/2016 16:19

Afternoon. I've just spotted on Tony Grounds twitter (I'm not on there but I take a look anyway) that Our Girl is being shown on German TV from 7th April. A quick perusal of the internet reveals it's a 'Culture' channel called Arte and they're showing it all including the pilot in two parts over two weeks - lucky them! Oh and it's retitled A woman at the Front. Of course, knowing how they normally dub everything over there I'm wondering what CJ and Molly will sound like in German. From memory they usually try to match up voice tone as much as possible but I'd love to hear some of Molly's phrases. Or maybe they will chicken out and just subtitle?

moojangles · 31/03/2016 16:31

rhu you beat me to it. I am on a mission to find it in German for the same reasons. Arte is a tri-lingual channel, really cool actually but you can't get it on the sattelite we have! Intrigued to think about how they will do the Molly stuff and the swearing!

moojangles · 31/03/2016 16:35

Wow that came across as far more patronising than I intended, sorry!

moojangles · 31/03/2016 16:42

Posted too soon. Pressed the wrong key as I fell off my high horse!
ilove I reckon folk must be out and about enjoying the dry weather if the number of kids in our local park is anything to go by

Rhubarb01 · 31/03/2016 17:06

No worries mooj I just found that informative. To be honest I've never heard of Arte before so that was interesting. It's strange who decides to pick up these series for broadcast isn't it? I'm guessing, unlike English speaking relatively pro-brit countries like Australia and NZ (give or take the odd Rugby and cricket contest - actually any sporting contest) it's more of a mainstream programme but it probably wouldn't appeal as much in the rest of Europe. I don't suppose we're very popular there at the best of times - not if Eurovision is anything to go by - and I don't suppose a certain vote in the offing helps either. This is definitely a null point year I reckon.

Would be great if someone put up some clips on youtube after it's broadcast for our amusement - that makes me sound very strange!

Rhubarb01 · 31/03/2016 17:11

Oh Mooj by the way what was the film with Matthias?

moojangles · 31/03/2016 17:19

There is a certain admiration in more conservative regions for our retaining the pound, especially post bail outs.
The film was A Bigger Splash

pixieg1rl · 31/03/2016 17:24

Well thank goodness you're back woof, I was thinking I'd have to pull out the big guns of combats lego man to lure you out

Rhubarb01 · 31/03/2016 17:35

I had to go and read the review just now mooj as I was worried for a moment it might be a sequel to 'Splash' with Tom Hanks and Darryl Hannah but I can see it's rather more serious than that! There was a comment that it's just about saved from being soft porn - sounds as if that swimming pool has a lot to answer for. You weren't one of the safety divers in the pool by any chance were you woof? I hear you're amazing with a snorkel!

moojangles · 31/03/2016 17:39

Grin Reckon woof might have designed the easy access zip dress, zip went from bottom to top & at frontBlush

cjwoofwoof · 31/03/2016 18:55

Hmm I'm finding him uncannily attractive pix - he just needs to lose the blond man-bun for a 10/10 Grin

I'm liking the sound of Matthias cavorting in water mooj and rhu especially with the words "soft porn" mentioned in the same review must blanket book daily matinee showings with all the men in raincoats tomorrow I'm pleased to hear my patented zip-up-and-under dress is gaining popularity. The prototype was tried out on our gymnastics leotards at Munich '76 when orph decided the Hungarian men's pommel horse squad needed to swing both ways despite her simultaneous double-straddle on the asymmetric bars

pixieg1rl · 31/03/2016 19:18

You can have black hair or BA backward baseball cap woof

Oh dear pix No.1 looks like Kim Jong Un and No.2 has a smug expression saying "I know I look like a combatted penis, but youll be amazed at what I can tweak with these hands"

Rhubarb01 · 31/03/2016 19:57

I think number two looks suspicious that R2D2 behind is taking the piss out of him Grin
