Ooh, I love scraps. God I'm hungry now.

No to mushy peas though. Yuck.

MaddieMoo82 · 26/03/2016 20:23

Oooh this is making me so hungry.
So it depends on which chippy. Either large battered sausage, chips and curry sauce or from the other chippy - cod and spicy spuds. The spuds are epic Smile

MaddieMoo82 · 26/03/2016 20:40

2 pages into that thread and wtf?! Deep friend onion pizza??!! Shock

pixieg1rl · 26/03/2016 20:41

Long ago when we were poorer and lived near a good chippy one of us would get chips while the other made fried eggs and curry sauce. Still one of our favourites, although chippy these days is a van that stops one village over on a Wednesday night.

pixieg1rl · 26/03/2016 20:45

I'm very curious about battered pizza, being a fan of deep fried stodge.

MaddieMoo82 · 26/03/2016 20:48

Someone's also had a battered cream egg Confused

KellyHb · 26/03/2016 21:47

Although admittedly the mushy peas is nothing special, just out of a tin you could buy at ASDA, there's just something tastier about it from a chip shop.

I could imagine battered pizza and but battered cream egg??

Never had curry sauce in my life, never fancied it either really.

MaddieMoo82 · 26/03/2016 21:54

Oh my kelly you need to have some!

orphan · 26/03/2016 22:29

No to battered Sausage although Rupe may say otherwise yes to mushy peas and curry sauce. Like the sound of spicy spuds maddie.

À trip to the chippy for me is one of those things that is almost always better in the anticipation than the actuality.Sad

orphan · 26/03/2016 22:37

Just reading it now - battered chips? Oh and I've been reminded of scallops which I used to prefer as a child to chips. Thinking I'm a bit boring and unadventurous in my orders now - need to actually study what's on offer next visit.

Ilovelblue · 27/03/2016 00:18

A very late posting here. Spent ages trying to fix the cooker clock when I altered it. For some reason it turned the setting onto automatic which means you can't switch the oven on and it took me an hour of fiddling around before I could reset it. The clock is completely wrong but it was either put up with that or call somebody out and I have the microwave clock I can use anyway. Have too much expense coming up with the bathroom and replacement windows to bother about a cooker clock!

As for the local chippy, mine has won some county awards the past couple of years though I'm not convinced it's my favourite chippy around. I can't stand curry, sorry, and would always go for a lightly battered fish and half portion of chips. If you ask for lightly battered, they have to cook it there and then for you so no danger of having something that's been sat there for a while. I do like the sound of the spiced potatoes Maddie.

Some of these "trending now" threads on MN are hilarious. I dip into them sometimes just for a laugh. I wonder what they think about ours?

Just been out to the garden to carry out my Easter bunny duties. What's the betting DS chides this morning to sleep in?

icemistOBE · 27/03/2016 08:11

Morning, bad mum I am totally forgot to leave the eggs out for the boys. Cue me rushing 6yo downstairs whilst I quickly popped his egg on his bed with an 'how did you miss the egg on your bed?'

I'm trying a new photo app out Smile

Morning all. Did MrP dress up as a bunny pix? Easter Smile
Lots of people brought DS eggs but since he is only 10 months we shall be eating them Easter Grin he doesn't know what he's missing right??

pixieg1rl · 27/03/2016 08:22

I ate all the eggs on the first Easter, on the basis that DS would be getting them via breast milk mads.

I think I prefer the combats if we're going to do dressing up. Easter Wink

DS had a nosebleed and then wet the bed, so my Easter is going to be getting the duvet washed and dried before we go to my brother for the day.

MaddieMoo82 · 27/03/2016 08:30

Yes DS can enjoy the chocolate that way! Hadn't thought of that Easter Grin

Nickel45 · 27/03/2016 08:34

Happy Easter everyone Easter Smile

Morning all. Happy Easter. Great pic ice and those brought a smile Nickel.

It's blowing a gale here and is really cold. Don't think the Easter bunny has dared come out yet.

We were lucky on our day out yesterday as it only rained late afternoon when we were about 10 mins away from the car but then poured down all the way home.

KellyHb · 27/03/2016 09:26

Morning all and Happy Easter!! Easter Smile

Having hot cross buns for breakfast followed by a bit of Easter egg. I havent done anything Easter egg related yet today for the kids but might do a hunt later.

We havent actually got that many chocolate eggs this year. Ive got to nip out to the shops later, I might buy a couple more.

Sorry about your morning washing you've got to do pix. The twins still wear pull up type things for bed as I know for a fact they'll wet the bed quite a few times in their sleep. I should really stop putting them on.

Yes mads DS won't know what he's missing. We used to eat all the kids eggs when they knew no different. Ha!

Richtea19 · 27/03/2016 09:28

Happy Easter everyone. We always used to do an egg hunt when my mum was alive, it's was always such a tradition. She would hide those little yellow tiny fluffy chicks too. Which the boys were just as excited to find as the chocolate. I can't get them out of bed now!

I had a lovely day at the ballet yesterday, and managed to squeeze in a quick trip to the British Museum to see the "mummies" before the performance.

Finishing off decorating the sitting room today.

MaddieMoo82 · 27/03/2016 09:40

Ah I used to love those little yellow chicks rich Easter Smile hope the decorating goes ok.

Yep kelly happy to eat all the chocolate! Hope you get more eggs, no shops open round here so quiet day at home (weathers awful anyway) and tackling roast lamb later.

Funny pictures nickel Easter Smile

KellyHb · 27/03/2016 09:46

Good thinking mads actually. The shops might not be open. I'd better check. I'm going to pick up one of the books in the OL series I ordered. I'd already picked up the same book last week but when I got home, I realised half the pages had half the words missing!

Sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday rich. I'd love to see some ballet.

pixieg1rl · 27/03/2016 09:46

I get the plastic eggs Kelly, put in a sticker and a couple of sweets so there isn't much expense and then you get to finish the sweets yourself. Plus, if you're quick off the mark and take the eggs back you can reuse them next year. DS also got a small box of Lego.

KellyHb · 27/03/2016 09:47

That's clever pix. I'll remember that one.

The kids are running around upstairs while I'm downstairs scoffing a Creme Egg Grin

Ilovelblue · 27/03/2016 09:54

I remember our local Co op being open last Easter Sunday as I had had a disaster with a dessert I was supposed to be making for friends and had to start all over again but had run out of sugar. Think the major supermarkets are all shut today though.
