My morning for a lie in, bliss.

Gorgeous day here, out later, but first need to survive getting DS's feet measured in Clarks. Confused

MaddieMoo82 · 25/03/2016 09:21

I'm guessing that's a stressful thing pix good luck.
Forgetton how long it takes to get to people, one dog and one baby out of the house together. Beautiful day though! Smile
Have a good day everyone Grin

KellyHb · 25/03/2016 10:13

Morning all.

Good luck at Clark's pix. Its a nightmare as my three seem to get over excited at all the shoes and go a bit crazy.

Food shopping this morning I'll try not to buy too much Easter chocolate and probably take kids to park later. I wanted our shower tray regrouted and resealed so that'll be a job for tomorrow as its supposed to rain then.

Lovely and sunny here too mads.

Ilovelblue · 25/03/2016 10:14

Lovely day here too and supposed to be the best day of the weekend. Doing the traditional gardener's thing of planting my potatoes on Good Friday....well some of them anyway.

Expecting my elderly friend making her annual visit to deliver my birthday present for next week which will no doubt be sh*te as usual. It's a bit like a royal visit but at least it's only a short visit then I can go out in the garden again.

pixieg1rl · 25/03/2016 13:13

Is that the one who gets you horrible charity shop presents ilove? Be sure to let us know

Nickel45 · 25/03/2016 13:24

Off to watch Mansfield play! Feel a bit disloyal supporting the other team!!

KellyHb · 25/03/2016 13:26

You made me laugh there ilove.

We're going out now to feed the ducks and go on a nature walk but hopefully we're not out long as I want to continue reading OL.

Ilovelblue · 25/03/2016 13:26

The charity shop present giver is my neighbour. This is the elderly lady with a very sick husband. I sort of have to forgive her the crp as she has very little free time but I'd far rather she gave me a garden centre token or to be honest just a card than trying to think of something interesting from a catalogue! It's hard pretending to like crp. With any luck, I won't have to open it today.

Nickel As Nick's a Derby fan don't feel too guilty
Ds2 is at his first Rugby league match with DH, unfortunately they've yet to score so he won't be v happy
My mum phoned with some sad news this morning. My nan has died. She was sitting in a chair in her room in the spring sunshine and wasn't anxious or in pain so not a bad way to go and 95 isn't a bad innings. We'd moved her into a home in Feb which she had resisted for a long time but wasn't eating and kept falling and once there was quite happy and settled. So although sad it's a blessing that she passed peacefully

Rhubarb01 · 25/03/2016 17:06

So sorry to hear your sad news aspara. Condolences to you and your family. I'm glad that she passed away peacefully which must be a great comfort to you.

apsara03 · 25/03/2016 17:15

Thanks rhu. I guess my one regret is that I didn't get to say goodbye. I saw her Mothering Sunday and was going again on Sunday but she loved her garden and it was a beautiful morning and her room had lovely big windows looking out on the garden

moojangles · 25/03/2016 17:20

Sorry for your loss aspara x

pixieg1rl · 25/03/2016 17:39

apsara so sorry to hear about your nan. That would be the way I'd chose to go though. Flowers and hugs.

You're right about Derby, forgot that ... Don't feel guilty now, and we won!

MaddieMoo82 · 25/03/2016 19:34

Ooh am knackered after lugging ds around cliff paths today although had a lovely day in the sunshine. Shame it's going to be absolutely rubbish weather for the rest of the weekend!

Richtea19 · 25/03/2016 19:43

I'm at the cinema reading the brochure of what's coming next and I found woofs man!! Maybe that's where she's been.. On set with Matthias!

ilove your picture of the garden in FB are stunning. They would look lovely as prints in frames.

No gardening for me today, the best day of the weekend and I was decorating! DH did the ceiling for me and I did the walls. I actually don't mind decorating when there's two of you, we actually talk!

Off to London tomorrow with my friend and her daughter. We are going to the saddlers wells theatre to see Sleeping Beauty "my first ballet". It's geared up for small people, ie not £100 a ticket but £20.00!!! Which I thought was good value for London.

moojangles · 25/03/2016 20:03

The lovely Matthias. Going to ses him in A Bigger Splash on Weds

Ilovelblue · 25/03/2016 20:08

Evening all.

So sorry to hear about your gran apsara but as pixie said, it's the best way to go. In fact, I guess it's the way we would all like to go. What a great age. Hope you're feeling ok.

Your photos on Facebook looked lovely Maddie. We've had fab weather today so I hope everyone has made the most of it as the rest of the weekend looks very unsettled.

I did loads and loads of gardening today. I planted most of my potatoes and dug another compost heap out as well. I had a surprise visit from my friend and her 5 month old (he is so cute) and then this afternoon entertained my elderly friend. It went pretty much as I anticipated. She came in, said she could only stay 20 mins, went to look at the back garden, came in (left the door wide open) and then started on about her husband. I know he's very, very poorly but the idea of her coming is to get an hour's respite. In the end, she stayed about 50 mins I think. As predicted, I was part way through a tale when she stood up and just said "I'll have to go". As for the birthday present pixie, I've restrained myself and not opened it. I'll tell you next week how bad it was on a scale of 1 to 10.

Had ostrich steak for tea (a Tesco bargain). Cooked it in red wine and I have to say, it was rather nice. Washed down with a cheeky rioja and now feeling incredibly sleepy. May just need to close my eyes for a while.....

MaddieMoo82 · 25/03/2016 20:34

Thanks ilove it was a lovely. Like you feel like I need a little nap, too much sea air and Cornish cider

richtea is right you garden pictures are lovely! Very jealous. We just have a patch of grass which I need to do something with this year. Sounds like you have had a very productive day though. And I'm sure we are all waiting to hear what your present is!! Grin
