Just saw we were dangerously close to filling the last thread so have taken the liberty as starting this one.

Ah yes, Christopher Plummer as the Captain does things to me too.

Ida - Those pictures are amazing! He looks better out of his dog collar!

Shelagh I 've just seen MOST of the link you posted. It's great, your name sake is a good singer, so lovely too. Loved the jiving nuns! Thank you Flowers

AnneEyhtMeyer · 05/03/2016 12:41

Thanks Shelagh - I don't remember that at all.

Watching the official video I was reminded why I liked them before they got together. I think they've ruined Shelagh since they got married though.

I also found the video a bit uncomfortable when they were showing them as their real-life selves - they seemed to still be acting the loving couple.

What is happening tomorrow? I need to know!

Hmm... a bit of googling and no luck yet on who it is, but I did read this:

Sunday’s finale will also see Dr. Turner figure out that thalidomide is the reason for the sudden rise in babies born with deformities

...which is annoyingly what I predicted would happen a couple of weeks ago. If it is him who makes the link then it is totally ridiculous.

It has become the Dr Turner Show lately.

This may have been mentioned already but I realised yesterday that Cynthia is the voice of Padget in Bing (mum of an obsessed 2 yr old).

DiscordiaVanDiemen · 05/03/2016 13:01

That "spoiler' for Sunday's episode has been around for weeks because someone put a photo on Tumblr with some of the cast dressed in black. I read about it on the L Chat.
Everyone THINKS they know who it is, but possibly not because she's the obvious person.
I don't care who it is as long as they leave Patsy, Delia and Trixie alone...

NeedACleverNN · 05/03/2016 13:08

Ah it will probably be trixie now...

She does smoke an awful lot

AnneEyhtMeyer · 05/03/2016 13:12

By the look of the hearse it has to be someone quite well to do, so Sr Monica Joan is a strong possibility, but I really hope not. I do wonder if it is Chummy. As it is obvious she is never coming back.

DiscordiaVanDiemen · 05/03/2016 13:45

Trixie was in the photo I saw, but NOT in costume (it was a picture taken on set, not a still from the episode)
I'm starting to worry now, I love Trixie…Sad

Lj8893 · 05/03/2016 13:52

I think it's trixie or sister evangelina Sad

kittensarecute · 05/03/2016 13:57

I hope it's not Chummy, I'm hoping she's back next series.

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 05/03/2016 13:59

Whut?

Is someone dying tomorrow?

I have the night off work so I can actually watch it properly.

Lj8893 · 05/03/2016 14:05

I'm working till 9 tomorrow night, will have to wait till its on I player!

ShelaghTurner · 05/03/2016 14:08

I'm pretty sure Chummy won't be coming back. At least I bloody hope not! Wink

ShelaghTurner · 05/03/2016 14:10

Dr Turner doesn't make the link between the births and thalidomide. AFAIK it's read in the Lancet but we don't know who reads it first amongst that lot. I have a feeling it won't be him though. Tim has been very keen to get his mitts on the lancet these days.

Pebble21uk · 05/03/2016 14:34

Here's the one from The Mirror... well... Tom & PC Noakes are safe!!

NeedACleverNN · 05/03/2016 14:38

Hmm I think it's Trixie followed by Patsy.

They both smoke. Won't be the turners because that would make too much sense.

Gotta be someone who people are going to be shocked by. Would have said maybe sister julienne but she doesn't smoke

BennyTheBall · 05/03/2016 14:40

I couldn't quite work out why they put Trixie's emotional speech about the boredom of sobriety in last week. It seemed unnecessary and a bit disjointed.

So now I am thinking, maybe something happens to her?

Pebble21uk · 05/03/2016 14:58

I'm thinking either Sister Evangelina or Trixie too.

Sister E was a real Eastender and that looks to me like a good ole fashioned East End funeral cortege (and otherwise a tad too opulent for a nun perhaps!)

Or Trixie - due to the monologue last week... and the pic on the CTM FB page which had the words 'None of us know how long the things we love will last om it.' Which makes it all sound a bit of a premature departure to me!

NeedACleverNN · 05/03/2016 15:07

My dh is thinking its Fred......because it's totally left wing

ShelaghTurner · 05/03/2016 15:12

Sister E came from Reading... sorry! Grin

Redglitter · 05/03/2016 15:20

I hope it's Trixie she's getting more irritating as the series goes on. I wouldn't be sorry to see the back of her

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 05/03/2016 15:26

It's Sister Winifred.

Strangled by her own judgy-pants. She hoiked them buggers just that little bit too high.

StitchesInTime · 05/03/2016 15:27

Not Sister Monica Joan then? Or would that be too obvious given her advanced age?

Pebble21uk · 05/03/2016 15:29

Oh... didn't realise that Shelagh... I only recently read the last book in the 'Midwife Trilogy' and it said she was buried in Poplar as she wished (and not at the convent like the other nuns) as she always considered herself and was considered by the residents of Poplar, to be one of the people...

All of which would fit with a cortege I suppose! (But then they don't really stick to the books anymore anyway!)

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 05/03/2016 15:31

Well Sister Evangelina has had a stroke. Strokes are often followed by another stroke. However in last week's 'in next week's episode' bit she was striding about shouting stuff.

I reckon Trixie takes her own life.
