Looks like

Fecking phone

orphan · 10/02/2016 07:24

Morning! Not long til half term - I'm counting the seconds. We're off to Tuscany so looking forward to piling on the carbs and swigging back the vino so just like home then

Have yet to watch last ep of W&P. I know the ending already but will make sure I have tissues at the ready.Dp has really got into it and I fear he may be a blubbering mess.

Have a good day everyone.Smile

icemistOBE · 10/02/2016 07:43

Morning,

Wish I was off somewhere for half-term.... Although my mum is coming over for a few days so I'll get some lie-ins Smile

MK mentioned OG in her blog again. Stating yet again filming is March. Hopefully she'll pop some photos on when she is there. And I didn't have to whizz past face cream posts as it was right at the start thank goodness as its otherwise rather boring to read

Let's have a CJ photo to brighten the day

You lead a life of perpetual glamour orph, I'm taking the half term week off, sticking DS in holiday club and spending a few days having a massive clear out of my stuff.

Ilovelblue · 10/02/2016 08:05

Have a lovely time orphan. I've been to Florence. It was lovely but very expensive. Are you in a city or out in the countryside?

I think I need to watch some of OG. Not seen any of it properly for ages. Those photos remind me....

MaddieMoo82 · 10/02/2016 08:51

Oooh some moody CJ pics to start the day.. Lovely Smile
orph your half term plans sound lovely!!
Was woken at 4am by DS crying, went in and MrMads was with him. He had got up and noticed him asleep on his stomach... Didn't want him to suffocate so turned him back onto his back which woke him. He had been asleep 7.45-4! The longest he's ever slept and I wonder if he might have slept through if he hadn't turned him!gggrrrr. Instead I spent an hour feeding him and settling him. Ah well!

pixieg1rl · 10/02/2016 09:39

Oh Mads, so close. I too would have wondered if he could have slept through without 'help' from MrMads. My son hated sleeping on his back. I remember one night he refused to sleep in his crib, he was thrashing about, I'd pick him up and soothe him and when he was calm put him back down and it would all start again. After an hour of this I put him down on our bed to give myself a break, he promptly rolled over onto his tummy and fell fast asleep. I put him in the big cot the next night and never worried about his sleeping position again.

I have no idea what the sleep advice is these days but I say once they can roll over by themselves just let them get on with it (and too much sleeping on their backs can't be good for their head shape)

MaddieMoo82 · 10/02/2016 09:50

Sooo close! To be honest I let him sleep on his tum but MrMads is not keen. Me too- I was under the impression when they can roll is its fine. I woke at 2 (when he normally wakes) and he was in that position then so when MrMads woke at 4 he had already been like it for at least 2hrs.... I know he cares it just a bit frustrating! I wondering if when he is 16 he will still be going in rolling him on his back Hmm

KellyHb · 10/02/2016 10:24

Morning all.

That was a pretty good sleep through for your DS mads. I was a bit worried when mine were little babies about sleeping positions but ditto re: letting them get on with it when they can roll over.

I remember we had those baby sleeping bags which were great as they could stay in one position without rolling round but I suppose the down side is they would spend a long time lying on the back of their head. He's a lovely happy looking boy mads. You've done well.

As usual this morning, the crazy rush to get the kids out the door with a minute to spare before they're late for school. I need to get up earlier on a morning!

Oo very nice orph. Tuscany is one of those places I want to go to. I always think of vineyards when I hear about there.

Too excited for Grantchester pix. Looking forward to the river scene.

moojangles · 10/02/2016 11:38

Nicely chosen ice. orph that's the half term I want!! How's mr pe by the way? pix., that sounds like the half term I usually have!

MaddieMoo82 · 10/02/2016 14:10

Thanks kelly that's very kind... Flowers you haven't seen him when he is overtired or hungry, def not happy then!!

KellyHb · 10/02/2016 14:23

A bit like me when I'm tired or hungry then mads Smile

Just read an article about Simon Le Bon. He's quite good looking. Never realised before.

I'm dreading next week. DH is at work all week and taking the twins out together by yourself is a non starter. So itll be playing in the house or walking them to see the trains. DD is getting to be a good help with them but come the six weeks holiday, I'll need a good plan to go away somewhere or I'll be rocking backwards and forwards.

pixieg1rl · 10/02/2016 14:33

How's your mum doing Kelly? Would your parents be up for a short visit just to give you a change of scene?

Onlygirljen · 10/02/2016 14:47

mads don't worry about the tummy sleeping (or at least tell mr mads not to worry so much). Both of mine were (and still are) tummy sleepers. My youngest had some fairly severe health issues when he was born and I always remember a very senior paediatrician in the hospital encouraging me to let him tummy sleep if that was what he was most comfortable with (and that was when he was teeny tiny and couldn't roll). He said it wouldn't do any harm at all.

Working from home today, need to do the dreaded appraisal form, eeek SadSad

Ilovelblue · 10/02/2016 14:56

Jen I am supposedly on with the appraisal form too but finding lots of excuses not to knuckle down and finish it off.

Onlygirljen · 10/02/2016 15:13

I really have no choice ilove, my appraisal is tomorrow and I've put it off until the very last minute. 15 pages of utter torture!

Ooooh while I'm on, pixie and kelly you will like this!! Somebody who DH knows photographed Sam Heughan at the weekend!!! Apparently he's a very nice guy, no airs and graces at all. dribbles. That's the end of my showbiz goss, really need to fill out this form now...!

pixieg1rl · 10/02/2016 15:43

I'm in lala lala land over my performance review as my boss hasn't timetabled it yet. I should be being uber organised and have it done and dusted, but who am I kidding?

Nickel45 · 10/02/2016 15:49

Good luck with the appraisal jen - I hate them! Luckily, so does my boss (who I have known for a long time), so thankfully mine comes down to "can you fill this in", "are you OK" ... "time for coffee then!". He is the BEST boss!!

mads - mine now sleep on their front too, it's hard not to worry when they are young though, but once they can lift their heads, they are OK, aren't they - isn't that one of the reasons they don't recommend it initially, or something?

I've just been invited to a birthday breakfast at a posh restaurant (not sure why I was invited, don't do posh - but am very flattered!!!). Anyway, it's on Friday! Any ideas as to what to buy someone who is a bit posh, completely lovely, probably has expensive taste, and won't expect a present - but will be getting something from everyone else. Or do you think I can brazen it out and not buy anything?! Eek! Need a posh boy captain to take with me, to take the attention away from the fact I've not taken anything with me. Mind, if I had a posh boy captain for the morning, I'd probably find something else to do with him!!

Ilovelblue · 10/02/2016 16:56

Depends how much you want to spend Nickel. There are some decent offers on champagne at the moment in Tesco and Sainsburys - the named brands such as Taittinger, Moet and even Bollinger. Candles and reed diffusers seem to be the "in" thing just now and they come in at all sorts of different prices. How about an orchid or flowers?

I have lost the will to live on this appraisal stuff. I will have to do some more either at home or early tomorrow morning. I just can't do any more today. It's utter tosh.

icemistOBE · 10/02/2016 17:42

Oh, mr mads need it worry. 6 yo was very good at sleeping in the roast chicken position

MaddieMoo82 · 10/02/2016 17:53

Thanks all. Will dutifully try to convince MrMads in the hope that a miracle occurs and ds sleeps well again! nickel if you were going to a hotel with a certain captain I'm sure you would be checking into a room not going for breakfast Blush well maybe room service Wink
I'm rubbish with presents, gift vouchers usually for me or I bake a cake.

MaddieMoo82 · 10/02/2016 17:56

No complaints about seeing those pictures again ice, they are a very good bunch

Onlygirljen · 10/02/2016 18:00

nick you can't really go wrong with a bottle of something. Breakfast sesh with the good captain sounds very appealing right now!

Finally finished my form, just need to send it now. Unfortunately my boss goes for all of that appraisal and objective setting bullshit in a big way, hence the 2 hour performance review I have scheduled for tomorrow. Oh, the fun!!

apsara03 · 10/02/2016 18:53

Hope all the appraisals go well for everyone. Always very stressful. I'm crawling to half term. Wish we were going away but DS2 is in his first panto (am dram) and it's on weds- sat. He is very excited as has lines and gets to pie someone. Taking him to rehearsals makes we wonde about little BA Smile
