SCD 2015 #9 - Final musings, then the Christmas Special!

We still seemed happy chatting and filled up the last thread completely, so I thought we could have one more for the year. It should see us through the Christmas Special (which I'm really looking forward to!) too

Yes I feel for Mrs Cohen who has found it very hard coming to terms with the split - she recently wrote on twitter. I have no respect for Kristina announcing it in CBB like that. What on earth is the matter with her. She seems desperate for publicity.

She's up for eviction so she probably announced it to try and stay in.

Mrs Cohen is Ben Cohen's estranged wife. They're not divorced yet. Ben Cohen is having a baby with Kristina.

Yes, Abby and Ben Cohen are still married and he had an affair with Kristina when partnering her on Strictly. Now he has split with his wife. They have two small children and I feel sorry for Abby because she has struggled to come to terms with this split. Kristina's actions seem insensitive to announce this pregnancy on CBB.

They claim that they didn't get together until after Ben and Abby separated, a year after he partnered Kristina on SCD. Only they know the truth so we can't really judge. I'm more concerned that Ben's twin daughters knew about the pregnancy before it was splashed all over the media, it's not fair if they've had to find out via playground gossip.

Yes Journalist Jane Moore has criticised Kristina for announcing this publicly in view of the fact his two children are going to be affected now by the change in family dynamics, and that they should be told privately.

As for when their affair started - well they met on Strictly, and as has been said elsewhere their 'blazing' on-screen chemistry was very obvious and his wife Abby did suspect something and kept asking him but many times he denied it.

Kristina won't be back on Strictly. There's clearly a hierarchy amongst the pros, the producer favourites, and Kristina has been tumbling down the pecking order for a while now. It doesn't help matters that her reputation is so tainted that she'd probably hinder the progress any celebrity she partnered, even if she had a Jay McGuinnes type brilliant dancer she'd struggle get them very far as seen when she had Simon Webbe. A large portion of Strictly viewers are women, and women don't like other women who steal husbands. And yes, I know the man in question has to want to be stolen, but a lot of women don't see it like that.

I don't know her, but she's made some very unwise decisions in her personal life. Shagging Vincent when he had a pregnant girlfriend at home and getting together with Ben when he was still married, she also had an affair with Corky Ballas from Dancing with the Stars and broke his marriage up as well.

Joe Calzaghe had a partner too, I think.

It's hard to reconcile this questionable sexual behaviour with the person everyone seems to say is lovely. I don't think she'll return to SCD - it's cosy family entertainment and very important to the BBC.

The men are to blame too, but this conversation is about KR. I'm not letting them off!

Abby Cohen should keep away from Twitter etc. Dignified silence is best.

Well IMO if the BBC want "cosy family entertainment" they should tell the judges to stop going on about chemistry then.

I can see how easy it must be to fall for someone you spend all that time with and if they feel the same it must be hard to resist a quick shag, though of course their marriages breaking up are sometimes a by product though not necessarily of course.

Simon Webbe was saved in the dance off for several weeks running. He was even saved rather controversially as I recall, over Pixie Lott. He was only a runner up because the judges engineered it for him to be there be ause for some reason the public just didn't engage with him.

Simon Webbe struggled in the earlier stages but then suddenly got it and blossomed. ISTR he was having some problems generally and was massively grateful to Strictly and Kristina for restoring his confidence. The public were certainly engaging with him by the final when they voted him into the final three over Mark Wright. That dance he and Kristina did to "My Guy" (Foxtrot?) was absolutely lovely.

Yes I agree Gruntled I really liked Simon Webbe actually.

Also double checked - he wasn't saved "several weeks running", it was weeks 3, 5 and 11.

That a lot of times to be in the dance off though to be fair.

you can't steal a husband, he has a mind. blaming the OW is understandable. but I feel for K as she seems to get a lot of hate. she is a great dancer(I think) and will be a shame to not see her any more.

Yes, the blame lies with Ben but you have to question the morals of a woman who knowingly sleeps with married men, even worse a married man with young children. I just couldn't do it myself, but then I have a concience.

I totally agree with you Cheese - I've no idea at all how anyone can sleep with someone knowing they're married.
