We still seemed happy chatting and filled up the last thread completely, so I thought we could have one more for the year. It should see us through the Christmas Special (which I'm really looking forward to!) too Xmas Smile

I'm looking forward to more of Oti, did Tom mention doing stage or did they avoid it?

Redcrayons · 25/12/2015 22:46

That was a great show tonight. Tom Harry and Abbey were fab.

I think Jo will be getting the ringer next year, they obviously can't get KFG to win. Wink

MrsJamin · 26/12/2015 07:59

I really hope jo has good partner next year, I love watching her dance, and ballroom normally makes me a bit bored. It was a deserved win, their Dance was just beautiful.

comeagainforbigfudge · 26/12/2015 08:11

Well I fair enjoyed the special. It was interesting watching how Natalie and Robin both matched their dance to their partners so as not to outshine them.

I wonder if Robin will be back next year too.

And what was with abbey not even turning to acknowledge aljaz when brendan was talking to him? Very weird!

I'm glad harry won. As much as jo grates on my nerves, she is a beautiful dancer.

Hope everyone had a lovely day yesterday Xmas Smile

I thought Cassidy was great , only the second dance he's learnt. Ignoring the fact he's doing it on a blade ( inspirational felt so patronising on the prog) he did really well, obviously had the performance elements and musicality as well as the actual moves.

Redcrayons · 26/12/2015 09:34

Well, Cassidy is a bit of a ringer. He had danced a lot in his younger days, so not exactly a novice. his People's strictly story was about him getting back to dancing as he thought he'd never be able to do it again after losing his leg. That said he might never have done the jive before and he was really good.

TheDrsDocMartens · 26/12/2015 10:20

It can't be the easiest dance on a blade. Particularly with lifts.

Redcrayons · 26/12/2015 11:13

Ah, I was being a bit pedantic about you saying it's only the second dance he's ever learned. I sound like a twat though, so ignore me.

He was fab, and was very lovely and humble on people's Strictly.

TheDrsDocMartens · 26/12/2015 11:37

No it's fine, I had forgotten that!
But that puts him on a level field with Tom & Harry then.

oneowlgirl · 26/12/2015 12:07

Really enjoyed the show. I don't get their obsession with Lisa Snowdon though - why was she brought back??

TurduckenForDinner · 26/12/2015 13:51

Where is Cassidy's accent from? I can't place it.

TurduckenForDinner · 26/12/2015 13:58

I'm re-watching the whole thing now. I think the quality of the dances was fabulous, and tbh shows up how much lower the standard was of this season's Strictly than it usually is.

Behooven · 26/12/2015 14:07

I can't wait for next years Strictly. Two new female dancers for Ola and Aliona?

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 26/12/2015 15:12

Maybe just one, if Jo has a partner?

Cassidy's Canadian. He seems charming, but I find it a bit difficult to forgive him for the fact that Annawozrobbed.

UnGoogleable · 26/12/2015 16:12

I've just watched it on catchup.

I don't get why Lisa Snowdon is such favourite either.

I think they should have made it all previous champions - I felt a bit sorry for Alison, although she clearly had fun, it felt a bit like she was brought in for the 'fun' element.

I think Abbey is dead behind the eyes. I was always convinced there was something going on between her and Aljaz jealous perhaps she was gutted to be paired with Brendan this time.

I thought Tom came across as really up himself. Glad Harry won.

Jo is so very obviously going to be lined up as a pro next year.

TheBestChocolateIsFree · 26/12/2015 16:43

I thought that Alijaz was radiating warm pride while Abbey was giving her post-dance interview. Real "that's my girl!" moment.

TurduckenForDinner · 26/12/2015 17:00

Does Shirley Bassey have a portrait in the attic? I swear she looks exactly the same as she did when I was a child, and I'm nearly 50. Shock

TurduckenForDinner · 26/12/2015 17:04

Thanks, TheBest, I can hear it now, he has quite a bit of a UK intonation too which makes it hard to place to the underlying accent.

digerd · 26/12/2015 17:43

And her upper arms are no batwings either. But the most extraordinary thing is her magnificent voice.

I thought Brucie looked very fragileSad

Behooven · 26/12/2015 19:55

She just opens her mouth and Boom! What a voice she has.
Yes, Brucie looked frail didn't he, shame.

scarlets · 26/12/2015 22:54

Shirley Bassey has genuine star quality. She's majestic.

I think I'm probably the only viewer who doesn't like Oti and will miss Aliona. The latter is reportedly unhappy about the gossip surrounding her friendship with Jay.

If Kristina were to stay, the producers may be mischievous and pair her with the hot married twentysomething celeb. I remember how the camera panned to Peter Crouch when his wife was partnered with a piece of physical perfection - talk about a rictus smile! They like a bit of stirring.

Dipankrispaneven · 26/12/2015 23:26

Jo is so very obviously going to be lined up as a pro next year.

Well, given that she was one last year and was kept very much in the public eye this year, that's hardly a surprise. I think most of us assumed from the beginning that she'd be back next year.

UnGoogleable · 27/12/2015 00:15

Why wasn't Jo a pro this year then?

Dipankrispaneven · 27/12/2015 00:23

Wasn't there some suggestion that they were originally going to have another male celebrity to make the numbers even, but it fell through?
