Morning all! Lovely Christmas wreaths Rich I am really envious. I expect I will drag my old artificial one out of the loft eventually but probably not until next weekend when I will start the process of trying to make this house look Christmassy! I've got a bit of a busy stressy period at work right up to Christmas Eve so I don't think I'm going to really feel all that festive until I finally get my work done and can relax a bit.

I have good intentions for today which include writing Christmas cards (not done on Thursday as planned), cleaning, tidying and shopping but it remains to be seen what will actually happen.

Looking forward to SCD tonight - 2 dances each and they are all so good. Watching It Takes Two looks like there are a lot of people willing Jay to win. He is very good and I like the fact that he's grown in confidence but I haven't quite warmed to him in general even though he comes across as a very nice chap. A little bit concerned for Georgia because they've only had two days to do one of their dances which was changed - a bit unfair and I don't know why that was. Anyway, they say that a certain road is paved with good intentions so I'd better try to put mine into practice. Will be back at 6.50 pm to join with any other SCD watchers and chatters. Good luck for those shopping today. Really cannot be bothered today. Trying to stay away from the shops as much as possible, just need a puncture repair kit as have a flat buggy tyre then will try and finish writing the cards I need to post. The rest can wait till next week.

Yeah kelly dog is on the mend i think. Just waiting for some lab tests to come back but think she might have eaten something a bit dead. Seems better now though.....

Finally managed to catch up with posts. Yes to SB in Sharpe and Lady Chatterley . Not over impressed with films on over Xmas might have to work my way through sharpe box set along with rewatching OG of course

Still absolutely pouring with rain here. Even the back garden is under water in a couple of places which is very unusual. Nothing compared with what the people in Cumbria are having to put up with though.

Having a late lunch and watching episode 4 of Our Girl. They're just about to kiss too.

pixie I love your commitment to Xmas shopping in the pub, Christmas cheer right??! I've been making a red wine and port gravy, topped up with beef stock as I was sampling the wine during cooking and now not enough for the recipe!

Haha you're a shopping ninja pixie. Trying to muster the enthusiasm to venture forth myself but the fire, hot choc with Baileys and my snuggle blanket code name for Rupe is winning out at present.

Love your wreaths richtea. Dp makes ours but the holly berry situation this year isn't looking too great.

The weather's horrendous here today. Absolutely thick of snow in most places. Drivings quite dangerous really. I ventured out earlier this afternoon to finish off Xmas shopping when weather wasn't too bad. Why couldn't the weather have been like this next week when kids are off and I don't have to go anywhere before Xmas?? do I sound selfish?

I do like your style too pix. Sounds like you're as cheesed off with Xmas shopping as I am. Glad I've bleeding finished it.

Also when I got home I had a lovely parking fine waiting for me in the post.

kelly what a nightmare about the parking fine, did you suspect you would be getting one? Does the snow make you feel more Christmassy? We haven't had snow for so long, I love the thought of it but then want it to disappear after a day.

I'm all ready for guests to arrive, DH watching football....so no assistance in the kitchen! So just poured one for myself.

pixie meant to say before, that in a drunken moment when I went to Fortnums I bought a very expensive bottle of Gin, yet to be opened but I'll let you know the verdict when it's opened. Probably will be wasted on me!

Yes I had a feeling rich. I was at the hairdressers and the private car park next door had changed their rules so I didn't realise until I was over my allowed free time, that I might be charged. I think you're only allowed an hour free. I need to pay it quick otherwise they double the charged amount!

Not feeling too Christmassy yet. I will next week when I haven't got to do the school run in the snow - eek!
