Ouch with playing the cancer card pix no need for that. Me and DP continue to live in sin much to mils upset and she continues to ask constantly when we will get married.... um we werent planning too goes down well! Also getting 'when are you having another baby' FFS same answer!!

Just finished counting the money and separating the raffle tickets in readiness for tomorrow's draw. I am quite shocked, in a good way, that the extra cash which came in this afternoon and which I didn't have time to count, is very substantial. It makes our total £1,313 since October and then a further £320 from our plant sale in May - £1,633 for the year and a grand total of £29,613 over the years.

Think I deserve some wine tomorrow night to celebrate our efforts!

mads i remember the moment of moving the DS into his own room...felt like he was leaving home actually next door.cried more then than when he went off to uni!!

Report from the spa..thanks for all your support. Bit of a gentler day, Pilates, vibrogym,aquafit followed by a massage and facial, hopefully the aches are going to be less tonight!

In my lovely little fluffy alternative CJ bubble, he arrives on the first flight out of Glasgow into Manchester tomorrow so I have to go to the airport to collect him.

He texted earlier (surprised that Jen let him out of her sight even for a moment on his last night) to tell me where to meet him. I hope he's not going to be sulky about who's driving when I pick him up. I can't do with that at 8am! I'm taking him into work. He's suggested he offers himself as a raffle prize at our event tomorrow. He's been into my office before so knows the set-up and that all the ladies (and indeed some of the men) were drooling over him. We've agreed on a separate raffle for which I am going to rig the draw - I expect it to be a great moneyspinner!

pixie we do have 600 people on site, so plenty of cake to go round...

BK I echo what others have said. To me, a spa break involves lots of treatments and very little exercise! You are very brave doing a more boot camp approach to it all.

pix we did have a drunken conversation a few years ago about disappearing abroad and doing it but my parents would be so upset if we had done that.

Evening all.

Just got in from the pictures. I went with my Dad to see Bridge of Spies - the Tom Hanks Cold war film. It was pretty good as it was directed by Steven Spielberg and he's my fave director.

rhu really sorry to hear about your scare. Yes to hopefully now you can look forward to the festive season with a load off your mind. Flowers

ilove wow fantastic totals. Star Judging by the FB pics, there was quite a queue to try the cakes!

Re: MIL convos. Mine apparently seems disappointed continuously in me since the day we got engaged. She couldn't have sounded less unhappy when we told her. Oh well, it just means I'll have to spend the next 30 years or so continuing that pattern of disappointment for her-ha!

pix no, your MIL shouldn't be playing the cancer card.

Ooh, new thread! Hello all, CJ is keeping me and my hands occupied so often that I've not had a chance to get on but plenty of chances to get off Grin

Ah mother in laws, don't you just love them not? Mine played the 'you must be getting married now, surely,' card when I got rather unexpectedly knocked up at uni, but we managed to resist for a good few years until we fancied a party felt ready to go for it.

rhu, how do you actually find out the SCD results on a Saturday, is it readily available? I had noticed the betting odds on a Sunday tended to give the game away a bit at times! Although I think the semis and final results might be live so probably not relevant for this year! Glad you got some good health news Smile

Morning all. Just waiting for CJ to get a takeaway coffee for the journey up the M6. Got a surprise to find him coming through Arrivals at the airport in full dress uniform. He reckons it will help sell the raffle tickets......

I think he may well shout at me when he sees the state of my car as it's filthy with all the torrential rain we've had. I bet he's going to remind me how BK has everything bright and shiny for him in her numerous vehicles.
