I'm not lying about how much I love textiles, I have a cupboard full of African cloth that I take out and admire occasionally. MrP can't understand why I don't use it.

Working my way through a tin of Quality Street while watching Take Me Out and Take Me Out The Gossip. Me and DH enjoy laughing at the funny things the girls say to guys they would love to go on a date with. Smile

mooj and pixie my weakness is for china mugs. I could probably go for at least two months drinking tea and coffee in a different one each time without needing to wash any!

You sound like my Mam ilove as she literally has tons of mugs. Ones she has no room for she passes down to me.

pixieA my dad used to have a stationary business, not good for his profits!!! But we always had fab pencil cases. My mum used to paint, oils and watercolours so very handy!!!!

I also have a stash of fabric, and plenty of plans for it, but never get round to it!! Like the sound of your fabrics. Smile

Jen glad it made you laugh. I told you they were weird. When we were engaged and I used to spend the weekend at his house, I knew they had been through my things I had left there. They (ie, his mother undoubtedly) used to hide my dressing gown because she hated the thought that we slept together. It always used to reappear in one of the spare bedrooms. She was from a different planet, I'm sure of it!

Kelly I am at the point now that if somebody buys me one for a birthday or Christmas present, I have to throw one out. Usually I take it to work and leave it in the kitchen as a spare.

nickel love wool!!! I learnt how to knit last January (New Years resolution to stop drinking... Use hands for something else!) although can only do plain stuff. Made loads of squares and sewed them together!

I always feel sad for you when you mention your MIL ilove Jeez. She sounded like something else.

Report
Ilovelblue · 02/01/2016 22:38

Haha Kelly, don't feel sad - that's why I detached myself from them all! She's dead now anyway. I remember debating whether to send a sympathy card or not. My ex didn't when my Dad died but I decided to take the moral high ground and send one - made sure it was the cheapest I could find though. I always remember her ringing my Mum up when we were engaged and telling her it was time she taught me how to sew properly! I expect she thought I was going to spend all my spare time sewing buttons on shirts and mending socks.

I did think of you when I typed that pix Wink

rich, that's brilliant - I love knitting, got a little blanket thing on the go at the moment , and I taught myself to crochet a couple of years ago, which I really like but am not very good at! I can't read patterns very well, so it takes me a long time to do anything news, cos I have to keep going back to my very old "Learn to Crochet" ladybird book, from when I was a kid!! I was trying to teach my DS, and although his little scarf for his teddy, that he started, is a bit, um, rustic, he did say "this is quite relaxing, isn't it" ... I was so chuffed! Mind, he's not picked it up since school broke up!!!

When I drop stitches in my knitting a say they are "button holes". My excuse! How cute doing scarves for teddies. NO One would want my knitting. My blanket of squares is called my granny blanket!

Have a lovely meet up ladies Smile.
Bit of a knitter/sewing/crochet bod here tooSmile started a patchwork quilt years ago but sewing machine has seen the light of day in a long, long time so not sure I'll ever finish. Also have a crochet book to make DS a load of animals but he will probably be mid twenties by the time I finish Confused. Clearly I had unrealistic plans for my maternity leave!!

Has anyone else heard this-that Georgia and Sean are supposed to gave split up? Just read it online. Whether it's true or not I don't know.

I had noticed he had gone quiet on Twitter Kelly, it's a shame if it's true; imagine having all of your early 20's break ups and hook ups plastered all over the paper.
