Oh ice hope you are okay and all of you in the areas that are being affected

icemistOBE · 26/12/2015 17:21

We think we are just far enough from river (4 streets from it) just being cautious.

Onlygirljen · 26/12/2015 17:28

Oh god ice that's horrendous, hope you are all ok!

pixieg1rl · 26/12/2015 17:39

Oh no ice, good idea to get the precious stuff upstairs (that includes CJ, right?). Stay dry.

moojangles · 26/12/2015 17:46

Seems like the right thing to do. Have just seen it all on the news. Stay safe and dry

icemistOBE · 26/12/2015 18:25

So full of buffet and baby asleep so time to veg on the sofa all night Xmas Grin

Onlygirljen · 26/12/2015 21:03

Thanks mads, he stopped being sick late afternoon and is thankfully in bed now so just hoping nobody else comes down with it Confused

Going to sit down with a glass of wine shortly, keeping fingers crossed for no 4am vomit wake ups this time!!

KellyHb · 26/12/2015 22:11

Thinking of you ice. Hope your house stays safe. Flowers

Me and DH have done all kids baths, wrapped presents for in laws and done a bit of packing for going away tomorrow. Hopefully we'll leave before dinnertime.

Hopefully your DS is on the mend now Jen.

Just watched 2 episodes of that Dickensian programme. It was pretty good. Recorded And There Were None to watch when I get home in a couple of days.

I just realised this is the first time I've gone to my in-laws since writing on MN shows how often I visit them I hope she's got Wi-Fi! I still need my daily dose of you ladies while I'm away.

Kids still have coughs/colds mads but see in the morning if they're up to the 4 hour drive. Confused

Ilovelblue · 26/12/2015 22:18

Hi all. I spoke too soon about the floods. The river has burst its banks but I'm a mile away uphill so not affected by that but the garden was under three inches of water earlier on today. Never, ever seen it like that. I needed to go to the supermarket this morning for more cough mixture and got caught up in a flooded road. I'm ok - I know what to do - but the problem is when the driver in front of you starts to panic and I think she's going to stall the engine!

Friends have just gone after a late afternoon buffet so I have some washing up to do. Off to Manchester for the sales tomorrow.

Really tired tonight but that could be down to the amount of alcohol consumed! Just watching the second half of Downton. Rhubarb have you seen it yet?

Richtea19 · 26/12/2015 23:05

I've just seen the news and I'm shocked with all the floods! Ice ilove thoughts and prayers to you and hope you and your families are safe.

I was shocked with the pictured from York too. I can't believe we were only there last week and also Manchester next weekend too. What is happening to our weather!

On a brighter note Nickel how exciting to get the tweet doe our wonderful BA. I do really believe that it's

Richtea19 · 26/12/2015 23:06

Oops that's the wine and baileys!

Meant to say nickel i think you made an impression on BA!! Grin

KellyHb · 26/12/2015 23:52

ilove ice thoughts and hugs to you both. Indeed hope you both stay safe over the coming hours. Just watched the news reports about it.

Ilovelblue · 26/12/2015 23:56

Thanks Richtea. One of the affected villages in Lancashire is Whalley which they seem to have shown on all the news bulletins (I'm about 15 miles from there) and I went with a friend for lunch there at the beginning of December and today there is water pouring down the main street. Closer to home is Walton le Dale and I often used to take my dog down there when we were doing a long walk.

What is everyone doing on Monday?

Richtea19 · 27/12/2015 00:06

Yes saw that village on the news ilove.

I could start a whole new thread about my Boxing Day! Mainly based around dreadful MIL, ahhhhhh! Who really doesn't see eye to eye with my dad! DH "spongy brother and new girlfriend" who popped in for a drink "unannounced" without drink. Overstayed their welcome, my face unfortunately says it all (i would be rubbish at cards!) they eventually went when we didn't offer them any more to drink. I'm now in bed, along with dad and kids and DH is with MIL , which is really all she wants!

One more day with her..... Thank god for Baileys and Quality Street!

pixieg1rl · 27/12/2015 00:12

Had a lovely day with brother and his family. I got all the boys giant glow sticks and they were running around outside playing Star Wars in the garden until about 8. I'm really going to have to dry out a bit tomorrow, another evening of lots of wine, cheese and chocolate.

Glad to hear you're ok ilove, hope all is ok with ice as well. Hope all kids are recovering as well.

Nickel45 · 27/12/2015 00:24

ilove, ice, kel and anyone else affected. Hope you are all ok, thinking of you xx

rich not long, you're nearly there xx sending hugs [hug]
Note to MNHQ can we have a hug smiley please :)

I think BA was pretty chuffed and a bit overwhelmed when we talked with him rich, he did say he never thought CJ would be so big or maybe that was in my imagination .... maybe he said popular?!. I did decide that he probably isn't as shy as we think he is though, he seemed quite confident, such a lovely bloke though :) just wish we'd though to take stuff to get autographs, like pens!!!!! wycombe, next time we need to be more prepared! I don't think either of us thought, for one minute, that we'd actually get to meet him, I thought they'd all be ushered away, it was purely by chance he headed our way, to get some of his stuff. So, so lucky :)

I'm at my mums now, had a lovely gale force windswept walk on the sea wall this afternoon in the hope of wearing the kids out - it didn't work, but I fell asleep on the lounge floor! DH coming over in a few days for one night ... Probably works out bet that way!

Early start again in the morning, kids seem to need less sleep than me. Night all xx

Rhubarb01 · 27/12/2015 00:42

Evening/Morning all. Popping in quite late. Hope everything's OK ice and ilove. We're fortunate not to live anywhere near a river that could flood but I've often wondered what I'd do if we were at risk. Definitely move your valuable and precious things. Fingers crossed for you that everything's OK.

We've had a quiet Boxing Day here, just lounging about doing our own stuff and eating and drinking. We're off to my family tomorrow for the day as I usually don't see them on Christmas Day but there's not usually any drama. We go to my in-laws for a few hours on Christmas Day afternoon and I feel really fortunate that it's all amicable, everyone gets on and they're pretty easy going.

Ilove I did watch Downton yesterday - it was as expected. I watched with DD and we pretty much predicted every character outcome before it happened but that's OK it was the end - not a patch on OG mind you. I did find myself really enjoying looking at the costumes however - I suppose that says it all!

Hope all the little ones are feeling better soon and any family trials and tribulations are short-lived and everyone can relax soon. Safe journey Kelly.

icemistOBE · 27/12/2015 07:27

All safe Smile

Good news ice Smile

Another vomit fest here last night, still just the youngest, nobody else showing any signs. Really hoping the worst of it is over now, poor little thing is exhausted. Sad

LolaKent14 · 27/12/2015 08:15

Morning everyone and a belated merry Christmas! I'm afraid to say the main day passed in a haze as we were given a magnum of Tattinger and a case of wine from Scicily arrived so yesterday was a tough day! I survived on water all day. I had to cook yesterday as well oh dear never again.... Well until the next time I guess.
I missed the excitement at BA tweet. But love stern face reference as we talked about that when we met him last month.
I imagine a slightly tipsy Ben tweeting whilst Looking like this!
