Hope you all had a lovely day! Ours was fantastic as my parents came over and spent the day with us. The boys have coughs and a bit of cold but they knew this and Dad still wanted to come so it was up to them.

DH cooked the meal well and I did my very important job of topping up peoples glasses.

About to have my seasonal Turkey, coleslaw, cranberry sauce & mint sauce sandwiches don't ask I know its weird but tastes lovely

I'm hardly a Delia or a Nigella but pleased my ham recipe was a success pixie. I'm doing it tomorrow for friends (including my £10 charity shops presents lady).

Talking of those presents, I hadn't realised just how shte some of them are until today when I studied them properlyl The notebook could possibly be meant to be distressed or it could just be old and a bit mangled and the drawer liners should definitely be perfumed so God only knows how old they are. I feel I'm in good company with you pixie* on the Christmas present front. Just Googled Woolworths and they closed in 1997!

Morning all from a very, very wet Lancashire. Had 2 inches of rain so far since yesterday morning and two flood alerts locally though I'm a good mile away from the river and it would have to go uphill to reach me. I can't begin to imagine how those poor folk in Cumbria are coping. There's just no end to it.

We had a good one apart from going over to see mil and DS having a major meltdown after a couple of hours so we left. don't blame him really
Of to my parents today for a Buffett and is usually very relaxed, most looking forward to no washing up or cooking!!

Hope you're keeping dry ilove, the pictures look horrible; what a grim time some people are having of it. It's ridiculously mild here; like a March day and nothing like December at all.

My friend from work who lives about 15min walk away, house is flooding

I've just caught the end of the news and feel so sorry for the people affected. It mentioned the North East. Its raining here but no flooding or anything.

I was thinking of you ilove when it mentioned Lancashire but its good that you live uphill and are safe.

My parents friends live in the Lancashire area but think they're okay.

It make you wonder whether it's safe to travel tomorrow but I think were alright on the A1 and down into the Midlands.

Footbridge been taken out by force of river. Asda near us is shut and 2 roads into centre of town both closed. Other end of our street and beyond have no electric. Moved boys toys and sentimental, valuable stuff upstairs, just in case
