Ah ilove that mads me giggle a bit at your friends thriftiness. I suppose people do say its the thought that counts but she shouldn't really have pointed it out so much me thinks.

I've picked up the Turkey in all its raw glory (not literally, its in a tin) its in the conservatory at the moment and wrapped up. My Mam covered it in butter before I left and she wrote down instructions for us so hopefully we shouldn't go too wrong famous last words

Ah ice. That's gorgeous!!! If BA's in S2 and there's no sniff of a scene of these two together, I'll be absolutely gutted.

Awe ice that's lovely thank you managed to get my dog to respond to a CJ inspired head nod now!
Right off for a glass of baileys. Barely drunk anything alcoholic since having DS so am a total lightweight!

Kelly and Maddie - I quite enjoy a nosey around the charity shops so the fact they came from there doesn't worry me at all, but you're right, she shouldn't have made such a point of it. The M&S drawer liners are in a box which is a bit battered as well. I enjoy doing eBay as well and her parting comment was "You can sell things on eBay if you want, I won't mind!" Aaaaagh.

Glad the mince pies worked out ok Nickel. My friend's two kids wolfed them down.

Just waiting for the kids to go to sleep so Santa can come and I can go to sleep!

My son put himself to bed early which is unheard of. I'm bracing myself for a 5am wake up by drinking prosecco and eating quality street

If you're on Twitter I recommend following @rhodri who is tweeting photos of people's beds as they go to stay with families for Xmas. Hilarious.

A very merry Christmas to you all! We're about to take the obligatory traditional photo of the 'kids' (Yes ds is 19) holding their Christmas sacks in front of the fireplace. Then Santa is looking forward to downing the generous glass of Baileys that's been left out.

Merry Christmas everyone! Managed to finish work on the 23rd but it took me until about quarter to twelve last night to do everything including wrapping the last presents. Anyway, everyone seems reasonably happy with what Father Christmas brought them and I am now spending the traditional morning cooking accompanied by Ed Stewart's Junior Choice - ah childhood memories. Off to the in-laws after lunch for a while then back to veg in front of the TV offerings - confession - looking forward to Downton's final goodbye.
