Turkey was a disaster ilove. DH came in not long after I put it in. We've never had a Turkey breast joint and it was as hard as anything. Far too chewy. We'd bought a couple and were trying one for Xmas Day but I think I'll resort to hoping my Mam finds a FrozenTurkey crown somewhere.

Have a look on the internet about the WW2 thing at Betty's ilove. Its really interesting to see it.

Oh dear Kelly, that doesn't sound good. I don't really like turkey because it's so dry. I think you need to cover it in butter and bacon and then at least you've got something to eat if the turkey turns out shite.

Sounds like a tiring day ilove, you always get so much done with the boys. I've hidden in the kitchen for most of the day because DS has been an absolute horror all weekend. I keep trying to remind myself that he's probably tired, but he'd try the patience of a saint at the moment.

pixie the difference with these two lads is that I can give them back at the end of the day or when they start annoying me! Did rather feel today that my friend was taking the mick though. I was getting ready to deliver them back home when she rang to say she was still out and about (with her new boyfriend) having a late lunch at 4.30pm. Need to watch this I think.

Yeah ilove I would watch that.... You don't want it to keep getting later. Anyway enough of me thinking of myself in BAs lap I must tackle some of my giant ironing pile then more wrapping. Might treat myself to a bit of OG as MrMads has lgone to bed. Xmas shopping has been too much for him Hmm

I checked the paper of the Turkey before I put it in pix but strangely it said put it in the oven as is. If I had a good cooking imagination I shouldve covered it with something.

DH has just opened a tin of Heroes and left it open right next to me. That's going to test my self control.

Kelly I picked up a reduced turkey breast in Tesco ages ago (after Easter quite possibly) but I wasn't impressed with it when I cooked it. Don't think I read the instructions but like pixie said, I covered it in bacon and butter. My Mum always used to save butter papers - you got the moisture from the butter and the paper was instead of tinfoil. Always worked for her.

Maybe you didn't cook it for long enough Kelly? I usually find the cooking time isn't long enough on the printed labels of meat.
