And on we dance ...

MovemberSucks · 28/11/2015 20:23

I think it will be Kellie and Peter in the dance off. I'm keeping everything crossed that Peter leaves this time. After last week's fuss the judges would surely think twice before saving him again.

ThursdayLastWeek · 28/11/2015 20:25

Marking my place Smile

I smoked DH out if his hiding place by wafting a cooked fish pie around.

AnyoneButAndre · 28/11/2015 20:26

Marking place on new thread. I think Kellie did sufficiently well in the main show to be safe when/if she hits the DO. I voted Anita x2 Katie x1

Fiderer · 28/11/2015 20:28

Cooked fish pie Thursday?

MI6 were advertising on here a couple of weeks back, you may not be too late to apply Grin

Bring it on Jay ! - he did really well tonight I thought. Amazing tango and I love that song.

I also really liked Helen's dance - despite the fact that she always looks as if she could do with a chaise longue to swoon onto.

Kellie got the dressing up box rejects to wear again, she looks very tired I reckon and they could have at least made some attempt to match her fake top knot to her real hair.

Really didn't like Anita's dance - amazed only Len mentioned the lift - Craig usually goes apoplectic over them as well. I thought it was very stuttery in places. I just don't get the Gleb thing - that arrogant, pseudo commanding stuff leaves me cold - he seems to have absolutely no personality at all.

I thought Craig's comment about Peter and the cupcake was spot on - it was really clumsily done (stupid bit of choreography IMO - not necessarily NPP's fault)

If Peter is in the DO surely they can't come up with any excuse to save him this time - he was bottom in everything.

DansonslaCapucine · 28/11/2015 20:29

I voted for Anita. Thought she and Jay were amazing. Don't think Jay will need my vote though.

Don't let me regret that.

I'm sick of the judges dodgy voting. Even my Dad (who is 65) said that Gleb's choreography is too av-ante garde for the judges. He meant it as a criticism of the judges.

Arghh!

ilovesooty · 28/11/2015 20:30

Going bonkers on Digital Spy.

GruntledOne · 28/11/2015 20:31

It would be interesting if it's Helen v Peter in the DO. They would be left with no choice at all provided that she doesn't fall over.

DansonslaCapucine · 28/11/2015 20:32

What are they saying Sooty? I'll be popping over later to find out who's out.

TillyButton · 28/11/2015 20:33

Thanks for new thread Fiderer. The mighty Monk seal (he does the hilarious Strictly blog)says that ,when Georgia says Giovanni in her Bury accent, it sounds like Joe Varney Grin

Au revoir NPP !!!!!

Fiderer · 28/11/2015 20:34

Didn't Craig mention Gleb's choreography? Wish they'd comment on that aspect more because it's the pro's job to

a) do it
b) make sure it suits the contestant

Did anyone notice that creepy grin Pa did when he realised he'd come last in the quickstepathon as well? His smile never reaches his eyes. Ever.

iklboo · 28/11/2015 20:35

Popping along with my box of wine gums (hands round) for SCD jollities. Peter's quickstep was awful tonight. Has he given up?

Fiderer · 28/11/2015 20:37

Tilly Thank you Grin

Must stop skip-reading the Mighty Monkseal at a daft hour. He's so witty, he deserves more.

OP posts:
HSMMaCM · 28/11/2015 20:39

So glad PA lost the quickstep

digerd · 28/11/2015 20:40

In the Quickstep-a-thon, the cameras were on Pete and Jay the longest. Jay was super with his upper body sway and while turning he spots and whips his head round, looking very polished.
Ballet training teaches this in all its turning steps. Pete was somewhat at a loss but don't think it's fair to judge the celeb men against the ladies.
Craig said it is more difficult for the male celebs.

I 'd be surprised if Pete is not in the bottom 2 again. But who will join him I don't know.

GlitteryRollers · 28/11/2015 20:40

Out of all the couples I also think that Peter and Janette have the most strained relationship. I don't think she really likes him at all, where as the others all seem to genuinely like each other and have a real raport.

emotionsecho · 28/11/2015 20:40

I voted Jay and Anita.

My thoughts on tonight:

Jay and Aliona, excellent Tango, loved it.
Helen's and Alijaz's dance was very good, a very traditional Viennese Waltz.
Katie and Anton, much better AT than expected not the best I've seen but certainly not the worst.
Kellie and Kevin, the salsa was alright but just didn't have a wow factor for me and she was a bit bow-legged in parts of it.
Georgia and Giovanni, Paso was good but not great and didn't compare with Anita's last week.
Anita and Gleb, I thought she did that Rumba really well, it's such an exposing dance but I felt she pulled it off better than most.
NPP and Janette, American Smooth that wasn't very smooth. Len said he was 'off' in hold but I thought he was worse out of hold he seemed to be very flat-footed and stompy on his own.

As an aside, I really can't bear the thought of NPP doing an Argentine Tango I would definitely need a sick bucket.

The quickstep-a-thon was difficult to judge, but I do feel it was rather unfair to the male celebrities because as Craig said they don't have the floor craft of the male pros which takes years to learn.

I would so like to see NPP in the Dance Off again - do you think they would dare save him this time?

chicaguapa · 28/11/2015 20:45

I voted for Jay, Georgia and Anita. I'd be happy to see all these 3 in the final and for either Jay or Georgia to win.

Though this week was the first time I've enjoyed watching Helen dance. The Viennese Waltz was beautiful.

I'm so glad Joe Varney is doing well, both in the competition with Georgia but also coming across well as a Pro. It means we'll see more of him. Grin

Minimammoth · 28/11/2015 20:49

Marking place

Fiderer · 28/11/2015 20:51

Despite watching SCD for years I must admit I am a bit (erm) lacking on the technical front. Gapping, heel leads, in hold/out of hold & loads more.

Jay seems to me to lack spark.
Kellie is v bouncy but annoyingly so.
Georgia seems to have the know-how (potential) and the spark.
Anita too but she can't quite synchronise the two.
Katie & Anton have gone as far as they can.

Not like you to be grumpy Maryz Wink

Agree if it is unfair, and Craig was v honest about that, then why do it?

Actually why do it at all? Seemed a bit gimmicky to me.

Bugger that. Ask him. You need it at the very least to get over the C'mas food shopping on Nov 28th.
