KellyHb · 27/11/2015 09:40

Morning all.

Best of British this morning pix.

I'm going to try my luck with this Black Friday business going to the shops this afternoon with my Mam. Eek! I should probably wear some steel toe capped boots for safety!

Hope you have a lovely meet up ladies in Manchester when you have it!! Wine

I'm down your way on the Xmas holidays pix if you fancy meeting up? Smile

pixieg1rl · 27/11/2015 09:54

Ahhhhh I've got meet up jealous too! You'll all have to join BA stalking in Exeter Grin

pixieg1rl · 27/11/2015 11:03

I'm in a complete state of denial about mammograms ilove, they sound horrific.

Poor you mads, you are a long way from anyone (well except for BA, nice and close for him). I'll give you warning next time I'm down Devon way. Gives me a good excuse to get away from the in-laws (though last time I tried that it turned into a family outing) when we visit

KellyHb · 27/11/2015 11:26

Yey pix!

I always feel out the way oop north. I wish I lived closer to London and would love to live in BA country like you mads. I never get further than Asda, kids school or home.

One day I'll definately knock on your door mads for some exciting BA stalking. It has to be done. Smile

Well a pouring with rain Black Friday non-event shopping-wise was improved by a pop-up Army Recruiting van parked in the high street. One soldier in particular was almost CJ-like, tall and mighty fine, if a tad too young, but the other two were a sweet little Gurkha type and a dumpy middle-aged baldy, but 1/3 ain't bad. Unfortunately my bag handle snapped right by the van and I felt a little faint and needed to get out of the rain, so took advantage of Sargeant Dumpy's hospitality and perused a few leaflets as well as Pte Hotties bum before a lengthy discussion with Sargeant Dumpy about signing up my wayward eldest DS for 10 years service. Sadly, Pte Hottie spent most of the time on his phone rather than selling army life to me but I came away with plenty of leaflets to throw in the recycling bin and most of my ovaries still intact unlike pixs today Grin

KellyHb · 27/11/2015 13:05

Grin woof.

I've had the first of I'm sure many quiet words from the twins teacher to say one had been very naughty in class today by throwing sand at another child! Quite mortified really and I hope I dont have angry parents having a word with me. Eek.

DD was always so good but these boys are something else.. Hmm

kuiakaituhi · 27/11/2015 13:08

Pixie Yep Tim Tams are good with tops and bottoms bitten off , suck tea or coffee through the rest. Double chocolate with strong espresso...YUm as!
Went supermarket shopping last evening, counted 12 different flavours. I have to be careful...I even look at stuff like that, I put weight on!

We had the Armed Forces recruitment truck at school for the last two days. Woof you would have had conniptions at the 6'3" officer in charge. Stunning, dark hair and eyes (probably part Maaori), spectacular smile. A lot of the senior girls went back several times to "talk" -ogle- him, He knew just what they were up to. Played them like fish, but kept the boundaries clear. Very clever, very pretty. Some of the teachers paid a few more visits than necessary, too.

Two am here, can't sleep, too hot.

cjwoofwoof · 27/11/2015 13:34

Ooh kuia the occupants of your Army Recruiting van sound a lot more attractive than mine today apart from the young one in very snug combats It reminds me of the time we had a school trip to the Fire Station and naturally I volunteered as a parent helper. Before I knew what I was doing liar I agreed to allow the Chief Fire Officer to dress me in the uniform and hat in front of the kiddies. I should point out it was over the top of my clothes obvs! Poor bloke didn't know which side of my ample décolletage to put the trouser braces, bless him, but I wasn't going to help him out - had the time of my life that day Grin

cjwoofwoof · 27/11/2015 13:41

Don't let a bit of sand throwing worry you kel. Try writing "pig" in indelible black ink on the back of a posh boys white shirt then denying it was you when your hand is plastered in ink. Yes, that was my life as a Year 1 child's parent back in the day, but you learn to look back and laugh...eventually, as well as not lingering for any length of time in the playground whilst other mothers nudge each other and point in your direction.

MaddieMoo82 · 27/11/2015 14:41

Ah kelly is it just a bit of end of week/close to Xmas excitement.? Either way I'm sure most people wouldn't mind a bit of sand thrown around....
And yes anyone in the Devon/Cornwall area ever let me know! It's a bit lonely down this end of the country!
woof is it your plan to enlist your son so you can attend all his parades, pass out ceremonies in the hope he has a hot CO you can perv over..... If so that's ingenious!! Grin

cjwoofwoof · 27/11/2015 15:08

That was my plan, yes mads but Sargeant Dumpy confirmed Squaddies Mums weren't allowed in the Officers Mess at Barracks, even if they were attired in revealing sparkly evening dress and best wolf fleece. Nor are they allowed to accompany said sons in war zones to make sure their vests are tucked in nor to help treat their Captain's blisters, sadly. Believe me, I did double-check Sad

moojangles · 27/11/2015 16:28

Sounds like we need to re-instate regional AGMs!

If you're missing the ogff qs?!?!

KellyHb · 27/11/2015 20:26

Finally sat down. It chucked it down today. I had the car when I was shopping so DH and the twins got soaked picking DD up from school. Bless. serves the naughty twin right Hmm

The shops were fairly quiet actually which was random. But then I heard it was because a lot of people were doing Black Friday shopping online.

Just finished watching the end of OG episode 3. Love the Rosabaya scene..Smile The chemistry's fab in it.

ice did you say you'd found another way to get the Rosabaya scene onto You Tube?

moojangles · 27/11/2015 20:33

Doing my bit for the nhs, am now officially part of national asthma treatment research project

KellyHb · 27/11/2015 20:38

Ah that's great mooj. Star

pixieg1rl · 27/11/2015 21:02

Well done mooj talking of asthma I'm in for a long night, DS has a cold and it's triggered his asthma. He's had so many puffs he's heading into hyper zone...

Anyone have any recommendations for family friendly short UK breaks. We've got a school inset day next week and I fancy a night or 2 away?

moojangles · 27/11/2015 21:09

Poor thingpixie, hope it settles

KellyHb · 27/11/2015 21:50

I've never even tried to attempt a family break away with my brood pix but I've heard Butlins, Centre Parks are pretty good. That's probs not much help.

Hope DS has a steady sleep at some point overnight pix. Ditto on inhalers, a twin's developed a bad cough from being wet today. He's had one not long ago but sounds like he needs another soon. Confused

MaddieMoo82 · 27/11/2015 22:42

Good luck with the project mooj hope it helps you and others

Hope your littles are ok pix and kelly

Heard good things about centre parcs pix. It is very expensive but it is off season and you might be able to get a last minute deal

Ilovelblue · 27/11/2015 23:16

Evening all. Fell asleep watching the news with the laptop on my knee. Had a glass of cider at my neighbour's house with tea - knocked me out!!

Hope the visit to the surgery/clinic went ok pixie. I've only had one mammogram so far but bloody hell, it hurt! You do well to block it out of your mind, but hopefully another 10 years before you have to think about them. I believe it depends how well endowed or otherwise you are. Another friend of mine who has a massive bust said she hardly felt a thing but even though I think I have a high pain threshold, I was actually at the point of shouting when the plates pressed down so hard. Not nice.

Really looking forward to meeting ice and Richtea. It will definitely be a nice ending to the holidays before the return to work on the Monday.

Been throwing it down all day here and never properly light. Set to be the same over the weekend so may be a good time to sort the Christmas presents out and write some cards.

Don't especially hold with this Black Friday thing - another Americanism we seem to have imported. However, I had spied out a cardigan I fancied and was on the verge of getting it last week but saw it on the website last night reduced from £35 to £13 so had to indulge. Certainly couldn't have been bothered fighting my way through the shops though. woof you were very brave. Did you get anything?

KellyHb · 28/11/2015 09:03

Morning all.

Sunny but freezing cold day here.

How's your DS this morning pix? Did you get much sleep? We were up most of the night with a coughing twin but he seems full of energy this morning.

I wanted the Xmas trees up today but think DH will say he's too tired to get them out the loft. We'll see how we get on later as we've got a few errands to run this morning as well.

pixieg1rl · 28/11/2015 09:22

The night wasn't too bad Kelly, 3 or 4 short wake ups. He's coughing and wheezing this morning but running about like a loon. I will be trying to keep him calm and rested all day Confused
