Morning all, pixie I hope you have a better day today.

I've escaped the house and popped to M&S to get a few Xmas pressys and now sitting in their cafe with a coffee and toasted tea cake. Feel really naughty as MIL due over this morning but bloody DH invites her over and then says he has to work, grrrrr. I'm going to relax and enjoy my coffee and read Jens update!

MaddieMoo82 · 28/11/2015 10:32

Morning all! Good work rich I have toasted tea cake jealously. Hope you manage to keep ds calm today pix I can't imagine that's easy.
Have a lovely weekend with CJ ice hopefully orph gave him a good send off Wink
Dreading this afternoon, off to a party at sils house. The reason for the party is great just don't fancy sitting around there all afternoon being told we don't participate enough in 'Family time'. No doubt she'll be dressed up as a fairy like usual and I'll have to spend the day trying to keep a straight face Hmm

icemistOBE · 28/11/2015 11:27

OMG I actually had a lie in this morning and woke up when the doorbell rang. CJ on the step, BK had dropped him off at the end of the street to nosy neighbours could see him. He's making himself at home in my bunker at the moment....

pixieg1rl · 28/11/2015 11:56

Is he giving you it a quick spit & polish ice?

OP posts:
icemistOBE · 28/11/2015 12:22

Just a quick one pixie Wink

KellyHb · 28/11/2015 14:22

Oo yes rich very jealous. I love the M&S cafe. I esp love their sausage toasties and iced raisin buns. Yum!

Hope the SIL party goes well this afternoon mads. Hopefully they'll have a drinks cupboard open so you can have a few tipples of this and that and have your own little party. Especially if you imagine CJ's visit to you soon. Smile

Went shopping with family this morning but boys were being twisty so we didn't stay long. Angry. We went out as well because DD was being fitted for some new glasses. Her previous pair were really nice but she needs a different style the optician said. I really don't like this new style as they look too thick and heavy for her. We've got to go back on Tuesday so I'll mention something to them then.

Afternoon everyone. It's never stopped raining here since about 11 am. I did a bit in the garden earlier and retreated into the greenhouse to do some potting up etc but eventually it was raining so hard, I ended up having to come indoors. Finished off a bottle of wine with lunch (big mistake) which was left over from when my friend came round on Thursday. Put the fire and the television on whilst I was eating, next thing I know it's nearly 3 pm and the cats are curled up next to me. Eeeek. Still tipping it down so I think I'm going to do some cooking for the freezer and then tackle the Christmas cards.

My friend with the financial problems told me she's due to have cognitive behavioural therapy. I know what it is (roughly) but does anyone have any experience of it? Is it one of those things you need to believe in to start off with for it to have any chance ot work?

ice what must CJ think of us! I'd forgotten he was due to arrive as well and he woke me up (sadly not quite the way he did in Jen's latest ff). Enjoy!

Who's going to be on here for the SCD watch a long tonight?

Maddie love the description of your SIL. Do tell us all how she is dressed like a fairy?

Ilovelblue · 28/11/2015 16:00

Has anyone seen the Discussion of the Day on here- actors in their best role? Am sure we could include BA in this!

Does anyone know what happened to the search for the new Milk Tray man?

pixieg1rl · 28/11/2015 16:46

Productive afternoon here, cleared accumulated crap from the sideboard/dumping ground, made dinner and baked a cake. Time to sit down and await strictly.

Afternoon. Been watching the Davis Cup Tennis all afternoon. The Murrays are serving for the doubles match and if Andy wins tomorrow GB will win the whole thing - so exciting if you like tennis/sport etc but if not probably a bit meh!

Will be back for Strictly tonight, ladies.

Here we go match point! Here we go match point again! Success!

KellyHb · 28/11/2015 18:00

Sounds like you've all been having relaxing/productive afternoons. Smile

I'm not sure what's happening about Strictly tonight for me. Ill have to check what time its on. I think we might be putting up Xmas trees/decorations when the boys are in bed about 7ish. Might just have to watch it on catch-up.

I wish I could have interest in baking pix. I'm crap at some motherly/wife type things. DH does most of the cooking, I can't bake or sew. Blush I will get my backside in gear one day to do these things. DD ripped a bit of her coat this afternoon so I had to go to my Mams for her to sew it back together.

Ilovelblue · 28/11/2015 18:12

Kelly I will freely admit I detest sewing. I can do hems and buttons, that's about my limit. When I was at school, I got my Mum to do most of it and then just faffed around in the lesson. The sewing teacher never caught on fortunately but in the year prior to choosing "O" levels, we did a lot of theory. I could do that! I could describe how to do a buttonhole or a channel seam, I just couldn't physically do it. Embarrassingly, I came top of the class in the theory stuff and the teacher wanted me to take sewing for "O" level but I chose cookery instead.

I'm always envious when Richtea describes her sewing. She made some lovely stag cushions last Christmas (if memory serves me right).

I've made a batch of scones, four sponge puddings and there's a beef casserole in the oven now. I really shouldn't have had that wine - I've felt a bit spaced out ever since! I should stick to evenings.

KellyHb · 28/11/2015 18:30

Life sounds pretty relaxing round at yours ilove. I might have to invite myself round for a child detox for a couple of days, take some cookery lessons and drink some lovely wine. WinkWineCake

Onlygirljen · 28/11/2015 18:32

Evening all. Spent yesterday trying to survive work with the most vicious hangover I've had in a long time after a wild one on Thursday. That'll teach me to end up necking shots in the tackiest gay bar I've ever experienced at midnight on a school night ConfusedConfusedConfused

Back to feeling semi normal this evening and ready for strictly. Anita and Gleb are doing the rumba - I may need a cold compress and a lie down...

orphan · 28/11/2015 18:33

Oh ilove can I come and be a lodger in your house? I love the sound of all your cooking.

Miserable wet and windy here today but at last I've made a start on Christmas shopping! Really pleased as well cos I've booked tickets to go to the ENB production of Nutcracker at the Coliseum before Christmas. I'm hoping that will get me in the festive mood and give me muscly thighs in tights ogling opportunities

I gave CJ a good send off, priming him for ice. Hope he was suitably pumped up for you ice and you can thank me later for the new moves I taught him.Wink

Ilovelblue · 28/11/2015 18:36

Kelly, it's rare that I have a whole weekend without doing something but my plan today had been to try and finish off the front garden after the lawn had been taken up. I've either been held up because of my shoulder problems or the weather! Last weekend when it was actually fit to do it, I had already arranged to go out for lunch with a friend and had the two little boys to look after on Sunday.

I can do cookery and gardening classes.... feel free to come down whenever you like (especially if you can drag CJ with you, he's a far better cook than me, tidier too). In fact why don't you get him to show you a few little tricks of the trade when you have him for the weekend?

pixieg1rl · 28/11/2015 18:39

I have an interest in eating cake Kelly. That's my baking motivation

OP posts:
Ilovelblue · 28/11/2015 18:39

His moves with the double cream and spatula may have been predictable but enjoyable nonetheless Kelly!

Ilovelblue · 28/11/2015 18:40

Mine too pixie and we often do cake sales at work so it's always in my best interests to practise new recipes!

pixieg1rl · 28/11/2015 18:45

Naughty Jen on a school night.

Rhubarb01 · 28/11/2015 18:50

Present and correct ready for SCD

Richtea19 · 28/11/2015 18:52

So jealous of your nutcracker tickets orp. I always went every year with my mum. Sometimes to the Matthew Bourne at the coliseum but mainly at the Royal Opera house.... SO jealous! Might have to crash your ballet trip next year!! Or borrow a daughter!

ilove we escaped the rain today and I managed to get in the garden and cut the grass and did a load of chopping and sweeping leaves and even managed to put garden furniture away. One box ticked!!!!

I still have the stag cushions in the boys play room! And can't wait to get all the stagy stuff out of the loft for Christmas. I'm still sewing when I get time. I made a lovely tip for a wedding we went to recently. I knew what I wanted (cream silk/satin top with sleeves) and couldn't find anything under £100.00, so I bought some fabric for 15.00 for one metre, layed an existing top on some brown paper and made a pattern. Result, a fab top that cost me £15!

Still watching football and then dinner, so SCD will be late for me tonight.. Worth the wait for Gleb!

Rhubarb01 · 28/11/2015 18:53

Do the judges really rehearse that?

Rhubarb01 · 28/11/2015 18:54

Is it me or does kellie always look like she's trapped in an 80's disco?

pixieg1rl · 28/11/2015 18:58

Hmm, not sure about that from Kellie, something seemed off Hmm
