Stitck them through the washin machine kel.
If that fails scuff coat (or whatever it's called nowadays) to cover it up ... Mine are the same!!!

Lovely stay lola
I see Sainsbury have a good stag collection this year too :)

KellyHb · 24/11/2015 16:30

I'll give it a shot thanks nickel. For some reason in this house, I've got the job as shoe cleaner as well. Confused

Onlygirljen · 24/11/2015 17:16

Thanks all - the meh feeling seems to extend past writing to also cover life in general at the moment, maybe it is just the time of year. Adding to that, work is just awful and youngest is playing up with his sleep yet again. I think I need a visit from CJ to cheer me up!!

On the cheerier side, this time next month will be Christmas Eve! Surely we will get some series 2 cast news before Christmas?! I realised the other day that's it's almost a year since I delurked on here and first published any fanfic, so funny to think of all that's happened since then Grin

MaddieMoo82 · 24/11/2015 17:26

Ooh sainsburys for stags nickel? Oooh will be paying a visit for some.

Cheers all for the DH/DP info. When we are working me and DP work in the same department which is also not easy jen. Especially when you have had a row and everyone tells you how wonderful he is Hmm. Your FF story is far from meh though I absolutely love it!
DP is currently soaking away his aching bones and chills in the bath. To be honest he's been a nightmare all day and I have had no sympathy (same as you kelly) so hopefully he'll realise he has peed me off and go back tomorrow to keep the peace... Grrrrr.

Anyway, it's that new blind spot thing tonight do might and try and catch that.

MaddieMoo82 · 24/11/2015 17:28

Blimey that last sentence makes no sense but you what I mean Shock

Onlygirljen · 24/11/2015 18:22

Oh my word mads you must have the patience of a saint. There is zero chance that I'd have the patience needed to work and live with somebody - it would be the last straw for my already shaky sanity Confused

Rhubarb01 · 24/11/2015 18:25

Gosh ladies if anyone's handing out awards for best mehness of the year I think I should be nominated and at least have the chance to look delighted for the winner whilst muttering 'bitch' through gritted teeth. Grin yes a bit like that!

Seriously, though, meh has been in evidence for quite a while and finding it very hard to motivate myself in many areas.

As for DH/DP working at home, I could write a book! My DH has worked permanently at home for about 3 years and in the end I found the solution - I went out to work five days a week instead. I am a bit cynical and think he likes having a lie in every day until at least 8 am whereas I get up at 6 am every day and sort everyone out before going to work. I got used to him being here but I never really liked feeling that I couldn't wander round the house with the radio on full blast, singing my head off or watch the TV at lunchtime or just sit and read a book if I wanted. The house is still a mess but at least it's because I'm not here and I don't spend as much money now because I used to go out a lot during the daytime to get some space and ended up browsing too much. It's like BK says I think - ideally you need a separate space away from the home and keep the two worlds apart. Well that is nearly long enough to be a book.

I watched Testament of Youth the other night (a bit behind on films) and cried buckets which considering I've read the book twice and watched the original TV series was a bit daft, but there you go. The second time I read the book I was the same age as Vera had been and it really resonated with me. I hadn't seen Kit Harrington in anything before but I liked him in this. I've also got Far From the Madding Crowd to watch at last - that will be a bit happier and I'm hoping the Matthias smock action is good because I need something to jolt me out of mehness!

OK back to lurking for the foreseeable. Be good ladies and if you can't be good - make it worthwhile!

KellyHb · 24/11/2015 18:27

Hugs Jen. Sorry things are a bit tough at the minute. Did you put your name down for the CJ tour? I re-read How Could I Forget the other day. Absolutely love that story. The graveyard scene was so emotional. That would been great in S2 if Molly was in it full time.

Ah so and your DP work in the same dept at work mads? Like you say, it must be tough if you've argued at home etc.

KellyHb · 24/11/2015 18:31

Must just say ditto rhu re: Testament of Youth. Fantastic film and I cried too lots. Alicia Vikander was amazing in it.

Damn, have to run. Twins are about to fight over who's turn it is to use the Tomato Sauce. Confused

MaddieMoo82 · 24/11/2015 18:57

Yes kelly it was how we met and was fun when no one knew and we were sneaking about but not so much 6 years later! Good luck with the tomato sauce fight.
jen I'm sure ilove could look at schedule and squeeze you in for some CJ love and wood Grin

KellyHb · 24/11/2015 19:11

mads It sounds like Greys Anatomy (medical drama I love) where a few of the doctors are dating in secret and they keep going to the stockroom for a quick seeing to. Wink Not saying you do that of course but your story does sound fun. Smile

MaddieMoo82 · 24/11/2015 19:52

Hahaha I wish kelly! I love greys too it's one of my favs and I wish I was Meredith in the early stages with mcdreamy but unfortunately it was never like that. Fun but not quite going at it in the elevator fun! Blush

pixieg1rl · 24/11/2015 20:05

We can crown you queen of meh if you like rhu. I hope a bit of Gabriel Oak will cheer you up (I know exactly what bits of Gabriel Oak could cheer me up)

MrP works from home and is rubbish at the separation thing, so he's writing e mails and phoning people from 7am to 10pm. I've given up on fighting him over it most of the time, although I have been known to pick up his calls at 10pm on a Sunday and shout at his colleagues for disturbing our weekend.

Hope things pick up for everyone soon. I'm in complete denial about Xmas, DS is sorted beyond that I can't say I care about the rest of it.

Rhubarb01 · 24/11/2015 20:23

Oh Pixie thank you - dabs tears away, hands patting and hovering over heart, completely overwhelmed "I can't believe little old me from Rhubarb land could end up here today. I just want to thank ..........." - I am clearly a very sad individual and all definitions apply.

Sorry for everyone feeling down in the dumps. I think everyone is suffering from the time of year, too much darkness, cold weather, bad news, the whole pre-Christmas single-handed effort that falls to most women as in - we have to deliver Christmas for everyone else. Well, look to the future ladies - next year brings the promise of OG2, Poldark, Musketeers (don't hit me - I still like Aramis in spite of the dodgy outfits and boots). Once we hit 2016 we will feel as if it won't be too long. Hope springs eternal. (Gosh those tablets are good!)

Ilovelblue · 24/11/2015 20:27

Evening all. Jen CJ is booked in with Kelly from 5 December and the idea is that he would go back to Maddie before whizzing off to his parents for Christmas but I reckon he wouldn't say no to a trip north of the border. When is good for you?

Also Jen, no idea why you feel the way you do about your ff update. It was ace. I wouldn't mind waking up with CJ like that in a morning! Can't wait till they really get it together if that was the appetiser!

MaddieMoo82 · 24/11/2015 20:31

Ah rhu and jen sending hugs and to anyone else with mehness. I think it definately is the whole cold dark mornings and nights, Xmas worry etc, money worries, family stresses. It shall pass (what I tell myself each evening.... Not sure it works but I'm trying!) Chocolate Cake

MaddieMoo82 · 24/11/2015 20:33

Also I don't mind if CJ goes to jen rather than me for a second visit. Don't wanna seem greedy and will make sure I make the most of him the first of many time round

Ilovelblue · 24/11/2015 20:42

Maddie, we've a couple of weeks to spare before Christmas and it makes logistical sense for him to spend a bit more time with you before he goes back to his parents, so there's time for both Jen and you I believe. He's been to Jen's two or three times before. I wonder if he'll meet up with RL Chris? We've not heard about him for ages. Is he still around Jen?

KellyHb · 24/11/2015 21:06

mads i really love Jackson and April. They come second to CJ and Molly as my favourite TV couples. But there seems to be a season break until February to which I will find difficult to wait out. Confused

It can't be that long until cast announcements for OG surely as we're nearly into December. Seems jury is still out as to whether BA has signed up or not. Oh well, hopefully we'll find out soon enough.

KellyHb · 24/11/2015 21:13

Here's a nice CJ & Molly pic to perk us up a bit. Smile

Our Girl and Captain James Addicts part XXIX
Onlygirljen · 24/11/2015 21:23

Any time after the 18th is good for me although mads you should definitely have him twice since I've had him many times already

ilove he's been out of the country for work for a few months now, but due back at Christmas for a couple of weeks.

pixieg1rl · 24/11/2015 21:34

MrP is going over my online shop in forensic detail. I may have to stab him in the head if he questions why I need 2 bars of chocolate

KellyHb · 24/11/2015 21:41

Haha pix.

DH isn't impressed with amount of Xmas decs as predicted. I'm pretending to be stone deaf if he moans. Hmm

Ilovelblue · 24/11/2015 21:52

I too am feeling a bit out of sorts. So tired! (Yes, fell asleep yet again during Holby before. It's a good job I always record it for such eventualities). The atmosphere at work isn't great and worried about my friend with the financial problems. She's coming for tea tomorrow so I'll see if she's anywhere nearer sorting herself out. Sorted most of my Christmas presents thankfully but can't say I am very enthusiastic. Think I'm with pixie on that.

On the subject of working, partners and all that, I worked in the same building as my ex. Fortunately we didn't actually work together and when we split up, our department moved to another site for a while so I was spared bumping into him every day. Must admit, I decided I would never go out with anyone again that I worked with - have turned down a couple of invitations since on the basis of I've been there, seen it, done it and got the T shirt!

MaddieMoo82 · 24/11/2015 21:53

Ah thanks jen I'm happy for him to come as many times as he wants Grin Hopefully ilove can arrange that for you.
kelly I have been a bit rubbish and missed the last two series but greys is definately a tv fave.
Definately eye poking if he starts pix
