Corrie thread - we haven't even got a dog storyline to keep us going now

A new thread as we head towards the worst part of every soap year - Christmas.

Dreading the return of Simon.

Dreading more of the arr Gareh & Alya "plot".

When did the brewery close and become a convenient empty garage?

Make yourself at home and get ready for more totally hopeless acting - it has to improve soon, surely?

Tracy got a guy to go to the Bistro, (in Friday's episodes), pretending to be opening a new restaurant, and who said he was head-hunting Robert.
A row ensued between Nick, and Robert, because of this, which ended up with Nick agreeing to give him a percentage of the business.
Tracy then told Robert that it was her who set up the fake headhunter, and she and Robert started kissing, and it appears, all was resolved Grin.

WotNoLoobrush · 18/01/2016 21:06

All a bit quick wasn't it? Then again, we've seen Robert has a nasty streak so perhaps they deserve each other.

Wow, it all kicked off tonight. I'm actually looking forward to Wednesday's (7 not 7.30).

seasidesally · 18/01/2016 21:08

oh i had no idea Tracey set that up

southeastdweller · 18/01/2016 21:11

I must admit I did find that scene in the second episode with Carla in the car quite exciting.

Hopefully poor Gail won't be talked into getting a new rug and will get the underfloor heating done so the grisly business of Callum's corpse laying beneath her floorboards will finally end.

Rachel0Greep · 18/01/2016 22:08

Tracy and Robert (and his weird hair Grin), totally deserve one another.

theliverpoolone · 18/01/2016 22:18

I'm disappointed with Robert, I quite liked the idea of him and Leanne getting together - he was good with Simon when Tracey was being vile.

Not looking forward to seeing more of Phelan

Rachel0Greep · 19/01/2016 08:53

I think it's just more of the same, with the Corrie producer/ writers. Robert seemed okay, when he first reappeared. Now to suit the storyline, and presumably Carla's eventual departure, he has become a creep.

I would love to know how much he won in the casino, to enable him to buy a percentage of the business!

What time of day was it meant to be, when the Bistro staff were in the Rovers...Steph said they were going ice-skating, because of the unexpected day off. Audrey was so busy, that presumably it was evening time when she was in the pub. But Steph and Andy still hadn't gone. Were they drinking until then...

Would Kev really be able to bring Phelan to the ground, like that? Kev is fairly slight, and not very tall. Phelan is much bigger than him...

So many questions Grin

SymphonyofShadows · 19/01/2016 09:04

Fuxake, Phelan the rubbish baddie with the evil plan full of holes! What is he going to threaten Anna with this time? It's none of Kevin's business about the 'arrangement' and she has suffered enough for that.

I thought the Carla scenes were good, is she dead?

eddiemairswife · 19/01/2016 10:40

She'll be in intensive care for a couple of episodes and then make a miraculous recovery. It happens all the time at Weatherfield General.

Akire · 19/01/2016 11:04

Guessing bistro is open till 11-12pm so staff would finish after that. So at 7pm they still would feel like had the day off with 5h to play with.

Not sure what phelan plot could be either, let Anna be happy for 5min. Did I miss part where they told Sophie about relationship? Told Anna carefully and phone call to Gary but Sally must just told her in Tim it took them to run back from garage? Because at the end she wasn't suprised at all. Did they just say we together while shouting at council staff and that was that?

Akire · 19/01/2016 11:05

*faye not Anna. Anna obviously knows!

SymphonyofShadows · 19/01/2016 11:11

I missed the bit where they told everyone, when I saw it Anna was on the phone to Izzy telling her. A clock somewhere said 4.30 when they were all in the pub but I can't remember where.

Rachel0Greep · 19/01/2016 11:35

She will be in Intensive Care, fully made up, and with fabulous glossy hair Grin.

MissBattleaxe · 19/01/2016 12:11

Sally is SO jealous. And making it SO obvious!

WotNoLoobrush · 19/01/2016 14:21

I'm not sure about Carla Sad. If she does survive then yes to the above!

mollie123 · 19/01/2016 17:14

has anyone told poor little Jack - who has not been seen for weeks (or even mentioned) I did feel so exasperated when Faye asked 'do I have to call you Dad' to Kevin - really they have been out on a few dates - since when does that constitute long term relationship and Faye having a new daddy. Hmm
surely Carla would have let the handbag go - she is supposed to be a savvy woman although she was a bit drunk (a whole bottle of wine)
Corrie is exploring new realms of unlikely SLs and surely they could have had a better excuse for Carla leaving?

millimat · 19/01/2016 17:21

Wasn't it because she'd hidden her engagement ring in there that she didn't want to let go?

MissBattleaxe · 19/01/2016 17:47

Yes but Carla is feisty and proud.

Eastie77 · 19/01/2016 18:10

Why does Zeedan never show not even the slightest bit of resentment towards Tracy? She killed his dad a few months ago and he dosen't seem remotely bothered when she pops in and out of the bistro.

eddiemairswife · 19/01/2016 18:49

Not that I want him to return, but we haven't seen much of Simon recently. Last thing I remember he was being resistant to counselling, and Robert accompanied them on one occasion. Leanne hasn't mentioned him either.

MissBattleaxe · 19/01/2016 18:52

I thought he'd gone to stay with Peter. Honestly the writers are hopeless with children. Once they're born dramatically somewhere unusual on Christmas Day, they're out the picture.

Rachel0Greep · 19/01/2016 19:21

I had noticed Simon's absence too, but was afraid to mention him, in case it made him reappear. Grin

theliverpoolone · 19/01/2016 21:57

I've also been wondering how Simon coped with Christmas - he never got a mention.

WotNoLoobrush · 19/01/2016 21:58

Rachel Grin

I thought Carla was wearing her engagement ring last night?

Rachel0Greep · 19/01/2016 22:44

I missed bits of it, because it was annoying me so much, the two idiots sitting outside in the van, Tracy skulking in the kitchen (how would she have opened that door from the outside?) etc, but I read somewhere that Carla put the ring into her bag, at some point during the nonsense robbery.
