Corrie Thread - you know it is bad when the best storyline is about a dog

Time to start a new thread. Hopefully by the time this one has finished there will have been a terrible disaster and half the current cast will have disappeared.

At least Jazz-hands-Andrea is on her way out. I'd be grateful if she would take a coach-load with her.

Not made my mind up about Shayne Ward yet but he was surprisingly camp. He could pass for a Connor but more likely Callum's brother.

NoMontagues · 22/08/2015 14:50

I'm miles behind.

Please can Simon go to boarding school. He's awful.

eddiemairswife · 22/08/2015 15:24

If Simon carries on like he is he could end up in a Young Offenders' institution.

elbowsdontsing2 · 22/08/2015 19:25

i think the story lines go crap in the summer because alot of the older characters like emily, mary ,norris are haveing their holidays. rita and liz have gone now probably be back in the autumn.
the younger actors just dont cut it

AmIthatbloodywet · 22/08/2015 19:25

I watched the omnibus today

Craig is so lovely. The Paddy daughter girlfriend though, her acting was worthy of my DDs primary school production

As for Calum. Does having your jaw slack = menacing in the world of soap. The least threatening gangster ever. Although Sarah Lou's flinch from him was almost BaftA worthy. Well, maybe not

Jo4040 · 22/08/2015 19:47

How do you know that the older characbtwrs have their holidays?

Explains alot.

elbowsdontsing2 · 22/08/2015 20:03

im just guessing jo40, as they have all disappeared for a while

Rachel0Greep · 22/08/2015 20:23

Speaking of holidays, David obviously was in the sun lately. There must be very good weather wherever Martin lives Grin

NoMontagues · 23/08/2015 08:54

Agree the storylines always get worse over the summer. I think it's a combination of actors being on holidays and audience being distracted / on holidays so that they are waiting until September to do anything big. This happens every year.

Yes, David has come back from Martin's looking very refreshed! I noticed that too Grin

Wishful80smontage · 23/08/2015 09:36

Only aspect I've enjoyed last few episodes is Nick and Carla I really like Nick's character lately

Rachel0Greep · 23/08/2015 10:06

I think Nick has become a better character, of late. I was a bit dubious about Carla and Nick as a couple, but have started to like them together.

Rachel0Greep · 23/08/2015 10:07

I thought Sally was funny, saying she didn't want her job back, but then admitting she did. The more I see of Alya, the less I like her, stroppy little madam. I hope Carla gives her the boot.

bigcomfyduvet · 23/08/2015 12:28

I noticed that as well Rachel, he looked like Tina used to next to Kylie! Grin

BoGrainger · 24/08/2015 13:37

What are Sally's 'scratchcard savings'?Grin Did she win a lot of money when I was having a holiday from Corrie?

PunkrockerGirl · 24/08/2015 13:46

I wondered that too, Boo, I don't remember her winning anything.

Also, who thought it'd be a good idea to bring Paddy McGuinness in? He's incredibly irritating and couldn't act his way out of a paper bag

comfybigduvet · 24/08/2015 13:55

Ages and ages ago Kevin did but I thought Sophie spent most of it!

mollie123 · 24/08/2015 14:24

from wiki :
On the day that Kevin and Sally meet to finalise their divorce, Kevin wins £200,000 on a scratch card but keeps it secret. Tyrone, however, tells Sally just as she is about to sign. On hearing this, Sally refuses to sign and demands £100,000. The following week, Sally receives some flowers from Kevin and he also buys Sally a new car but she sells it and keeps the money before getting the lottery money frozen until a court hearing can be arranged. However, the judge rules in Kevin's favour as Sally loses her temper when Kevin's lawyer reminds her of her affair with Ian Davenport but he later gives the entire £200,000 to Sally, after Bill encourages him to do whatever is necessary to win Sally back. After talking to Gail, she returns half of the winnings to him for Jack and they call a truce.
confused - Hmm
not sure how much is left - there is the 'conservatory' to pay for and Rosies's private school and lots lots more.Smile

mollie123 · 24/08/2015 14:30

and Sophie's non-wedding
didn't Rosie go for a 'boob job'
can anyone remember how far £100K each stretched Grin

AnguaResurgam · 25/08/2015 14:33

With MN down, I watched both episodes yesterday evening with rather fuller attention than usual.

It was utterly shite.

I can't think of a single interesting storyline or character, or pinpoint any pleasant light relief.

elbowsdontsing2 · 25/08/2015 14:38

surely bethany would of needed her mom there to give a statement to the police as shes under 16,or are the laws different in soap land

HirplesWithHaggis · 25/08/2015 14:49

I wondered why Bethany didn't recognise the background as being Gail's place (and therefore fairly safe) when Callum skyped her. Confused And yes, she should have had an adult with her.

Pyjamaramadrama · 25/08/2015 16:23

The Callum character is getting more ridiculous by the episode. Did you see the way he walks? And what's that thing he keeps doing with his face?

Jo4040 · 25/08/2015 16:31

I saw the way he walks. LMFAO LMFAO LMFAO. I cant describe what he does with his shoulders. But all I know is, its as funny as fuck. That thing with his face! WTF is all that about?!? It's more like one of the comedy storylines this...

eddiemairswife · 25/08/2015 17:07

Suddenly Lily is around, just in time for her birthday (tomorrow?). Nothing has been said, but I'm sure Hope is due to start school this term.

comfybigduvet · 25/08/2015 17:12

She was born December 2010 so I think she would be yeah.
