Corrie Thread - you know it is bad when the best storyline is about a dog

At least Jazz-hands-Andrea is on her way out. I'd be grateful if she would take a coach-load with her.

i hope mary does have abit of romance in her life she deserves a good story line.
as for gary, fingers crossed he kept walking, straight off the set with alyia and zeedan close behind.
and kathys sister lusting after ken who she had only met 5 minutes before,
im beginning to want the platts back.

I am finding this Gary and Alya stuff deeply tedious and never believed in them as a couple. IMO they have zero chemistry, don't seem to that into each other, and I struggle to believe that her family would be so delighted in the match that they'd hand over 25% of their business to him (whether or not they were muslim).

And on the other hand, the family were relaxed enough (eventually) to accept their son being with a former prostitute, and for their granddaughter to marry a non-muslim in an apparently secular service, but now they have gone all hardline? Where do Corrie think they're going with this?

Admittedly it is not helped by the atrocious acting all round.

I was iffy about the prospect of a love interest for Mary, because although I enjoy her reminiscences (like the throwaway line about a relationship doomed by an over-excitable cocker spaniel?) I didn't think it would necessarily work if shown on screen. But I think the introduction has been pleasantly bats

I hope Alya and Gary are over for good because their relationship as written and acted has been poor from the start. I also hope the producer who starts next year is watching the show closely and is planning on getting rid of Alya and her family as they're not working. I can't even remember their surname so that's how much of an impression they've made on me and I'm not surprised that Jimi Mistri (Kal) quit earlier this year.

The gate behind the garage has been there for ages, you get to see it on the set tour, it was the back of the lot. It's not obvious on screen though, I was surprised when I saw it because I think it was supposed to be the entrance to something like a brewery (can't remember what was written on it now) which you'd expect to have a lot of traffic going through it but we never saw that. I guess they're making the most of the new set by using the space now.

Ted Robbins is looking slimmer now. He had a heart attack on stage quite recently didn't he?
