Corrie Thread - you know it is bad when the best storyline is about a dog

Time to start a new thread. Hopefully by the time this one has finished there will have been a terrible disaster and half the current cast will have disappeared.

At least Jazz-hands-Andrea is on her way out. I'd be grateful if she would take a coach-load with her.

OP posts:

Lily is only 2. Hope was born December 2010 so Hope should be starting school this September.

Me and Fizz were pregnant at the same time Grin.

Rachel0Greep · 25/08/2015 17:22

Callum should enter Strictly Come Dancing, he all but pirouetted around the corner last night, after encountering Lloyd - who incidentally seemed sober, and wasn't slurring his words, on the phone.
Strange that, considering that he had to be helped to stand up, shortly before that. Hmm

InQuiteAPickle · 25/08/2015 17:25

Fizz said that she was taking the girls to play group that morning. She's lucky that they open in Wetherfield (sp?) during the summer holidays! They only run term time here!

comfybigduvet · 25/08/2015 17:33

Amy was February 2004 so should be starting secondary as well.

AnguaResurgam · 25/08/2015 18:27

Both Bessie Street Primary and Weatherfield Comp must be very undersubscribed, as no-one on the Street ever has applications angst. And both schools seem able to offer in-year places to new arrivals immediately.

ellenanora5 · 25/08/2015 21:17

But of a change to my username people, but couldn't get logged on at all since the hacking job that was done, bet it was Callum, trying to prove that he is indeed a scary person Grin and we all better watch out or he will infiltrate us Smile

He is really brutal isn't he, the sooner he is gone the better, and hopefully take the horrendous Sarah and Bethany with him.

southeastdweller · 25/08/2015 21:28

Another poor couple of scenes last night but I must admit the hospital bedside scenes with Tony and Eileen were well-written and acted.

Jo4040 · 25/08/2015 21:30

Rachel Grin..

I really wish I could find a clip of him walking past Loyde and around that corner last night. Honestly, I know this is sad but its going to be one of them things that I think of to myself to cheer meself up.

Whos idea was that walk?! His?! Pmsl

Fantasyland · 25/08/2015 21:58

Omg just had to post about Callum's face when max says get away from me Grin , his face was hilarious. I have never seen someone over act so much!

He deserves awards for his facial expressions, it's so bad it's good

desperatehousewife21 · 26/08/2015 17:33

Callum is the least intimidating person I've ever seen, I think I'd be more scared by Simon!

comfybigduvet · 26/08/2015 17:35

Who remembers Charlie Stubbs?

Now he was a good scary character because he was believable, not a pantomime villain!

I half expect kids to shout BOOOO when Callum appears.

HellKitty · 26/08/2015 17:40

I'm dreading the thought that Hope possibly has something seriously wrong with her. Not because of the child acting less like their daughter than a plank of wood (yes I know she's young) but because the whole of Christmas will be taken up with Fizz twining and pulling her Fizz-face.

...and breathe.

Jo4040 · 26/08/2015 17:51

Hellkitty...tell me about it....

ellenanora5 · 26/08/2015 20:09

Oh god you are so right HellKitty, it will be painful to watch, I used to love Fizz a few years ago but not anymore.

Why is Cathy living with Roy, I must have missed that bit when I was away.

EachandEveryone · 26/08/2015 20:36

Why can't Bethany just tell the truth and why does Sarah keep butting in?

BoGrainger · 26/08/2015 21:15

I've missed a few and don't know what Bethany knows. And tbh don't actually care that much. Tonight was typically boring. Shayne Ward - awful. Leaving the new guy in charge on his first day - ridiculous. Erica and Lloyd - a thousand times no! Shock

HirplesWithHaggis · 26/08/2015 22:09

Bethany was intimidated into lying by Callum skyping her when he had drugged her mother into unconsciousness, and speculating that he could do anything to her.

Jo4040 · 26/08/2015 22:15

Tbh tho. I'd have shit meself too at that point. I don't know why she's not telling anyone tho now. She could go back to the police, with her family, tell them what he did...

It's like why didn't Sarah tell anyone about that gun?!

Or did she? God its that boring I actually don't care, its just something to watch with a bru when kids are in bed.

eddiemairswife · 26/08/2015 22:27

I don't understand how the police function in Corrie. I've been watching 24 Hours in Police Custody on Channel 4, and the least they would have done would to get Callum in for questioning and have a responsible adult present if Bethany were to be questioned.

HirplesWithHaggis · 26/08/2015 22:30

Sarah didn't tell about the gun because Callum has video of Bethany "dealing drugs". That there's a massive hole in the plot - Callum proving he was safe around children (Max) by showing video of him being, er, not safe around children (giving Bethany drugs to deliver) - seems not to have mattered to the scriptwriters.

Or Sarah. Confused

theliverpoolone · 26/08/2015 23:07

So one minute Sarah's defending Bethany, saying maybe she's telling the truth, then the next she's complaining to Tony that Callum's 'got away with it' Confused. Maybe if she tried putting a bit of pressure on Bethany then he wouldn't be getting away with it......I wish it would just hurry up and end!
And, as soon as it all kicked off at the birthday party, Lily disappeared into thin air!

Rachel0Greep · 27/08/2015 08:25

The scriptwriters / producers need to end that story. It's rubbish, and has more holes in it than a colander.
Police accept child's word re toy gun at Callum(stretchy face)'s apartment.

Child gives statement about seeing his dad beating up Jason. A minor appears at the police station and, apparently without context, (because as far as we know, the police have done nothing yet), gives a statement about being with stretchy face, on that day/ night/ evening.
Time seems to have no meaning, in Corrie.

Police say grand job, sorted... Oh please!

comfybigduvet · 27/08/2015 08:28

And no one has pointed out to David that it's all his sodding fault in the first place - but it's all woe-is-David!

Rachel0Greep · 27/08/2015 08:28

My gift to the scriptwriters and producers ...
