Corrie Thread - you know it is bad when the best storyline is about a dog

Time to start a new thread. Hopefully by the time this one has finished there will have been a terrible disaster and half the current cast will have disappeared.

At least Jazz-hands-Andrea is on her way out. I'd be grateful if she would take a coach-load with her.

His face has changed, I didn't recognise him til he spoke.

SymphonyofShadows · 01/11/2015 15:43

I wish they would 'forget' Simon somehow. Perhaps Peter could enrol him in a boarding school and he can come back in a few years with a new head.

squoosh · 01/11/2015 15:46

Do you know where it all went wrong with Simon? When they went after him when he ran away to Blackpool back when he was a nipper.

They should have pretended not to notice and got on with their lives.

WotNoLoobrush · 01/11/2015 16:02

That was a really good week's summary Thirty. (arr GarehGrin)

When family ask me what happened in Corrie if they missed it, I struggle for some reason, even in the good old days let alone now!

I was also puzzled about the new garage location.

Here's to another week then.

Rachel0Greep · 01/11/2015 16:03

Saw the spoiler about Simon, ugh. I half hoped he would be left staying with Peter for years, and quietly forgotten.

eddiemairswife · 01/11/2015 16:15

I don't suppose there'll be any problem with Simon getting his place back at school. How long has he been away? Will Leanne be fined or was he briefly enrolled at a Portsmouth school? We shall probably never know.

SymphonyofShadows · 01/11/2015 22:14

That new garage location is like a ghostly apparition that has just appeared by Nick's bistro

Rachel0Greep · 02/11/2015 09:09

Summoned up by Sophie on her laptop, now that she finally got a break from sitting, drooping her head, in Dev's, and gets to do it instead, in a corner of the garage.

BreconBeBuggered · 02/11/2015 23:26

I missed the first part of tonight's offering, and thought it'd be quicker to catch up here, but it looks as if there was nothing worthy of comment. I've pretty much forgotten what happened at 8:30 myself. Might as well have been my own life on the screen for all the excitement and intrigue. (Brecon walks the dog in the foggy darkness, stopping off on her way home for sugar and butter. Cliffhanger moment: There are still no bananas in the fruit bowl. Chilling.)

eddiemairswife · 03/11/2015 10:28

At least we haven't been subjected to Faye practising her songs, as it seems her show was last night.

desperatehousewife21 · 03/11/2015 14:29

Place marking.
Not much else to comment on, boring Gary/ Jason storyline.

Mary and her new man is the most interesting thing atm.

SymphonyofShadows · 03/11/2015 14:58

Is the new man really going to have a demanding mother or do we think he's married?

eddiemairswife · 03/11/2015 15:51

Mary has a demanding mother, so new man probably is married. Where on earth does Mary live now?

Rachel0Greep · 03/11/2015 22:21

I'm guessing things won't end well for Mary. She grates on me, to be honest, but right now, anything that gives a break from Alya and her lot, and the grim secret under the Platt house, is welcome.

southeastdweller · 04/11/2015 07:41

I think the Nessa character has lots of potential and I like the actress who plays her.

Rachel0Greep · 04/11/2015 10:02

I agree re Nessa. What struck me was how easily she fitted in, iykwim, on her first appearance. I also am looking forward to some light hearted stuff, a break from the grimness of the body under the house story, and a break from the yawnfest that is Alya, Gary and all belonging to them.

desperatehousewife21 · 04/11/2015 16:20

Plus she looks like she could really be Cathys sister.

WotNoLoobrush · 04/11/2015 17:33

I thought that about Cathy's sister too desperate. It's easy to believe they're really sisters.

I'm afraid I don't care much for Mary. Her character is too unrealistic for a tv soap. Her character belongs on the stage imo.

Rachel0Greep · 04/11/2015 20:52

Agree re Mary, I don't find her funny at all.

Haha, of course Nessa is a stylist! Bit of fun ahead if Audrey gives her a job. I liked Rita asking Audrey for a catch-up in the Rovers. That's Corrie, to me. Not overdone, ridiculous stuff like we have endured, for so long.

southeastdweller · 04/11/2015 21:31

I hope the new producer can persuade Terence Maynard to return next year. Tony is one of the more three-dimensional and recognisable character's on the street and I love the actor's chemistry with Beverley Callard.

AnguaResurgam · 04/11/2015 21:44

Terence Maynard is off for a panto break. He's playing the baddie Ebenezer in Aladdin in Sunderland (he already has the creepy beard for it).

southeastdweller · 04/11/2015 21:52

It's more than a break, according to this.

ellenanora5 · 04/11/2015 23:18

I haven't been watching really, it's too annoying, might speed through the omnibus.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 04/11/2015 23:51

Time for a new thread - let's hope that by the end of this one we will have the new producer and some decent storylines.
