Sorry everyone, my post count was weird so I thought I had time to start and post link to new thread. I've added Ben's CV to the main post so you can click on anytime to see if its been updated (they were quick enough to add Lucky Man)

I thought something was up with the MN page I was on saying it was closed. I'm not great with technology, but from now on, is it just this thread that'll be accessed via FB as I searched for this one on MN site and it wasn't coming up?

icemistOBE · 13/08/2015 09:18

should come up, i always 'watch' the thread so I dont have to search for it. Just popped the link in the FB group as the last thread was being weird- probably from the cyber attack on MN that made them close the site to sort.

Just bookmarking...

KellyHb · 13/08/2015 09:31

I've just bookmarked too. I dont think I've ever pressed the watch button.

Warm here today.

Nickel45 · 13/08/2015 09:36

Thank you ice ... it all went a bit belly up last night, didn't it. My counter thingy had been all over the place for a couple of days. Hey ho, we're back :) I wonder if SPO is still reading ... must be time for a new series of zombies ... please?!

Anyway, I'm working again today - but from home, as the kids childcare isn't long enough for me to actually get to work and back again. So, don't imagine I'll actually be getting a huge amount of work done ... might gonna have to start packing for holiday instead Grin.

Nickel45 · 13/08/2015 09:41

But I did get a chance to catch up on ff ... finally ... really hoping there is wifi next week!
whaj what a brilliant chapter, love the banter and you have got the Dawes family to a tee! And LOVED the Christmas presents!

LovingtheBrits - not sure if you are still reading this, but so pleased to see you back writing again, what a fab story. Can we have more? Wink

KellyHb · 13/08/2015 09:45

Exciting, when you going away, nickel?

My holiday's over from this afternoon. The troops are coming back about 3ish so I'm fitting in one last hurrah by having a carvery with a friend at lunch time. Is it horrible to say I haven't missed the family one bit?

Binge watched OG last night. Its still fantastic. Chemistry's still amazing. Really bittersweet though if no LT at all this series.

pixieg1rl · 13/08/2015 10:00

Anyone's DCs getting A level results today?

At the other end of the spectrum my boy is preparing for nursery BBQ on Saturday where the leaving pre-school class will be singing a song. I'm already incredibly fragile about the whole starting school thing so I fully expect to my a fool of myself and cry all the way through.

Nickel45 · 13/08/2015 10:05

Leaving on Saturday, hopefully early, as we've got a long drive and I'd really like to get ahead if the traffic. Kids are up for it, but DH does like to have his breakfast, read the paper, take a long time to get ready ... might just pack the kids into the car and sit there impatiently!!!! When we were kids, I remember my mum and dad packing us into the car in the middle of the night and driving, stopping for a couple of hours kip at a service station (them ... we just slept for all of it!). I suggested it to DH but he didn't like that idea, even if I did the driving. I figured seeing as littlie has started waking me up again in the middle of the night, we could just get up then and go, they could sleep, there wouldn't be any bickering or moaning .... Anyway .....

So jealous of you having had some real time off kel, definitely OK not to have missed the family! I put my two into childcare for an extra day this week, just to have some peace and quiet!! You need to do it sometimes, just to regain some sanity, I think!

orphan · 13/08/2015 10:07

Now I'm in serious danger of complete confuddlement with the range of threads on offer!!

pixie for all we know poor RA might be a silent sufferer of piles.I'll have to rewatching now and see how gingerly he lowers himself into his seat.

orphan · 13/08/2015 10:11

My ds got his A levels today and is going to London. A relief as it def wasn't a certainty. Cue lots of his mates round here tonight and much celebration, most likely of the vodka variety judging by previous experience.

Nickel45 · 13/08/2015 10:13

Congrats to your DS orph, that must be a huge relief xx

KellyHb · 13/08/2015 10:13

Ah bless you pix. Hope you have a lovely time on Saturday.

I can't wait to pack mine off to school nursery. They looked cute in their uniform when they tried them on the other day. Trousers were huge as expected but then I found a shop that sells small sizes and brought some there. My big worry is that they're nowhere near potty trained still. Not interested still so hopefully the nursery won't refuse them to start in September.

ice there was article about Reign and listed all the cast members even ones with tiny roles and BA still wasn't mentioned. Its very strange.

KellyHb · 13/08/2015 10:15

Congratulations to your son orph. Star

pixieg1rl · 13/08/2015 10:20

Well done orph child This isn't the point where I get to comment on how much a London based degree costs is it? Can you stick them in the garden for their vodka based celebrations orph? If the predicted rainstorms come through this evening you won't even have to sluice the vomit off the patio....

Richtea19 · 13/08/2015 10:22

Panic today when I added my post to the mobile site and it didn't add but said over 1000 replies? Anyway after trying to remember my password I'm here! Had panic it was all over!!!!!!

Congrats to DS orphan that's one less worry. It will be me next week :(

Dizzydots · 13/08/2015 10:27

Phew! I felt very lost this morning when I tried and failed to find you. Relief :) Congrats to your DS orphan, my facebook feed is full of chums relief at getting their dc sorted for next year. I remember this time last year so vividly - don't think I slept a wink the night before results. Hopefully you've got the bubbles on ice, as well as the vodka!! It's a long time ago for me now pixie but my emotions were wrecked when the twins started each new phase, nursery, pre-school, school, yr 1, yr 2 etc all the way through to 6th form. I don't think I'm very good at the thought of change although quickly settle into the new phase when it comes - hopefully you'll feel the same :)

Richtea19 · 13/08/2015 10:33

nickel happy holidays to you. We are coming home on sat and for the first time every I could actually stay here. I can't believe we have managed a two week holiday together without arguments. (Had a few minors!)

pixie I have always been an emotional reck at leaving assemblies and the like. In fact I cry at everyone else's! I hate goodbyes as well .

KellyHb · 13/08/2015 11:10

I think by the sounds of it, I must be a bit hard hearted when it comes to goodbyes and kids Confused.

icemistOBE · 13/08/2015 11:37

Well done to your DS orph what will he be studying?

I cried when DS1 went to reception, last day In reception when I picked him up. No doubt I'll cry when he starts back in year 1!

If MrP was ever to take DS away for longer than 3 hours I'd be fucking ecstatic Kelly. 30 minute trips to the playground so I can put the clean clothes away just don't cut it grr

Nickel45 · 13/08/2015 11:56

Diito to that pix ... my DH decided to take Friday afternoon off to have the kids so I can do the shopping and pack for holiday (woopy do!) ... well, he has taken the afternoon off, but now can't get home till after 1 cos he has to have a work lunch .... so he has decided to take them to the cinema, so I need to have them there by 2 .... and will their dinner be ready when he brings them back afterwards .... not entirely sure how this is helping yet ....!!! Can I borrow your DH kel ... maybe he could have words about how this "helping" lark works!

cjwoofwoof · 13/08/2015 12:29

Fairly average A Level results at Woof Manor too (is C C D good coz it doesn't feel like it), but my DS chosen not to take the Uni route - wants to pursue other things like staying in bed as long as possible, seeing how much he can drink before he pukes and generally making a nuisance of himself. I can feel "A Talk" coming on in the very near future Confused

pixieg1rl · 13/08/2015 12:33

I feel your pain Nickel, this will be me next week, MrP is away all week leaving me not only all the childcare, but also packing for a holiday so we're ready to set off nice and early next Saturday for the drive to Cornwall. DS will be watching lots off DVDs next week
