Enjoy your surprise dizzy and congrats on the silver! It comes around too quickly, we are two years behind you!

orphan · 01/09/2015 09:04

Congrats dizzy, kelly and rhubarb's dd and ds. Can't wait to find out where you're off to dizzy , but I expect you do too! Have you any ideas at all?

ice you must see Man from UNCLE then, cos it is pure eye candy on the Cavill front. As I said before, good job the plot was featherlight as I was seriously distracted and wouldn't have coped with following anything more complex!

orphan · 01/09/2015 09:06

You see that's where we've gone wrong BK - not being married but have been together over 25 years now but don't celebrate any anniversary.

Richtea19 · 01/09/2015 09:17

Congrats dizzy how exciting! And rhubarb HappyB to the twins .

ilove I have always wanted to go to Venice, I might have to wait for a significant WAnor birthday to get there!

ice it's the count down for Canada. So exciting!!

Haircuts and pencil cases this morning , check list nearly done. I can't wait until they go back!!

Dizzydots · 01/09/2015 09:24

Thank you friends and I have a vague idea it may involve a very special dinner orph. Think you should pick a day and celebrate anyway. Who needs an actual date?! Congratulations kel, our normal celebrations involve a bottle or two and a take-away so this is special indeed! It'll soon be your turn bk. Just been looking back through old photos, seems like yesterday in many ways. And happy birthday to your two rhu :)

KellyHb · 01/09/2015 09:26

Thanks orph. Maybe you could celebrate the date you first got together??

I remember first seeing Henry Cavill in The Tudors. He had a few sex scenes I remember which were lovely to watch. Wink

orphan · 01/09/2015 09:26

painted just caught up with your New York updates but it won't let me leave a review for some reason. Wonderfully tense, moving chapters though. Really hope you've got a happy outcome planned!

orphan · 01/09/2015 09:35

I think dp might say there's no room for any more celebrations as it's a standing joke with my family and friends that I manage to string out my birthday for several months!

Armie Hammer was gorgeous as well despite a comedy Russian accent. He fits woof's bulk requirement.I liked him in The Lone Ranger but seem to have been the only person to have enjoyed that film judging by the dire reviews it received.

pixieg1rl · 01/09/2015 09:36

MrP and I are nearing 15 years living in sin, and like you orph we don't have any date to celebrate as an anniversary. A few years ago my MIL was so desperate for us to get married she made up an anniversary date for us and sent us a card.

orphan · 01/09/2015 10:23

pixie every now and again we make half hearted plans to tie the knot but never actually follow through. I think we'll probably have a quickie, so to speak, just to make sure we're covered on legalities.

Forgot to mention that Armie borrowed BA's diarrhoea suede jacket for the opening scenes of the film. It had the same effect on me as it had previously.

Oh and Rupe is sulking and refusing to swivel cos I won't go and see his current film Hitman. He didn't appreciate my considered review having seen the trailers: "It looks crap and you don't suit bald. "

KellyHb · 01/09/2015 10:32

Live your MIL's hints pix. Smile

orph I thought that Rupert didn't suit bald when I saw that trailer. Did you ever see him in Homeland? My favourite film of his is The Young Victoria.

KellyHb · 01/09/2015 11:08

Oop. I think we might be nearing the end of the thread. Confused

orphan · 01/09/2015 13:21

kelly as woof would verify if she hadn't gone AWOL, it was Homeland that kickstarted my interest. It was that role that qualified him for a place on the naked wrestling team. I had to dissuade woof from trying to include Saul on the list though. Young Victoria is a good film as well.

orphan · 01/09/2015 13:50

pixie on a side note, I had a chortle at The Ambridge Observer blogspot's take on the recent Helen/Rob shenanigans. (If it wasn't you who confessed to being an Archers listener then apologiesfor besmirching your reputation.)

icemistOBE · 01/09/2015 14:13

I loved The Tudors it was filmed in my home town Grin

Just read it orphan, very funny. (it seems bad to be laughing at a domestic violence storyline but I've been yelling at the radio for months and little miss giggly has paid no attention whatsoever)

BK28 · 01/09/2015 15:14

orph In this day and age for any of us to stick together for over 25 years is a celebration in itself!!!

On another note did anyone hear Jeremy vine doing an item on addictive uses of mobile devices today...made me chuckle as I immediately thought of all of us here attached to tablets, phones etc!!!

moojangles · 01/09/2015 17:02

Happy anniversaries & birthdays to allFlowersCakeWine

KellyHb · 01/09/2015 17:52

Thanks mooj.

Are we saying that the OGFF site is down? Just I've tried to load my story a few times and it's just not working. Confused

Paintedcherryblossoms · 01/09/2015 18:52

Hello all....glad it's a short week at work this week today has been a sh*t storm of highs and lows. DS starts grammar school tomorrow so off home in a minute to get him relaxed and organised. I think I am more scared than him my baby boy is all grown up.
It will all come together in NY NY in the end I think....orphan Hmm but you know I like a few twists and turns along the road.
I second moo with best wishes for all of your celebrations Wine Flowers Star xx

Rhubarb01 · 01/09/2015 18:56

Evening! Thanks for the greetings. DD/DS had a nice day as DH took the day off and took them to the cinema and out for lunch. I unfortunately had a s**t day as every Monday I have a regular job I need to do that is time critical, computer driven and littered with problems so that my part-time day seems to regularly be turning into an unpaid full-time day. Today this involved only two cups of tea and nothing to eat all day. Why did I think this working properly lark would be good? If anyone knows a reason let me know - I hasten to add there is no eye candy, uniforms or anything else like that to recommend it.

Kelly the OG site is down or very limited at the moment. I use 'Is it Down Right Now' to check for things like that and also when MN was down. You can't login or do any account stuff. Apparently its maintenance which is not surprising as it hasn't been working properly for at least a week and now it's the start of a new month which causes a delay in updating - January the 1st was interesting too.

Anyway after enjoying Suite Francaise although I agree it was sad. I would like to have had a bittersweet ending where they did meet again but it wasn't to be for reasons already covered in the story (don't want to give too much away) However, I might just have to check out Matthias bulk in Far from the Madding Crowd when it's available just to test my theory of the size of bulk being directly in proportion to the co-star size!

moojangles · 01/09/2015 18:59

FFMC is out on DVD now, I rented it on Sky yesterday..not usually a fan of bulk but wouldn't say no to Matthias

WHAJEB1 · 01/09/2015 19:15

Hello Grin the lovely ilove thought those not on Facebook might enjoy this a little, obv all plagiarism and really the work of Helen fielding!!

docs.google.com/document/d/1N1FRQCRFJN0Z8MCv4SchKe8d6R4a1vrqu82xcWms1fM/edit?usp=docslist_api

Rhubarb01 · 01/09/2015 19:16

OK ladies - looks like I'm off to the shops right now!!

Actually if it wasn't for the tragic circumstances in which the story was written and the true life fate of the author I think Suite Francaise would be ripe for a FF story as the way it ends is quite open in many ways and there is just a hint. I understand the original story was never finished so I don't know if the film reflected the book that was eventually published or did the film thing of altering the story a bit.

orphan · 01/09/2015 19:26

whaj that's just brilliant!! BJ acts/reacts in exactly the way l would. Grin
