With Miley gone, never to be heard of for the next 15 years until she turns up with a new head, at least Emily won't have to babysit her every day and night for the foreseeable future.

WhoKnows, no, the fire was an accident. Tracey thought Carla was asleep in her bedroom and alone in the flat, when she used keys she'd stolen from Michelle's handbag to get into the flat. She found Carla asleep on the sofa in the livingroom, and lit a candle rather than put the lights on. She was about to clatter Carla over the head with a heavy ornament (as when she killed before) when she heard "someone else" (actually Amy) going to the loo in the flat, and fled. But she'd put the candle on a surface with a small lamp, and the candle set fire to the lampshade...

I think she didn't. She did go in to Carla's apartment with evil intent alright. Carla had bought a share in The Rovers, and thus thwarted Tony and Tracy's plans. Tracy was unaware that Amy was in Carla's apartment, Liz had asked Carla to mind her overnight.

Whine-bag, sorry, I mean Sinead, had made candles for the wedding party. Amy had mentioned lighting the candle and Carla said no.

Tracy lit the candle (having stolen keys out of Michelle's bag in order to get in), then as she hovered over Carla asleep on the couch, she heard something, possibly Amy flushing the toilet, I forget... Anyway, she departed without doing anything, and the place caught fire from the candle.
So, Tracy managed subsequently to lay the blame on Carla because Carla couldn't remember whether or not she lit the candle...

Carla knew she lit the candle, but (correctly) thought she'd blown it out before going to bed.

She questioned her memory and assumed she must have been wrong when it was discovered that the candle had caused the fire.

She's on the back foot because she was a bit pissed at the time.

Just read that Fiz spoiler. Can they really not think of a decent alternative storyline? I think it will send viewers away in droves.

I have never known Corrie to be soo bad. I've stopped watching (been watching since the 70's) and only see the odd snippet with my breakfast on a Saturday morning (ITV2). Faye giving away the baby was awful - where was the HV, GP, SW support ? The TV company always say they have been working closely with various charities, agencies etc before they do a storyline and that they will handle it realistically and sensitively and then they do anything but!

It has lost all of its charm (except for odd flashes from Tim and Sally, Mary). New Fiz story sounds ghastly as does the prospect of the latest "celeb" signings such as Paddy McGuiness and Sarah Harding - Kym Marsh is going to seem like Cate Blanchett in comparison. Does ITV have a secret plan to kill it off?

I like Fizz, hope they are not going to give her a boring affair story, Fizz and Tyrone are good together.

I do not think the current writing team is up to a story line like that, given the amount of crap and mistakes that they've done recently.

Like a wanna-be murderer counting on there being a handy candle to light, rather than bringing a torch...

Oh no! Fizz is at her very worst when upset/sad/brave; her wet lower lip is going to wobble and her chin will tremble... It's going to be unwatchable.

I dont like what they have planned for Fizz, but (silver lining and all) it will mean more screentime for Tyrone and him having to be serious. I do think the actor who plays him will shine.

Agree the Gail/Eileen thing was embarrassing. Gail has been left without a shred of credibility as a character, IMO. And why on earth would she start shouting about the godawful Michael being a failed burglar and whatnot, if she wanted him back. Silly stuff.

Liz's new man works for the brewery, so she has apparently known him a while.

The Gail cake thing was awful. She seemed to deliberately spread the chocolate on her top. And who cleans cake off their fingers by wiping said fingers on a plate? You lick your fingers to clean off cake.
