With Miley gone, never to be heard of for the next 15 years until she turns up with a new head, at least Emily won't have to babysit her every day and night for the foreseeable future.

New thread where we can hope the scriptwriters wake up and actually start paying attention to plot lines and character histories.

She reminds me of Leila from Futurama (cartoon) crossed with Yootha Joyce

(but with two eyes and not purple hair)

elbowsdontsing2 · 03/07/2015 14:39

2 people died in the fire at carlas, i know kal died who was the other one

HirplesWithHaggis · 03/07/2015 14:53

Sophie's girlfriend Maddie died in an explosion at the builder's yard, caused by debris from Carla's flat fire.

Housemum · 03/07/2015 15:03

I don't remember Yootha having purple hair in George and Mildred... ;)

Jo4040 · 03/07/2015 15:44

Why do everyone in soap land always carry wads of cash in their purse/wallet. Im lucky if iv got three quid in in my purse. In silver.

Housemum · 03/07/2015 15:47

It's to buy the lunch/drinks etc that they can always afford to have. I hardly ever go to a pub, or have lunch in a café! And I have never bought a bottle of wine from a pub or corner shop (can't believe Fresco is that far that you couldn't nip there for a cheaper one) - they just love to splash the cash up there!

elbowsdontsing2 · 03/07/2015 16:23

thanks hirpleswithhaggis i forgot about maddie

woodhill · 03/07/2015 20:33

anyone sick of Julie, you're not that wonderful, get over yourself love

sweetgrape · 03/07/2015 20:55

Would Julie really be able to afford to take off round the world? As usual in Corrie moneys never a problem.

CandOdad · 03/07/2015 20:58

Julie is the one person I could believe could jet off. What commitments dies she have? No bills to sort etc since she squats at other peoples places all the time since Brian left.

southeastdweller · 03/07/2015 22:02

Julie was the type of person who'd have lots of savings and she only ever had herself to feed so although she loves her family and Dev's kids I can also believe she could jet off short-notice for a once-in-a-lifetime world jaunt.

theliverpoolone · 03/07/2015 22:16

So Tracey's going to disappear off to London for a while - er, has Amy crossed her mind at all??

AgathaChristie01 · 03/07/2015 22:46

I wish Tracy would go, even for a while. I'm assuming that she won't, once Bev arrives with news of Deirdre.
Todd and Jason seem to be friendly again, I thought Jason wouldn't forgive him that easily.

theliverpoolone · 03/07/2015 22:50

I thought that too, Agatha, about Todd and Jason. Today's scriptwriter must have missed those episodes Grin

Ellenora5 · 04/07/2015 00:04

I quiet liked Julie, she added a bit of fun to it, I'm dreading the funeral, I think they well feck it up big time, they can't get anything else right so I'm not holding out much hope for a decent send off for Deirdre, although I'm really hoping they prove me wrong.

AgathaChristie01 · 04/07/2015 08:51

True theliverpoolone Grin!
I also wonder where Todd is supposed to be living, he just appears on the Street randomly. As far as I remember, Eileen threw him out.

Same here Ellenora, I read that it is the scriptwriter who wrote Blanche's funeral scenes, also wrote Deirdre's, hopefully that means it will be okay.

I am sorry to see Julie leaving, but I'm not surprised. I'm guessing that any of the cast who see a chance of working elsewhere, will depart. I am sure they can see how poor the storylines are. The longer term characters and the newer 'celebrity' ones will be all that are left...

elbowsdontsing2 · 04/07/2015 14:31

has "bev" been in the street or is she someone whose mentioned but never seen

ProfYaffle · 04/07/2015 14:44

elbowsdontsing2 · 04/07/2015 17:35

oh its shellys mom blimy id forgotten all about her thanks profyaffle

Ellenora5 · 04/07/2015 21:02

Well that would be something Agatha, aww Blanche was great, one of the funniest for a long time, we can live in hope so :)

thenightsky · 04/07/2015 21:35

Marking place. Got back from hols this morning and have to watch off all episodes from the last week before I'm up to date.

NoMontagues · 05/07/2015 10:12

God I'd totally forgotten about Bev, thanks prof

Aww... Professor Yaffle Sad

AgathaChristie01 · 05/07/2015 10:30

I love watching old episodes, especially ones that feature Deirdre and Blanche. Deirdre's exasperated tones 'Mother!', as Blanche drops yet another clanger deliberately, aww, simply the best! Grin

AgathaChristie01 · 05/07/2015 10:34

We can live in hope Ellenora. I'm like you, a bit worried that it won't be well handled. I hope that they give time to just show the various characters gently reminiscing and remembering her, rather than trying to twist it immediately into yet another dramatic storyline that gets dropped shortly afterwards.

Jo4040 · 05/07/2015 11:30

It's all gona be about Tracy apparantly...
