Morning just put CJ on train home. He was the perfect wedding guest. Boys loved playing tag and hide and seek with him Smile and he is a great dancer too. I got many looks from the female guests.

In RL boys slept in!!! I've been up an hour. Pure bliss.

There's an adult version of hide and seek that CJ's very good at as well - hope he played it with you iceGrin.

It gives whole new meaning to the phrase 'ready or not, here I come' Blush

pixieg1rl · 31/05/2015 10:45

My 3 weeks in Kenya playing trains in the tunnel with CJ seems so long ago now.

Ilovelblue · 31/05/2015 11:28

Ilove laughs a very dirty laugh!

icemistOBE · 31/05/2015 12:48

Yes hide and seek was played in the early hours....
He also had his rummage in my bunker as promised

painted just caught up on your New York story. Wow, you took me from lovely, warm, romantic fuzziness to awful, growing disquiet and dread. Great twist in the story line which was completely unexpected. Please don't leave us hanging for too long!

orphan · 31/05/2015 13:40

Also, really enjoying greenstuff's ongoing consequences series. She captures perfectly the ups and downs of family life.

Don't want to resurrect the whole KD farrago but have you all read the conclusion to his latest? Very unlike his usual and I think sat rather uneasily with the omake bit. I disagree with his summation of CJ as someone who didn't communicate his feelings well at any point during the series. It was Charles who told Molly he loved her at the restaurant yet still wanted her to fulfill herself in her career.

Rhubarb01 · 31/05/2015 13:59

I didn't actually read the story but I read the comments at the bottom and know what you're referring to. It takes me back to the early days of this thread when we discussed the ins and outs (no pun intended) of each episode - oh wouldn't it be nice to do that with a new series - but I think that CJ probably doesn't appear to communicate well but it is all tied up with the difficulties of his situation as the OC and MD being the subordinate. He can't give his real opinions or say what he really feels until he's free of the restraints of leadership and you're right orphan it does happen in episode 5 when he's in civvy street. I don't suppose we can tell what he's really feeling from the first four episodes apart from the bunker scene and it's him again who says what he feels in his heart echoed with the 'Ditto'. Sighs - happy days!

rhubarb absolutely fantastic series of chapters of misunderstood this afternoon. Really sad that it's finished, but what a great way to tie it all up. You are such a talented storyteller. Smile

Ilovelblue · 31/05/2015 14:20

Rhubarb lovely final chapter of Misunderstood. Sad it's finished though! Will you write again or are you having a well earned rest?

Ilovelblue · 31/05/2015 14:46

Don't know how many of you are Radio 2 fans or have children who have entered Chris Evans' 500 words competition. I listened to the winners' stories being read out on Friday morning but must have missed the Duchess of Cornwall's speech. It was reported in yesterday's Telegraph (OK, so I'm a day late reading, it happens most of the time now because I spend so much time on here). How much of it rings true with us on this thread:

"Stories allowed the reader to meet impossible people and fall in love".

"Like climbing through the wardrobe into Narnia, stories open doors into different worlds".

"We fall in love with heroes and heroines and can't turn the pages fast enough to find out what happens. We meet impossible people, travel to remote places and make hundreds on new friends".

It all struck me as very appropriate to us on this thread!

????????????
amazing updates today just had an indulgent hour or so catching up.

Richtea19 · 31/05/2015 16:21

rhubarb wow, what an amazing end to Misunderstood! You are a fantastic author, just stunning. You deserve a well earned break, but please, please at some stage write some more. You have a massive talent for story telling, and I can't wait to read more from Tofeecrisp!

Now off to read the update from painted - I love rainy Sundays

icemistOBE · 31/05/2015 16:25

And the final chapter from SPO will have to read it later. Littlest fast asleep on my knee.

Wow that's a whole load of updates. Hmm, how long until bedtime?

Rhubarb01 · 31/05/2015 16:39

Thanks for the comments and reviews ladies. Its a huge relief to me to get it finished as I desperately wanted to have done it before the kids go back to school tomorrow. I am very behind with so much that I just need to devote some weeks to RL. Also been a bit under the weather the last few days which hasn't helped - possibly burning the candle at both ends too much! I've got some plans for something which I might put out on Fictionpress but I'm going to work on it slowly at my own pace for a while. If it looks viable I'll let you know.

Ilove I caught the end of the competition on the radio on Friday and heard that speech and it was so true. I also heard one of the winning stories in the 5-9 category read out and it was brilliant with a great twist. I think it was called 'Fight for Life'. Some seriously talented kids out there. I was in the car with my kids when we heard it and they all enjoyed it too.

BK28 · 31/05/2015 17:28

Rhub after those fantastic chapters and wonderful conclusion I think you have earnt yourself a well deserved rest!!! But thanks for giving us the privilege of reading it!!!

BK28 · 31/05/2015 17:31

Heard the show OK n Friday ,I love and had exactly the same thoughts re HRH's speech...as they say great minds think alike or do you think she might be a lurker??!!Shock

Ilovelblue · 31/05/2015 18:09

ice are you sure you put CJ on the right train, only he has just turned up on my doorstep! I've bundled him inside and locked the doors and windows in case that pesky double act of orphan and woof are following on close behind.

Ilovelblue · 31/05/2015 18:11

BK I laughed when I read her speech in the paper as I also wondered if she's a lurker!

orphan · 31/05/2015 18:27

ilove what a delightful train journey that was. I dusted off my trolley steward outfit, loaded up my wares and have to say CJ spent a long time having a good riffle through through everything I had on offer. He said my selection of nuts was second to none I have to admit I am expert at selecting nuts and was most taken by my walnut whips.

orphan · 31/05/2015 18:32

Am saving the ff for bedtime. Dp is away for the week now so I can enjoy them in peace and don't have to pretend I'm doing something else! He can't believe I'm still interested in reading OG ff...

Rhubarb01 · 31/05/2015 19:00

If we get a new member of the thread using the name HRH or JustcallmeCamilla it will probably be a hint that she's de-lurked.

Ilovelblue · 31/05/2015 19:32

orphan I've detailed CJ to be on the lookout for any unwelcome guests. He's taken it a bit further than I thought and is doing a stake out in my apple tree. He reckons there's a mad looking woman in a Virgin Trains uniform wandering up and down the road. At least I can tidy up a bit whilst he's hiding in the tree because I definitely wasn't expecting visitors today. Luckily I've changed the bedding this morning - quite fortuitous really!

Back to RL, I put the summer duvet on this morning - well it is June tomorrow - but it's very breezy and not very warm in Lancashire.

orphan · 31/05/2015 20:19

ilove I had to embroider ironic inverted commas round the Virgin on my uniform...Blush
