Shopping and 5yoold do not mix. Gonna wear something I already have. Did get some new makeup which is really what I needed.

I'm surprised the sun's rays penetrated through the old pelt, orph - fur is usually such a good barrier against sunburn and I'm surprised you didn't arrange your Rapunzel pony tail in such a way as to protect your arms more.

If we do this library loan thing do you think we should organise ourselves into a book club too? Giving reviews on our favourite bits!! I doubt very much our 'loans' will sit untouched gathering dust on the shelves while we read ff when we can indulge in the real thing!!

woof my Rapunzel hair was protecting my legs actually. I'd arranged it like a travel rug.

I think we both know the legs are hairy enough to look after themselves orph - in future more attention is obviously needed to the top half. Shouldn't be a problem with the level of growth usually experienced in a woman of your mature years. Shucks, I've got a 5 o'clock shadow by midday these days...and that's after using a 5-blade Gillette every morning.

Got caught red-handed reading it though. There has been nobody sitting near me for ages now so I can generally dip in and out of MN when I like and recently have started reading the ff on my work screen too. My boss often manages to creep up behind me - usually I can hear people as they approach but not him. There I was in the middle of the wedding reception scene. Blushed like mad, tried to pass it off as a hot flush and all the while thinking "Please let my screensaver kick in soon!" If I'd turned round to minimise the screen, it would have made matters worse. I just hope his eyesight wasn't good enough to pick out the website name!

lola so pleased your back with jake's secret - fantastic chapter!

Years ago when I was a PA (no attractive bosses for me) I worked for a vertically challenged editor who had the necessary temper tantrums for his job. He would always sneak up on you as you couldn't see him over the top of the computer till it was too late, always wanted to buy him one of those hairbands with the bouncy bits at the top like you get at Christmas,
with antlers or something or even better wee fairy wings so at least there was something amusing about him - sadly I don't think he would have been up for it!!!

icemist I spotted it too and wrote a positive review. I love that these characters our playmates are still inspiring new writers and that they are brave enough to put their stories out there. Of course I continue to be completely captivated with the stories of the esteemed writers on here. I still get excited each time I get a new chapter update.

Lola what was even worse about being caught reading your story was that when I passed off the embarrassment as a hot flush, my boss (who is a genuinely lovely guy) decided to sympathise and say how his wife was suffering in a similar fashion. Not sure whether I should be flattered he was sympathetic as lots of men would run a mile or just mortified.

PS: I am sadly at an age where hot flushes are becoming quite normal so in a way it was easy to pass off the "caught in the act" thing off as hormonal!

jen I'm totally hooked on Seeking Assistance. A brilliant story, and I just know there will be plenty of the JenMc twists and turns and angst!! Bring it on!!!!

Spent this evening catching up on the fanfic fest. jen lola whaj absolutely blimmin brilliant, I love all three of those stories and hope there's plenty more to come. The new writer of Life after Afghan is very good too. Really must go to bed now

Blimey it was quiet on here last night! I was tucked up sleeping early for the second night in a row, feel like a new woman today! happy Friday everyone!

Thanks rich and woof! Not got a full plan for it yet (flying by the seat of my pants with this one) although taking it to the office desk in reality seems to be a popular choice for where it ends up!

Poor you ilove. I only check this on my phone at work as I'm forever being sneaked up on because my desk faces the window. Lovely view, but can never get any sneaky internet browsing done! I was finishing that chapter during my lunch hour yesterday when he rocked up at my desk, but thankfully minimised just in time. (He's 100% nowhere near a CJ lookalike unfortunately!!)
