Oh ice that just cheered up my far too early morning train journey! Thanks!

Ilovelblue · 26/05/2015 07:40

He's at his most absolute gorgeous in those bunker scenes I think.

Havs the Aussies had episode 5 now? I can't remember what you said ice.

icemistOBE · 26/05/2015 07:54

Ooh ice headset shots so early in the morning, they must've cheered you up. See that little curl that just flicks over the Velcro in pic 3? Don't you just want to twiddle it? Lush. And don't even go there with pic 2 - i need to switch the washing machine on (again) Blush

SoEverybodyDance · 26/05/2015 10:28

Morning woof are you and Orphan polishing up your double act, writing a script... Hope so...

Alwaysfrank · 26/05/2015 10:29

Well Jen's story appeared on my kindle - hurray! Does anyone know if new chapters will update automatically? As you can tell technology is not my thing....

Whajeb - which is your story? I get so confused with the different names. Are you pinerug?

I am going to have a real ff-fest this summer, wifi or no wifi!

WHAJEB1 · 26/05/2015 10:35

Hello always I'm kinship - pixie is the fab pinerug.

orphan thank you your lovely review came through - thank youGrin

Rhubarb01 · 26/05/2015 11:11

always glad it worked but I'm not sure about the automatic updates to unfinished stories. I'm going to test the theory later as I am planning to update and have loaded the unfinished story onto my Kindle. I suspect it might need to be deleted and reloaded. I'm afraid the new chapter has been a hard slog. I find all the review trouble off-putting and distracting and tend to go an do anything other than write and I'm also starting to suffer from what I can only call expansionitis as each chapter seems to be getting longer than the previous one. Might gonna need to do some serious hacking a bit like those big bushes yesterday!

KeziaOAP · 26/05/2015 11:17

Morning, I'm back Smile. Had a really dodgy internet connection for a few days, tried to post and the thingy just kept going round and round and then timed out. Fingers crossed OK this morning. Good or bad thing is I've caught up with a few jobs in the house and garden.

Been catching up with Jen's lovely new story, can relate to a certain extent I met my late husband at work, became his temporary secretary when his usual sec was off ill. He didn't ask me out or make a move until after his sec returned five months later and I'd returned to my own office. We married three years later and were together for 45 years.

dance fab update Grin.

Thank you ice Q of IT for fanfic link to kindle, before internet went belly up did manage to download a couple of Jen's stories sat in the garden on Saturday and read both, legs got a bit sunburnt Hmm.

Not on twitter but do have a FB a/c mainly to keep up to date with far flung nephews and nieces, if I join in MN ff group will have to set up under a pseudonym , don't want others to know what I'm up to.

KeziaOAP · 26/05/2015 11:44

orphan I didn't finish Wolf Hall my DD did but found it hard going and she does read a lot of historical novels.

SoEverybodyDance · 26/05/2015 11:46

Thanks Kezia I had to do the same thing with fb and set up a pseudonym. It took a while for fb to accept me as something related to dance, but painted showed me the way and it was okay in the end. Now the trouble is keeping up with two fb accounts. This ff has taken me into a world of second, secret identities and I can't quite cope with all the pseudonyms, passwords, email accounts, and god help me when it comes to posting, I'm terrified Ill let the cat out of the bag at some point! My DH is already becoming suspicious! But as usual he is utterly wrong and his suspicions are quite laughable...

orphan · 26/05/2015 12:18

rhubarb oh don't trim your chapters - I like the sound of having more to read.

I'm with you on not finishing Wolf Hall kezia. I really enjoyed it whilst I was reading it, but then put it down and never picked it up again. It was a library copy and I got fed up of continually renewing it. Oh and I love the story of how you met your husband! I'm picturing sexy secretary pencil skirts and slick business suits with turned up sleeve/ tanned forearm...

Still haven't mustered the energy to sort out the kindle stuff. Will have a go this evening as I'm taking dd to see Pitch Perfect 2 this afternoon.

Onlygirljen · 26/05/2015 12:21

kez it's a secret group, so nobody can see that you've joined it or what you get up to - honest!

Must confess, I was a PA back in the day, and there were plenty (and still seem to be plenty in my current workplace) of dalliances between the staff! None featuring me, I might add! Smile

KeziaOAP · 26/05/2015 12:29

orphan wouldn't fit into a pencil skirt these days too many lumps and bumps. I definitely fancied him from the off, hadn't met him before, at the time didn't think the feelings were reciprocated. He did have a number of lusty female admirers in the office, caused a bit of a problem with one in particular when we went public. Tanned forearms yes, dark hair, blue eyes, may aunt always thought he had Italian blood.... haven't found any evidence in FH research.

Rhubarb01 · 26/05/2015 12:43

Oh Kezia I love that story. Your late DH sounds like my dad looked back in the day. When they first moved into their new house in the early 60's my Dad had a really good suntan (he always tans well) from being in Devon on holiday and all the new neighbours thought my mum was married to a foreigner. I've seen all the old photos of my dad as a young man and I can imagine how your husband might have looked back then. We've always reckoned there's mediterranean blood somewhere on his side.

KeziaOAP · 26/05/2015 12:43

rhubarb a like long chapters don't do any pruning Wink.

KeziaOAP · 26/05/2015 12:45

oops should be I like long chapters.........

pixieg1rl · 26/05/2015 12:50

I'm imagining you as Joan Harris in Mad Men now Kezia.

Aside from one office dalliance (that taught me a lesson) I've never fancied anyone I worked with. I used to work for a bloke who liked to pat my bottom, more sexual harassment than sexy though.

Where's woof got to? I've got visions of her overcome by Bold fumes as she leans too forcefully against the twin tub thinking about CJ in a headset. Her electricity bill must be sky high.

BK28 · 26/05/2015 13:09

rhub no pruning required - long chapters are fine, don't be put off updating.
Observationally from having reread a lot of the reviews it actually looks like it only happens on one authors downloads - unless you guys are picking up stuff that doesn't appear in the public domain! Please don't let them get to you because we love your writing!! Star Star

So Dance I'm really with you on the multiple accounts - I have 2 FB accounts - one for stalking following my DS at uni, but he is really IT savvy so does things in closed groups (I think that is the official term for secret), plus one for OG!! The DH knows about MN and FF but I think the FB account might be a step too far. Actually not sure how I'm going to manage them. Wine Cake

RE ff readers I'm glad that I don't have it on my phone or life would actually stop!! On my android tablet I just browse and download once a day and then update my library for mobile reading!!

Question for the IT Queen -ice once we are in the FB group does that mean we can just post straight away we don't have to invite the other members to be friends do we?

BK28 · 26/05/2015 13:12

orphan would love a review of Pitch perfect 2 if poss - loved the first one and just need to know whether its the cinema or wait until its in the £5 bin in Tesco!

BK28 · 26/05/2015 13:20

Work dalliances were rife in the world of supermarket retail in my day pixie something to do with antisocial long hours and dark corners of warehouses, nothing as glamorous as pencil skirts and business suits!! Admit to getting my fingers burnt a couple of times - but eventually found real love away from the trade!!
Kezia it sounds like you found yourself a good'un!! Plus 45 years is something for us all to aspire too!!

cjwoofwoof · 26/05/2015 13:28

Ok I'm back in the room pixie after a 90 degree wash and extra spin cycle of individual tea towels, whilst ogling a full length poster of CJ in Headset down in my laundry basement at Woof Towers. Uncannily I'm feeling as regenerated as the tea towels, but nowhere near as clean.

Dancey I'm not sure mine and orph s fingers are upto much writing. If you only knew what we've had to do with our hands over the last 30 years you'd understand. Not all of it pleasant, as dear Ian Ogilvy will testify.

icemistOBE · 26/05/2015 13:33

You can post straight away. It is really secret so you only need to use an alter ego if u really want to. As its secret we can add you as a member via email or by adding me or lolagirl as a friend we can then add you into the group

There is no pressure for anyone to join. Any news etc I shall always share here first Smile

Fabulous update rhubarb, I'm waiting out in suspense for the next. I know what you mean about Reviewgate, I was extremely nervous about posting yesterday (whaj can confirm!) but I'm sure all of the nonsense will die down, feels like it's starting to already.

Somewhat ironically, I'm typing this post from my swivel chair and do have a pencil skirt on Smile. No CJ lookalike boss unfortunately!

Alwaysfrank · 26/05/2015 13:54

Thinking about it there's no way it will automatically update because all you are doing via ficsave (I think) is emailing a document to your kindle. I need to experiment. Yours is in the next batch, whatjeb, along with all the other MN writers!
