woof looks very fetching in her sheepskin coat jen. Just wish she wouldn't team it with her crocs and fishnets (and by fishnets, I don't mean stockings but actual pilchard nets... )

orphan · 25/05/2015 21:12

Oh and ilove 'sausage casserole' is what Rupert and I call our after dinner relaxation.

Richtea19 · 25/05/2015 21:28

I can't think of a sausage casserole without thinking of DLewis!!!

cjwoofwoof · 25/05/2015 21:45

And orph looks the business in her blue parka, smoking a roll up and wearing a fake gold 'O' chain when we're at the market with our suitcases of hooky videos jen. She's currently embracing the Uncle Albert beard, but below the waistband so to speak.

And AT and I prefer a sausage hotpot with extra large onion rings btw

orphan · 25/05/2015 22:21

Well of course toad in the hole is on the menu when AT comes a calling at mine.

orphan · 25/05/2015 22:24

And I am partial to a saveloy (not battered of course much to Rupert's relief )

pixieg1rl · 25/05/2015 22:28

Oh I do love a battered sausage, but these days I tend to regret it in the morning....

cjwoofwoof · 25/05/2015 22:32

Oh you and your sausage banter orph reminds me of that incident with the hot dogs at Brize Norton Sunday Flea Market when you insisted on setting up our stall just outside the officers barracks instead of the public car park. How we laughed at the quantity of prize pork we got through that weekend.

SoEverybodyDance · 25/05/2015 22:51

Oh you two, orphan and woof thank you, thank you! You cheer me up instantly.

Do you not think you could do an FF trollopy double act... you could have different chapters, like when orphan and woof went to Brize Norton, or when Orphan and Woof visited the BBC, or when Orphan and Woof went to Devon, something like that. Have a feeling it would be VERY amusing.

Wouldn't you like to read something like this ladies? I definitely would!

orphan · 25/05/2015 23:05

Oh yes woof we are quite the connoisseurs of sausage aren't we? Remember the time we went continental and signed up for that 7 day coach trip of Germany? We were almost sick of the sight of bratwurst by the end. We just wanted a good old British banger, straight up. And if I remember correctly dear Ian Ogilvy stepped up to the plate, so to speak

pixieg1rl · 25/05/2015 23:07

OG/mumsnet/Minder/Cissie & Ada mashup. The mind boggles.

orphan · 25/05/2015 23:13

whajeb loved your latest chapter as usual. Tried to leave a review but I think it didn't go through for some reason, but rest assured it was glowing!

Oh dance I'll leave the writing in the capable hands of woof (those same hands that can squeeze a sausage out of its casing in the time it takes AT to scream ' hands off my cumberland').

SoEverybodyDance · 25/05/2015 23:17

Oh orphan, I quite disagree it needs to be a double act where you undermine each other... and I think you should put yourselves at the top of the bill as the headline standup 'ladies' of whatever event we are organising next. I'd love to see it...

Ilovelblue · 25/05/2015 23:31

Dance it has to be at the AGM surely. By my reckoning, it should be the anniversary of the last OG episode, so we are looking at 19 October or the nearest weekend. Maybe we need to start sending out invitations and getting the tickets ready!!

Rhubarb01 · 25/05/2015 23:32

I don't know if woof and Orphan have ever heard of Ladies of Letters which was a comic Radio 4 series based on some books but basically it's two older ladies who write to each other about everything going on in their lives and families and rather comically and witheringly put each other down - but much more politely than you two!

I agree with dance it needs to be two hander. If someone had the time and patience they could go back through several threads and pick up all your comments and exchanges - that would make comic reading especially all those Poldark ones. Maybe you could fashion those into a tale on a number of different themes - Poldark, Sport behind the Iron Curtain and now Only Fools and Horses.

Ilovelblue · 25/05/2015 23:39

Rhubarb I bought the DVD of Ladies of Letters in a charity shop a while back but for some unknown reason (maybe this thread, OG and CJ have some bearing on this) I have never watched it yet. Is it worth a look?

Rhubarb01 · 25/05/2015 23:47

Ilove I haven't seen the TV version. I think it might have had Maureen Lipman and Anne Reid doing it. I've only heard it on Radio 4 Extra as 15 minute sketches. I thought it was quite funny. They also re-ran The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole recently and that made me laugh too in spite of it being set thirty odd years ago. Poor Adrian reminds me of a male version of Saffy in Absolutely Fabulous as he is more grown up and serious than his parents.

orphan · 25/05/2015 23:48

Oh yes rhubarb didn't it have Hyacinth Bouquet actress in it? Or at least that's the voice I'm remembering.

I'm rather offended of course that you feel I put woof down. Quite the contrary: I'm very supportive of her, both metaphorically and unfortunately literally. I'm thinking of the time she'd overindulged once again her love of sausage and had a bilious attack and I helped hose her down. Her sheepskin never really recovered.

Ilovelblue · 25/05/2015 23:53

Yes, it was those two actresses. I have several DVDs lined up to watch, just like I have several books by the bed to read but this thread (and heaven forbid now the Facebook one) is just far too addictive.

SoEverybodyDance · 25/05/2015 23:53

And orphan how aptly you demonstrated that whether you are putting Woof down or supporting her, the result is tremendous!

Rhubarb01 · 25/05/2015 23:54

Yes there's nothing worse than a damp, smelly, sheepskin coat! Or was that her skin you were referring to?

Perhaps 'putting down' was the wrong word. Naturally I was thinking of the competitive nature of your relationship particularly in relation to the affections of Captain Poldark. I fear that there was a touch of schadenfreude about the relationship between Darkie and Prudey or am I just reading a little too much into it?

orphan · 25/05/2015 23:56

frank sorry I'd meant to say welcome back earlier!

And kezia I hope you're still with us?

orphan · 25/05/2015 23:58

kezia did you ever finish Wolf Hall?

orphan · 26/05/2015 00:08

Well when you put it that way rhubarb... The sad truth of the matter is that for Darkie there was an awful lot of misfortune and an awful lot that was misfortunate. Her saddlebags for instance... she always did carry a lot if weight in that area

icemistOBE · 26/05/2015 06:33

Morning Smile

I need something to brighten my early start. You can see his tongue roll in the middle shot Grin
