Thanks jen for the comments.

I think the thing with reviewgate is not that I intend to be controversial or join in with it - god forbid - it's just that it sucks the fun out of FF for everyone no matter who you are or what you think and I don't like name calling happening and terms being bandied about willy-nilly. We all know life's too short for all that considering it's just about a TV programme we all like. Anyway enough said. Onwards and upwards everyone.

I have to confess that I did set up a FB account this weekend like others under a false name but to be honest I am so perplexed by the way the whole thing works as you will tell from me being so pleased at getting a mere Kindle download to work. Anyway, I think I'm going to bide my time before I consider joining.

Rhubarb01 · 26/05/2015 14:22

Oh woof given my attempts to play UN peacekeeper in my previous post however ill-fitted for the task I am - you must realise that I couldn't possibly condone physical violence against a fictional character! Or could I?

BK28 · 26/05/2015 14:24

rhub that is one hell of a suspense filled chapter, please don't ever doubt your prowess as a writer - you've just left me on the edge of my seat and I'm now going to have to reread to capture all the nuances that you cleverly throw in!! Brilliant!! Star

Rhubarb01 · 26/05/2015 15:25

You're very kind BK. I'm often surprised by how different I feel about something I've written to other's. Sometimes when I think others will like something the response can be a bit lukewarm and on other occasions I do a big sigh and think 'oh dear that's the best I can manage' and it goes down quite well. For reasons I've stated above I've just felt a bit apathetic for a few days - not because I am personally affected, I hasten to add. I didn't mean to imply any criticism of anyone in what I said before just that given the choice I know we'd all just be happily enjoying it without any controversy - sorry, I do worry about causing offence to anyone given the power of words to be misunderstood - it all feels a bit awkward, doesn't it. Will try to gee myself up - echoes of Darkie there!

cjwoofwoof · 26/05/2015 15:26

Ok Rhu give him a fictional slap round the fictional chops then lol

WHAJEB1 · 26/05/2015 15:41

Hey rhubarb loved your chapter as I do all of them, get very excited when I see an update from you. I did unfortunately manage to get caught up with reviewgate, I downloaded all my stories, copied and pasted my reviews with the intention of hitting the delete button. I was going to put it down to an experience in life, albeit a very satisfactory one where I met lots of lovely people. It was only by other supportive authors and reviewers pointing out that people do enjoy all of our stories and look forward to the ping that for one storm in a teacup it wouldn't be fair on them to give up. I took a deep breath and with the support of nipper and jen hit the publish button and have had brilliant encouragement from the reviewers. I feel that I have got my mojo back and am enjoying it again. Don't give up - we need you!!!

Rhubarb01 · 26/05/2015 16:26

Thanks whajeb. I'd decided to take a break from FF at the end of this story a few weeks ago before all the issues started again but it's just reinforced the decision really. I thought I would stop in February but persuaded myself into these last two stories. I won't stop writing but I'm just going to do something different as I feel I need a break from the delectable duo (I understand in HP fanfic they're know as the golden trio - so I reckon we can have a delectable duo).

orphan · 26/05/2015 17:08

rhubarb sad to hear that you'll be having a break from ff. I've loved all your stories so, so much. You're such a talented and skilful writer. You say you're still going to write though, so I hope that means original stories that we can read. Smile

BK I didn't enjoy Pitch Perfect 2 nearly as much as the first, I'm afraid. It didn't make me laugh really although the songs and the Daft Punk style group were good fun. Just a bit too saccharine and formulaic as a whole, I think. Maybe it was just disappointing in comparison to the first though, which I loved, so don't let me put you off!

There was however an incident right at the start of the film, 'Muff-gate', which I do believe they stole from woof's gymnastic career. In the case of woof it was an eye opening move on the asymmetric bars. After that, her leotard gusset seams were triple stitched.

KeziaOAP · 26/05/2015 17:34

pixie I'm flattered - Joan Harris in Mad Men Grin. Hair style about right for the era tho'.

KeziaOAP · 26/05/2015 17:36

rhubarb brilliant update, liking the intrigue of this story so many twists and turns. Am in the process of downloading your stories to kindle.

orphan · 26/05/2015 17:38

Great update woof. Glad to see you found time to post the next chapter. That lengthy session in the laundry room must have kick started your creative juices. The extra spin cycle does tend to have that effect.

Rhubarb01 · 26/05/2015 17:49

woof I loved it. You are a tonic and cheered me up, no end. You are always funny and this was no different.

BK28 · 26/05/2015 18:07

woof once again you have nailed it! Fantastic... coming up for air now having laughed from almost the first sentence...What else can one say - you bring a totally different approach to the OG world, the purists might not like it BUT we love it !! Thanks for the giggle!! Wine Star

BK28 · 26/05/2015 18:10

Thanks for the review orphan , it is sad that they so often can't make an original sequel. Will wait out for the reduced bin!!

orphan · 26/05/2015 18:28

I think as with a lot of films, the best bit was right at the start BK. Muff-gate was funny and they used clips of the Obamas so it looked as if it was all happening in front of the horrified President. Of course, in woof's case in the '76 Olympics, it was the President of the IOC who was the unexpected recipient of a 'special viewing'. It took a long time for poor woof to be able to show her face in public again though it wasn't her face that was instantly recognisable.Blush

cjwoofwoof · 26/05/2015 18:30

Thank you for the kind words ladies. You're right orph you can't beat a synthetic wash and very quick spin to get you in the mood for what's contained in CJs pants Grin

I do indeed remember my very own "muff-gate" on those pesky bars orph But as I dismounted right in front of the male USSR pommel horse squad that particular cloud had a very silver lining later on back at my hotel

cjwoofwoof · 26/05/2015 18:31

And let's just say my smile was printed on many a souvenir tea towel that year

cjwoofwoof · 26/05/2015 18:43

...although everyone thought it was a picture of the bearded East German beam gymnast with the toothless grin...

icemistOBE · 26/05/2015 19:22

Meant to say earlier, if you send me a friend request on FB can you message me so I know where I know you from Smile

OP posts:
orphan · 26/05/2015 19:46

Oh yes woof that encounter with the USSR pommel horse team...Weren't you able to straddle a pommel horse lengthways afterwards? And yet another article in a medical journal was devoted to you, Bow legs - A Straddle Too Far

BK28 · 26/05/2015 19:52

orphan thank you for your insightful commentary to woofs modesty ... they really do brighten the day!!

Don't think I' m going to be able to look at a pommel horse in school in the same way again!! Grin

Onlygirljen · 26/05/2015 19:56

Evening all. Just back from a lovely dinner with a friend who is emigrating at the end of the week, feeling delighted for her but will miss her an awful lot.

On top of that, found out this afternoon that one of eldest DS's lovely after school carers has passed away suddenly. She was the same age as me, and only had a little baby 6 months ago. Has left us all feeling a bit shell shocked. DS is devastated, how on earth do you explain that kind of loss to an 8 year old? Confused. Makes you realise we take far too much for granted!

Sorry for uber depressing post, pls cheer me up with tales of sausages and woof's muff! I need it tonight (not woof's muff obvs)!!

Rhubarb01 · 26/05/2015 20:05

Oh jen that is dreadful. What a shock for everyone and her poor family. I suppose if there is a reason you can explain it to your DS like illness or something it is the only way. It depends on the circumstances. I only said earlier this afternoon life's too short and there you are. Don't really know what to say apart from read woof's latest to cheer yourself up.

icemistOBE · 26/05/2015 20:05

Oh jen that's awful. (((Hugs)))
