And yesterday woof did rather ungallantly point out my unfortunate mat of chest hair.

cjwoofwoof · 15/05/2015 18:06

Although dear Ian did enjoy twirling his fingers in your chest hair orph as well as what he thought was my facial stubble. Silly boy soon realized his error of course when I finished my headstand and stood back upright.

orphan · 15/05/2015 19:04

Oh woof I'd forgotten your gymnastic abilities. Quite the Olga Korbut weren't you (but with the build of Geoff Capes). Your dismount was the stuff of nightmares legend.

cjwoofwoof · 15/05/2015 19:13

Ooh yes orph and do you remember that night when I straddled the bar?

Onlygirljen · 15/05/2015 19:22

Can I just say thanks, ladies? Have come home after a really crap, demoralising, unrewarding day at work to be totally cheered up by your lovely comments Smile.

mummyr I do travel a fair bit for work but definitely wouldn't describe it as high flying! I have a colleague who recently left us to become a SAHM and I was very jealous of her change in lifestyle!

The patient seems to be doing well today, now hobbling around on the cast like a pro, trying to wrestle his brother etc. nothing keeps him down for long! Smile

Off to pour a large glass...Wine

Rhubarb01 · 15/05/2015 19:44

It took me a few minutes to work out what a SAHM was jen. I had all sorts of possibilities in mind but reckon it should really be Super Active Home Manager just as I believe that a housewife is really a Home and Family Manager.

Rhubarb01 · 15/05/2015 19:53

Well I'm here I must just say to woof and orphan ooh you are awful but I like you!

You really should consider forming a comedy writing partnership - I'm guessing it would be a bit retro, mind you. But that could be new and fresh after years of alternative stuff.

Back to gardening and talking of pumpkins, courgettes and male and female flowers I remember a few years ago we grew a melon from the seeds of a supermarket melon and had to keep it in the conservatory as plant grew longer and longer and stretched all the way round the window sills. It had little yellow male and female flowers and we did eventually end up with a perfect little canteloupe melon which we ate! Perhaps some of you have grown larger melons - over to you!

Onlygirljen · 15/05/2015 20:01

rhubarb, I may have a well tended and welcoming garden, but I've never been able to master the art of growing large melons unfortunately Confused.

Was happy to hear you'd been in this neck of the woods for the games. It was a really special time in the city, wonderful atmosphere!

dance I just read your update. And yes, I'm very annoyed - you can't leave it there!! Grin. I'm very much looking forward to the next chapter..!

orphan · 15/05/2015 20:14

Glad your patient is doing well jen. I wish I had the same restorative powers!

I'm quite lost in happy memories now woof. Your floor routine tossing the balls, whilst doing the splits always received a big hand. Perhaps you should resurrect some of the old routines to show Matthias?

Rhubarb01 · 15/05/2015 20:21

Jen we really enjoyed it although I have to confess that all I have seen of Glasgow is exactly what I stated in my post. My DH and DS went to see the Hockey and travelled by train into the centre so they saw more because they were on foot. We spent a week just north of Edinburgh with brilliant views over the Firth of Forth and the bridges and visited some family who live up on the north east coast.

I went up to London for the Olympics and the atmosphere in Glasgow was just as good. I went to the athletics with both my DD's, my sister and my mum so it was a lovely family occasion and we loved bellowing out 500 miles and cheered every home nation competitor. The thing though that still makes us laugh is when we were returning to the Park and Ride buses and we were the only ones nearby one of the games people standing there with her enormous foam hand and a megaphone decided to wait until we were about three feet away to bellow at us through it "DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOU ARE GOING?" we were too polite to yell back, "YES WE DO". They were all great and it was really well organised. I would like to actually see the sights one day. However, the kids are not keen to return any time soon as it took us ten hours to drive back from Edinburgh mainly due to dreadful roadworks on the M6. We only stopped for a wee twice and DH was literally eating sandwiches as he drove. The rest of my family who live further south than us wisely flew and were home hours before us.

pixieg1rl · 15/05/2015 20:48

Can I add to the thanks for the CJ and orphan show, a cross between Round the Horne and Are you being served. Very welcome after a day of Angry at not so DP. I'm biting my tongue so hard with him I might bite it off.

SoEverybodyDance · 15/05/2015 21:31

No large melons for me either Rhubarb but I am expecting some sizeable courgettes considering the love and attention I am lavishing on them.

Sorry to tease Jen would you believe ages ago the chapter didn't end there. And then the two section banter had to be lengthened for plot purposes... And so, I had to chop it...

Ha ha, I have just been looking at pictures of Are you Being Served and remembering how Mrs Sloccombe always used to talk about her pussy. Woof and Orphan you are a marvellous pair...

Ilovelblue · 15/05/2015 21:34

Dance had another thought about your courgettes. Apologies if you know this already and I don't want to sound patronising if you do know, but it takes a while usually for the female flowers to appear and you get a lot of male flowers in the early stages. Apparently, it has something to do with the light levels in late May/early June.

Glad it's the weekend. I must, must, must do some housework as the place is very untidy. I have spent most of this evening in the kitchen making meals for the freezer. There was so much going on at one stage, the cooker looked more like something the witches in Macbeth might be dancing round! Anyway, all done now and I feel quite virtuous, especially as I'm making stock from the remains of the chicken.

I had an offer from Groupon earlier which suggested a "Ninety minute canal cruise with cream tea". It made me laugh, thinking of you lot and CJ! I'm sure canal cruise could be a euphemism.

Loved all of today's ff and agree with whoever accused Dance of being cruel leaving the story hanging! Please hurry up with the next instalment! Rhubarb you are really putting us through the mill with CJ and Molly!!

cjwoofwoof · 15/05/2015 21:45

orph I just remembered why I had to straddle the bar - it was so you and dear Ian got free drinks all night and a jolly useful bottle opener on hand.

You're right of course, Matthias may need a good floor show with a couple of bouncing balls, but I'm strugling with the appearance of my Olga Korbut 1976 leotard without looking like Mrs Overall in the Acorn Antiques gym episode.

Dance sizeable courgettes would indeed be a triumph and that's what I'm aiming to achieve with Matthias after said floor show

Wycombe123 · 15/05/2015 22:00

Of course I was at the match nickel! I just about managed to restrain myself from joining in the pitch invasion at the end Smile

Sounds as though I need to try and avoid tripping up over cubs in our local woods this weekend!

pixieg1rl · 15/05/2015 22:23

Ok my handy bunch of OG deranged obsessives experts, please can I make use of the hive mind for ff purposes. Is Fingers a City fan? I get a bit confused in the bunker scene when the ANA bloke is talking about football teams. I have zero interest in football but I need to get Fingers' team right for a story.

Ilovelblue · 15/05/2015 22:29

Pixie he talks of being "a red" I think which would make him a United fan. I'm not into football but work with numerous guys who either support United or City. I can watch the DVD again for you if you like?

Ilovelblue · 15/05/2015 22:33

Yes, just flicked it on - he's definitely United.

Onlygirljen · 15/05/2015 22:35

He's Man United pix. Sounds like you need a Wine, well done with the tongue biting!

pixieg1rl · 15/05/2015 22:36

Thanks ilove, mentally rewrites ff

Onlygirljen · 15/05/2015 22:36

Ooh ilove beat me to it! Smile

pixieg1rl · 15/05/2015 22:38

probably should lay off the Wine now jen, my response to today was to get out the big wine glasses and put an extra bottle in the fridge.

Ilovelblue · 15/05/2015 22:40

pixie are we allowed to ask if this is a new ff or the continuation of one of your others? Or is it a case of "Ask me no questions, I'll tell you no lies"??

pixieg1rl · 15/05/2015 22:44

Its for a new one ilove. I've got 2 stories following Nyota planned out (very early stages), and at least 1 one-shot.

I'm being a bit naughty and writing the sequel to nyota already, even though I haven't finished nyota. The bloody thing is in my head and I HAVE to write it down.

Ilovelblue · 15/05/2015 22:46

I don't think you will hear any of us complaining pixie. Be as naughty as you like!!
