Thanks Ilove for that handy tip about early male flowering that promises much and delivers nothing... hmmm! This is my first year growing courgettes from seed so any advice is much appreciated. Although after my truncated FF it sounds like I don't deserve it... sorry!

Can't say I've grown courgettes but I've done runner beans, in the hope that the kids might eat them. Unfortunately i managed "a bean for tea" and had to supplement with sainsburys!

Been to sports awards dinner at school tonight, DS got an award for running tonight. So proud.

I'm seconding the others and very much looking forward to more Nyota . I do love Fingers, although think it's fairly obvious that my most favourite 2 section member is Brains.

Spent the evening catching up on some tv that I've been storing on skyplus. Anybody else been watching The Affair on sky Atlantic? Just watched the first episode and it was promising, although it features a dodgy Dominic West American accent. Think I'll give the rest of it a go though.

Courgettes are one veg dp seems very good at growing. He does a mix of green and yellow and then after we're sick of eating them (sautéed, fritters, stuffed, grated, baked) he makes chutney. Yum.

I can't fathom the attraction of Dominic West although I admit he's a good actor. Meant to be some raunchy QS in the series, but probably very tame in comparison with what goes on here and on CJ's tour.

Orphan courgette chutney sounds very nice... if we get ours that far perhaps you would give us the recipe!

Jen Brains was also my favourite but when you championed him in your FF I had to look for an alternative for my FF! Fingers was probably my last choice, because he's quite an unsympathetic character, but then he started creeping in to my head more and more and I found a new direction for him (tee hee) and he's been warming to me ever since!

Your Brains and Molly relationship was fun and endearing and very well written, I thought!

orphan I don't see the appeal in DW either tbh, I only saw a bit of the wire although DH loved it. Joshua Jackson is also in the affair and a lot preferable in my opinion. A fair bit of QS in ep1, must be said. Maybe that's why I liked it!

I watched Dominic West in The Hour last year or year before. Didn't rate him Massively, but like you jen have it recorded on the planner to watch. Can't remember who watches Scandal with the gorg Scot Foley, he got stabbed!!!! Devastated !

Got told off this evening by both my boys for being embarrassing letching over the PE department! Is it me or are all the teachers SO young! And fit! Got told off for saying that too!

I'm getting too fond of DS's gymnastics instructor. He's about 20 and wears very tight shorts. I blame orphan & CJ for corrupting me.

Yes woof was often distracted in her training by the male USSR gymnastic team. Oh it's all flooding back now. Her swivelling on the pommel had to be seen to be believed.

I would have thought cj was mistaken for the USSR male gymnastics team, orphan, what with her sideburns and shoulder muscles

Ooh pixie you've seen pics of her in her glory days then cos that's an uncanny description. I do believe it was woof's wonderous physique that led to the first steroid tests being implemented.

did not want to be up this early grr!

One if the male teachers I saw at assembly yesterday made me feel a bit warm yesterday... I was also say beside a very handsome man on the tram coming home too.

Littlest watching some show on CBeebies it must be funny to him as he's just let out a proper belly laugh.

You got the pick of assemblies then yesterday Ice there wasn't a man in my assembly that made me feel like that!

My garden is looking much better after spending two days sorting out weeds growing in top of numerous pots and herbaceous borders. Can now get back to the serious stuff catching up with you ladies. woof and orphan comedy show, fantastic. Dance looking forward to next bit with eager anticipation. "Jen the ending for your story was excellent will re-read in one go. Rhubarb* another excellent chapter, more angst and misunderstandings.

ilove well done on the plant stall, it's worth all the hard work. I've been involved for over 25 years in a two day charity plant sale over the spring BH weekend, this year I'm have a break to let the younger ones take over the selling and have concentrated on getting plants ship shape and ready to go.

Talking about male and female flowers, if you leave the male flowers on cucumbers the fruit becomes bitter .

My son's drama teacher is lush!

I seem to be missing out here cos my children's teachers, even the PE staff, aren't dribble worthy and you know I'll drool over pretty much any male. I don't have any problem controlling myself at parents evenings.

Same here orphan, I want to know where to find the hot teachers / sports instructors maybe I'll take DS to football coaching this morning instead of hubs just to double check.

And what are all these references to comedy as regards woof and me? I'm rather put out that you would find our various trials, tribulations and constant battle against encroaching chest hair amusing. I do hope poor woof won't be too devastated by your callous laughter at her past gymnastic career. She's still very touchy that her range of leotards with innovative cantilevered engineering for support of canteloupes never took off.

Oh and on a gardening note, I had a severe case of allium envy at my friend's yesterday. We'd both bought the same bulbs but hers have produced an amazing display. Never pleasant to realise your borders aren't as attractive as your friend's

You know how we all seem to have stacks of unread books by our beds thanks to OG and this thread? I have an annual magazine subscription up for renewal. I've barely looked at it since February. Do you reckon it's time to cancel?
