It's a conspiracy. Maybe we ought to start firing off emails and things again. Just don't want to seem as obsessed as the OG Facebook group. I bet if OG gets the green light for another series, it will all take off easily enough.

Nickel45 · 10/05/2015 21:22

Loved the description John Bishop gave of how Graham Norton looked! Cheeky man!! .... sorry Graham, if you are reading this when you are looking for stuff about BA when you finally realise you need him on your show, but John was spot on! Wink

Ilovelblue · 10/05/2015 21:26

Agree Nickel that beard is not GN's best look in my view.

Have you calmed down a bit now about your cub camp?

Nickel45 · 10/05/2015 21:35

Yes, you guys are fab when you need a bit of support. Thank you. Told my leader that I didn't want to be the leader in charge, blah blah blah, and am not doing it now!! Phew! I think she panicked cos she'd not done anything, and the result was that she expected me to have done it all. Anyway ... this time next week it will all be over for another year. A week of panicky emails no doubt, but it will al be fine. As long as the kids are all there, there is food and tents and not too much rain (keep your fingers crossed!) it will all be fine. Today took some cubs on an orienteering "race" - am now wanting to sleep, but too much to do. I sometimes wonder why I agree to all this!! I'm sure it's character building and really good for me .... I keep telling myself that, but I seem to ache more each time!! Hey ho!

Jen sounds like you had a good time (as did RLC!) Grin Hope you are feeling better.

ice I like the idea of CJ reading bedtime stories, does it have to be on TV or is he offering himself out for personal readings? Wink

Ilovelblue · 10/05/2015 21:41

I think Nickel that if we were in charge of BA (as opposed to HH), we could have him diversifying into all sorts of other things - so bedtime stories are something we could add to his CV. Personally, I would be happy for him to start practising his readings on me. We've not had time for that previously but I would give it a go.

pixieg1rl · 10/05/2015 21:42

MrPixie complains that I watch too much TV, but I don't think I've seen anything that's even been nominated let alone won on Baftas.

Ilovelblue · 10/05/2015 21:45

Also, going back to your cubs, it looks good on your CV at the end of the day - helping in the community etc. And no doubt you do generally enjoy it, otherwise you wouldn't carry on?

It's our annual spring plant sale at work for our local children's hospice on Wednesday and I complain around this time each year that I am kn.....d and it's hard work, especially if we've had a very cold winter and/or spring, but I do like doing it really and the total to go to the hospice each time (usually around £400) makes it all worthwhile.

Nickel45 · 10/05/2015 21:51

You're right ilove, I do enjoy it mostly, just all a bit shattering at the moment!! That's brilliant for the hospice, hope you get even more this year. Is it one very local to you?

I've not seen any of the stuff on the Bafta's either pixie, I'm obviously watching completely the wrong stuff!

If we represented BA we would certainly have him diversifying!! Or at least in something that was on TV over here in the UK!

Ilovelblue · 10/05/2015 21:58

It's about 8 miles from my home but literally down the road from where I work and that's why we chose it - the most local charity to our office and everyone agreed on it with it being for sick children. We've already made £100 in advance orders - they're the best sort as it takes the pressure off us a bit on the day. I'll post a couple of pictures when we've got the stall set up on Tuesday night.

Nickel45 · 10/05/2015 22:05

That's lovely, such a good cause.
I meant to say before, but your pictures from last week were lovely. That first one of the houses round the courtyard was amazing, where was that?
Mind you, shame you couldn't convince CJ to be in them, although I assume he was too busy trying to fend off his admirers.

Ilovelblue · 10/05/2015 22:11

Those houses were through a little alleyway on the Royal Mile, at the Holyrood end.

CJ was busy with his throngs of American and Japanese admirers at the time. Far from fending them off, he was really playing to the crowds. I think I said there was more of the actor in him when they were around than the soldier. They didn't know he was a soldier anyway, it was just handsome man + kilt + being in Scotland that drew them all to him!

Ilovelblue · 10/05/2015 22:15

Don't know what's up with me this weekend but almost anything I've seen on television has made me want to burst into tears. It must be hormones! Just seen the VE Day celebrations on the news and that has made me snivel. I've had some sort of a bug for a few days with a cough but that doesn't usually make me want to cry! It started when I saw my friend's Mum in Edinburgh. I think I said she's 96 and in failing health and I suppose it hit me that it was very likely to be the last time I see her as she's not really fit to be travelling down here any more. When my Mum died 2 years ago, she came down from Edinburgh on the train for the funeral which really touched me as she's registered partially sighted too.

Rhubarb01 · 10/05/2015 22:19

Nickel what you said about CJ being in the pictures reminds me of the film 'up in the air' which I watched last week. George Clooney's sister and her fiance can't afford a honeymoon so they ask all their family and friends to take a large cardboard cut out of them all over the place and take a picture which they then stick up on a board showing them in places all over the world. We could do with something similar for CJ then he could be seen out and about everywhere. I fancy using the one of him legs akimbo, arms crossed in front of his chest, mock stern face ready to bestow a 'well done' speech.

icemistOBE · 10/05/2015 22:29

What a fab idea! A few years ago Thomas Cook used Jamie Redknapp to advertise holidays we had a life size cardboard version in the shop of course I had my photo taken with him

Nickel45 · 10/05/2015 22:31

Could I just have a cardboard cut out, I don't mind just keeping it here!

Ilovelblue · 10/05/2015 22:33

Haha Nickel, I was just thinking where in the house I would have such a cutout..... it has to be in the bedroom of course.

pixieg1rl · 10/05/2015 22:35

Oh yes, I'll have one of those at the foot of my bed

Nickel45 · 10/05/2015 22:36

of course, where else!

Rhubarb01 · 10/05/2015 22:40

I suppose to avoid complete embarrassment, seeing as he needs to be at least six foot two in height to be lifelike we would have to be able to fold him in a couple of places and only whip him out in public when no one else was about.

Nickel45 · 10/05/2015 22:46

As long as he was rigid the rest of the time rhubarb

icemistOBE · 10/05/2015 22:51

Ooh yes

Yep, that'd do fine :)

Ilovelblue · 10/05/2015 23:19

Graham Norton is sooooooooooooooooo going to love all this banter once his researchers point him in the right direction. We'll be hiding in our living rooms going scarlet with embarrassment whilst nonchalantly pretending we don't even know who Ben Aldridge is! (And having recorded the programme to watch over and over again of course).

Onlygirljen · 11/05/2015 06:43

Morning all! Back in the land of the living again after hitting my pit at the same time as the kids last night...

I meant to say that I'd dropped CJ off so that he could have some time with whajeb - hopefully she will then send him on his way to lola.

It was a tad upsetting to have to let him go after less than 24 hours so I'll settle for a cardboard cutout too. The idea reminds me of somebody we used to know socially who is a pilot. He's such an absolute bore that DHs nickname for him was Captain Cardboard.

Still love that pic TG tweeted. Got to agree with orphan, with that look he can penetrate me any day. Grin
