Thread XVI!! Hope you're good with roman numerals icemist, cos at this rate we'll be in seriously high numbers by the summer.

Nickel45 · 14/04/2015 18:09

Thank you ice knew you'd be watching out for it :)

Ilovelblue · 14/04/2015 18:18

Oh great, a new thread just before my trip to Amsterdam with CJ. BK and Painted hope you're ready to hand him over tomorrow morning, 7am prompt.

icemistOBE · 14/04/2015 18:26

Not really.. Might have to use normal numbers after 20

OP posts:
cjwoofwoof · 14/04/2015 18:52

I only understand XXL as that's what most of my clothes labels say...

Nickel45 · 14/04/2015 18:57

:) ditto to that woof.

Paintedcherryblossoms · 14/04/2015 19:00

Not ready ilove Sad but willing as I have been thoroughly privileged to spend so much time with him. He will be delivered at 7am prompt Smile

Rhubarb01 · 14/04/2015 19:12

Just signing in and marking my place! Hello thread sixteen!

Nice to have you back with us woof. I've missed the cut and thrust of your repartee with Orphan. Much as I like Poldark I tend to watch it in a different way now through tinted glasses that aren't exactly rose-coloured in fact I expect they're more of the drinking variety and Prudie's probably washed them hence the colour! I do hope that you spotted Charles Poldark attempting to emulate his - and I quote today's Radio Times here - "more potent Cousin" with the scything in the meadow. Methinks it was a not too subtle attempt to and show how awfully girly Charles was compared to his more virile and dynamic cousin - why he didn't even take off his shirt!

Looking forward to more entertaining wit from our own French and Saunders. Perhaps we should award woof and orphan a new honour for this thread - QDA - Quality Double Act! Or perhaps someone else could make a better suggestion?

cjwoofwoof · 14/04/2015 19:36

Thanks Rhu it's nice to be back but as you've already seen today, orphan has outwitted my cunning birdwatching tent disguise enabling close-up viewing of Poldarks undercarriage whilst dressed as a boulder and I'm yet again merely a spectator from afar...as usual. I've had to settle for the lank loose haired Banished Major she now no longer leers at admires, all because I need a ready supply of dried peas, sigh.

PS I think you mean Francis trying to scythe like a man, Charles was his dad, Ross's uncle, whose scything days are over as he died in Ep 4. And you're right, Francis couldn't scythe his way out of a paper bag full of fresh pilchards, poor sap. No wonder Elizabeth looks despondent.

Mumtothenipper · 14/04/2015 19:36

Thread 16! Wow!
Just took a wonder over to painted's website! I'm seriously impressed! We've been trying to get my business one going for weeks and it's become a serious brain ache... Very impressed at you pulling this all together!

nickle I wish I had got into bs42 sounds like it would have been up my street. I never seen to watch anything much anymore... I've still got the lady episode of call the midwife to watch and weeks of the good wife and suits to catch up on...
I nicked the name Farooq from some one I went to uni with. Amena means safe so I thought it was fitting. The others I just plucked from mid air!

Loved whajebs update today. So emotional, with just the right touch of banter. Love that story!

Rhubarb01 · 14/04/2015 19:53

woof clearly got Charles on the brain can't think why! I suspect old Uncle Poldark could probably have done better than poor Francis, possibly even on his death bed with leeches attached.

(Sad that it was Warren Clarke's last TV role! Loved him in Daziel and Pascoe!)

Ilovelblue · 14/04/2015 19:54

Don't forget CJ's passport Painted! Don't want any trouble at passport control. Hope you've not exhausted him either!

pixieg1rl · 14/04/2015 19:56

I'm glad that cjwoof and orphan have been reunited at last.

I agree with Orphan, Major bagofriceforalegover was not enhanced by letting his hair down. He looked a bit dodgy Chippendale tribute act....

Paintedcherryblossoms · 14/04/2015 19:58

Thanks nipper but it's mostly been drag and drop using the stuff the site supplies so quite easy really Smile

I believe CJ will be taking some quiet time to update his blog later before I help him pack his Bergen for Amsterdam Sad

Paintedcherryblossoms · 14/04/2015 20:00

Packing his Bergen could that be a new euphemism on the handbook ? Might experiment with what that could constitute before he goes to sleep Grin

cjwoofwoof · 14/04/2015 20:01

All the more lashings of 18thC Major for me then, pixie - at my age I can't afford to be too fussy over long, lank hair. Yikes even HAVING hair is a bonus in my book Grin

Paintedcherryblossoms · 14/04/2015 20:02

Passport on the bedside table Ilove will make sure he packs that too

cjwoofwoof · 14/04/2015 20:03

I'm thinking more unloading his Bergen, painted

Paintedcherryblossoms · 14/04/2015 20:09

Grin great to have you back woof you do innuendo so much better than I

cjwoofwoof · 14/04/2015 20:20

I'd certainly like to have a good look at his passport too painted Wink

Nickel45 · 14/04/2015 21:07

How long are you away for ilove. Do you have anything exciting planned for CJ to do while you are there? (no, not like that!)

Richtea19 · 14/04/2015 21:37

I've found you, I had to google the Roman numeral for 16... I wasn't paying attention at school !

orphan and woof so glad our favourite double act is back. The thought of a boulder and tent attached to bra straps is hillarous, and pixie I rolled around reading your bagofriceforalegover comment! Priceless!

orphan · 14/04/2015 21:39

Funny you should mention 'cut and thrust' rhubarb. That's what Prudey loves about Ross, but I think it was less cut and more thrust and repartee wasn't involved.

painted am so very impressed by your website. Love the blog updates. The unloading of a fully packed bergen is definitely worthy of a diary entry but perhaps should be post watershed reading.

Ilovelblue · 14/04/2015 21:59

Away till Saturday Nickel. Am sure I can find plenty to inspire CJ. He is going to see an old army pal over the border in Germany on the day we're going to the bulbfields as he has declared that "not his bag". We'll probably have at least a morning shopping so I am sure we can persuade him to carry our purchases - they won't be as heavy as a bergen, so he will find it an easy task.

In RL, my friend and I are both keen gardeners, so will be spending plenty of time on the flower market and then we are genuinely going to the bulbfields at Keukenhof which is amazing (been a couple of times in the past but not for at least 12 years). My friend has only been once and her children were quite small and not really into sightseeing, so she is looking forward to seeing Amsterdam at a more leisurely pace and doing some shopping if the mood takes us (which her husband hates so she takes advantage when he's not there).

I think it's time I went to bed: an early start is needed tomorrow morning! Night all.

xx

pixieg1rl · 14/04/2015 22:07

Any chance of sticking him on the plane to Stansted for Sunday ilove so I can have him on my actual birthday?
