That was the highlight of my stage show during my years in Amsterdam. The audience would bring jars of pickles and chutneys that they hadn't been able to open. I'm sure ilove will be able to tell us if there's anything similar on offer nowadays.

In real life however, we were chatting to somebody whilst on our canal boat ride, an American working for an airline I'd never heard of. He told us he sometimes flew into Brize Norton. My ears pricked up and I asked if he transported British service personnel from the States. He reckoned they were mainly out on exercise in Canada. I almost wanted to ask him about BA, then remembered it was RL and not OG!

PS he also claimed to have flown David Cameron out to the US from Brize too.

Nickel have already admired CJ's sights/sites on two occasions previously, so was happy to take it more sedately today.

Am very envious of all your lovely jaunts ilove. You're like the Alan Whicker of this thread but obvs don't look like him.

Where abouts are you staying in Amsterdam? I remember the Jordaan area as being really interesting. I had the best apple pie ever in a cafe there.

We're staying just behind Dam Square and the Royal Palace so very central.

Anyway lights out now. The early start and CJ have worn me out. More tomorrow. XX

Have you taken him to a stage show yet ilove, just wondered if orphans replacement is there opening more tricky jars and cans??? I had a little difficultly with some lemon curd at the weekend :)

So CJs off to the bulb fields today, good job it's bulbs and not seeds..... We don't want to go back there.

If it's a euphemism Richtea, I don't think his seeds would germinate. Past that now!

richtea I'm afraid cans weren't part of my act (other than canned fish ring pull ones or corned beef at a push ); even my specialist skills weren't up to replacing a tin opener. Audience members who brought cans were doomed to go home disappointed.

Any news on school places? So pleased mine are already at school. I hated that waiting. When my DS started, there weren't enough places in any of the three schools in our town, and the previous few years, kids were being sent upto five miles away! In the end they had to added a booster class to our school the year before, but they wouldn't say whether that would be continuing. Thankfully it did. Fingers crossed for any of you waiting to hear.

whajeb, I can't believe I missed your ff update a few days ago ... I am still not getting the emails ... well, I didn't get that one! Lovely chapter, pleased they are getting it together, and how they are together was just right. I am in complete awe of those of you who write, how you manage completely different stories, but all of them are believable and you capture Molly and CJ perfectly :) One very happy bunny here!

pixie I'm feeling your pain, waiting on youngests pre-school nursery / primary placement letter dropping through the door, phoned the council today to find out it's been delayed till end of the month despite applying pre-christmas. FFS!
