I know there's a few of you out there...

I think Connie bottled it. I don't think her personal feelings were enough to overrule her professional ethics.

It was irritating that the police were depicted as acting as if refusing to resuscitate was in itself a crime. Even the dimmest CID officer must know that doctors can't refuse to comply with a DNR.

please let Rita get her come uppance soon

Rita is annoying as hell

Rita, Connie and tess all irritate me.

Charlie seems to just live for work.

We need to see more of zoe and max and Dylan, definitely.

The courier with the blood was gorgeous!

I think the carer from the home Alfred was in has something to do with it. I reckon she thinks she doing the patients a favour.

I think the scriptwriters must subscribe to the Broadchurch school of legal research. That court scene was laughable.

But i think Alfred just died a natural death.

When Charlie was talking to Rita in his office, did he actually look at her at all? She seemed to be off to his side and he seemed to be looking forward, away from her.

Report
SoldierBear · 03/05/2015 07:46

Charlie rarely looks at the person he is talking to. his eyes slide all over the place.
Don't care about Connie. But this suddenly going off with Charlie is out of character. Not sure she would even be allowed to leave the country right now with the death unsolved. Wondering if she will stay out in Roumaniabut finding I don't care.
The staff all went from hating her to being her best friends.
Storyline has now conveniently forgotten that Cal stole from Ethan. There is no mention of the £15k, where he is living or any hint that the whole experience has made him think about his attitude at all. That degree of self absorbion/putting your head in the sand isn't realistic but is off-putting.
Why does the script have to keep finding reasons to bring Noel to centre stage? He is such a useless character. Diane seems much more professional and used to have some great lines.
Love Dylan! Sarky and brilliant a and doesn't take any crap!
Would all the staff : nurses, receptionists, porters etc really work the same shift and leave together?

Who's Diane?

Report
SoldierBear · 03/05/2015 08:31

Possibly got the wrong name there - I mean the female receptionist.

Ah, Louise Grin

Yes in mad isnt it that all the staff, both medical, clerical and support (or however they are classed) are all exactly the same.

causalty started as a night shift staff thing didn't it

causalty has been a bit meh recently, there's been veryfew of the usual build-up scenes, where we see the actual accident about to happen, and the get the ambulance and a&e follow up.

maybe they've run out of ideas for disasters!

Report
Icimoi · 03/05/2015 10:54

Yes, it did start as a night shift as an innovative new idea. So far as I remember, they only had two doctors on duty and possibly only two nurses. Was it just Charlie and Megan in the original series?

Report
SoldierBear · 03/05/2015 11:12

No, there was Duffy and an another male nurse. I think he had issues with drink or gambling - something like that. Charlie was the union rep and wore a sheepskin coat! the main doctor was Ewart Plimmer, Baz was the junior doctor and there was also Kuba the porter.

And yes - Louise, not Diane!

So to be clear,

-We get accused of murder
-Get taken to magistrates court where we make an outburst about going back to the scene of the crime and it will "all be cleared up by the end of the day"
-We are taken from court, processed in prison and treated like rubbish the whole time
-Suddenly evidence is found and brought to the investigating officer who is able to verify this all at that point in time
-A friend is able to pop along to prison and pick us up

And we are all home in time for tea!

Moln · 03/05/2015 18:56

And go abroad too.

Report
Oodear · 05/05/2015 11:53

Charlie could also leave the hospital during his shift to pick her up and get back in time for home time

I thought the whole release from prison required more-than-normal levels of disbelief suspension. It seems highly unlikely that her release could be processed that fast.

And much as I hate Connie, I think what Rita did was unforgivable - I wonder how Connie will react when she sees Rita next?

Report
Pixel · 05/05/2015 16:14

It was all utterly ridiculous. That's all there is to say really!

Report
SoupDragon · 05/05/2015 17:14

Was it actually clear how much time had passed before her release though? Obviously it looked immediate in the space of one episode, and I think the episodes normally cover one shift, but I guess it could have taken longer and thus meant Charlie had taken time off to greet her. Meh. TBH I don't much care - it's entertainment not a documentary :)

I presumed it was the same day . How when Connie has gone was Rita in charge ?

Report
Icimoi · 06/05/2015 20:53

Are we going to have some tedious episode now with Charlie and Connie in Hungary saving lives?

I shall be seriously annoyed if Connie just walks back into her job. I don't see how anyone could countenance her stealing dangerous drugs.

Report
SoldierBear · 06/05/2015 22:31

Surely it is gross misconduct?
And the BMA would be involved too, wouldn't they?

But yes, no doubt a trip to Europe is on the cards and Connie will find new meaning in life and stay there, conveniently forgetting she us even further away from her DD.
