I know there's a few of you out there...

OP posts:
Optimist1 · 09/04/2017 07:55

That was handy for Connie - she royally messed up with the child she has, offloaded Grace onto her father and hey presto there's a replacement (Hugo) she can take on!

Robin's concerns about baby Charlie - understandable, but wouldn't you pop up to the ward you've just left rather than turn to a random homeless woman in the ambulance bay for reassurance?

Thankfully very little Charlie and/or Duffy this week! Grin

DubiousCredentials · 09/04/2017 08:10

Why was Robyn hanging around A&E all day waiting for Fairhead and Duffy to finish? That was a better option than anything else? Ridiculous. And as if she'd have handed her precious newborn over to an obviously dirty stranger like that?

Louise and Jez - least convincing pairing EVER.

And the least said about Connie the better.

Auldspinster · 09/04/2017 18:33

I used to work with the real life mum of Robin's baby.

specialsubject · 10/04/2017 08:49

Yes, only a soap, but getting really silly. At least holby has Hansen. Casualty has Dylan who is the only real character but he can't carry the show.

I have met one or two like Connie, (although never quite as badly dressed) - promotion in her department is by having sex with her, her personal life is more important than her work, nothing is ever her fault (such as that car crash, racing and driving in heels) and she won't ever accept other opinions.

And yes, Robyn. How are the next 18 years going to work exactly?

Redcrayons · 10/04/2017 09:25

Casualty fans! I don't know anyone in real life who watches it, even my mum doesn't bother anymore, and she has a very low threshold for crap tv.
It is quite ridiculous though.
that tea girl one is getting on my nerves. Do they really let them just wander around chatting to patients. And Ethan he's irritating, whys he getting so shirty with Alicia? Why is some random boy going to live with Connie? and Robyn! I had a prem baby in NICU and I was twitchy about family members holding him, never mind some dirty homeless woman in a hospital car park. I know she's a nurse, so probably a bit more caring than me, but still. And wouldn't David have spent months and months undergoing treatment before going back to work?
I do like Dylan though.

zukiecat · 10/04/2017 10:36

I've watched Casualty since the very first episode, it used to be unmissable, the highlight of the week

I've nearly given up on it now, it's just got so silly

Bring back the old stuff when it was about the patients and the fun was guessing who was going to have a lovely gory accident

Pixel · 12/04/2017 14:09

Well. That was an hour of my life wasted.

Robyn's a nurse, she ought to have some idea about how to look after a baby, in particular not having it overheated. Hospitals are always warm anyway so why would you have the poor thing swaddled in so many blankets? Anyway, I once had to leave Dh alone in A&E because they said it wasn't really a good idea to be there with my 5 week old due to all the germs so hanging around just for the sake of it with a prem baby seems rather odd. As for handing her over to a raddled old woman who reeks of fags and booze, there are no words.

The whole Connie thing gets worse. Anyone else find her a bit creepy and sinister? Hugo doesn't know what he's let himself in for. And it appears the puppy has completely vanished. Perhaps Grace was only allowed to have it for Christmas day as a special treat. No wonder she's fed up!

Pixel · 12/04/2017 14:12

Also Gem. She has to pass a numeracy test but surely that's just to prove she can give the correct change and keep the till straight? I wouldn't have thought they'd be expecting her to do trigonometry and suchlike just to serve cups of tea.

Megatherium · 12/04/2017 17:49

I'm intrigued at how, in between doing a full time A&E job, Lily is overcoming significant literacy and numeracy difficulties which have evaded the efforts of numerous teachers over 11 years of full time education. They should share her methods sometime, she could clearly bring an end to dyslexia and dyscalculia at a stroke.

I was out with DS and DH on Wednesday and we saw an ambulance and a silly little tiny car parked behind it. As they drove off I thought 'That's just like Robyn's car off Casualty' and when I looked closer it was a Holby ambulance and the poor sod wedged into the back of the car was laden with filming equipment. didn't quite manage to get a photo but apparently had just missed them filming a scene with Jez and Ian. Wish I'd got there a few minutes earlier or been slightly less dim when I first clocked them, given that I live in Cardiff and recognize about 90% of the locations on the programme.

JustDanceAddict · 15/04/2017 09:54

Cimoletey Agree re Robyn in the hospital - wtf would you bring your preemie newborn in for 'fun'. One assumes she had an appointment for her, but then go home ffs!!

DubiousCredentials · 15/04/2017 12:43

She hadn't brought her in, she'd just been discharged! Which makes it even more bizarre.

Handbaghag · 15/04/2017 14:53

Yeah it's definitely losing credibility by the minute. Bring back Linda and Zoe. I loved Zoe. I miss her.

Cary2012 · 15/04/2017 22:03

Hopefully Zoe will be back when she's finished in Broadchurch!

Not quite as dire tonight, but still poor compared to the good old days, when Charlie wasn't quite as wooden, when Duffy had a spring in her step and Connie's ex was the nice guy.

morningtoncrescent62 · 15/04/2017 23:58

Tee hee, Cal and Sam squaring up to each other at the end there. I must have missed the bit when Cal didn't get his surgical rotation or whatever, because last time I paid attention, he was brown-nosing like a good 'un.

Only in Casualty-land can a group of doctors simply decide they're going to have a work to rule. No calling in the union reps, no votes, no discussion, yup, that's industrial relations at their most realistic.

emochild · 16/04/2017 07:06

Also missed him not getting his surgical rotation -must have been on Mumsnet multitasking whilst watching

Unless they just forgot to tell us so told us several times last night to make up for it?

DubiousCredentials · 16/04/2017 07:44

There was a scene in the staff room I think when Adam told him it wasn't going to happen. Boo hoo. He only decided he wanted to be a surgeon last week or something.

Who is trolling Alisha then?

emochild · 16/04/2017 09:28

Adam?

Has he returned from coronation street especially to deliver that blow? Grin

Optimist1 · 16/04/2017 09:48

Dubious, I got the impression that it was either a) a picture that Sam had taken or b) a photoshopped fake. If I'd been her I'd be focussing on the bathroom it was taken in to discover its origins!

DubiousCredentials · 16/04/2017 09:52

No idea where Adam came from Blush I meant Sam of course.

But didn't Alisha receive one of the pics when she was sat in the staff room with Sam/Cal/Ethan so I assumed it wasn't one of them? And it was def a photoshop imo.

And when I typed Sam then my phone corrected it to Adam Confused

Redcrayons · 16/04/2017 12:01

LAst night wasn't too bad.

I couldn't work out if the photos were of Alesha and they'd let the directors 7 year old do the photoshopping or if they were fake and badly photoshopped.

spiderlight · 16/04/2017 12:12

I think the whole point of it is that they're photoshopped to reflect badly on her.

Redcrayons · 16/04/2017 12:36

Ah right, I was confused because they were so badly photoshopped, especially the first one I thought they couldn't be real. But her reaction suggested that They were real. You'd think she would laughed the first one off.

Cary2012 · 16/04/2017 15:35

Could it be Grace? Photoshopping the pics? She's a daddy's girl and always hanging around A&E (like kids do, only in Casualty) and perhaps she's jealous?
