I know there's a few of you out there...

OP posts:
ButtonMooooon · 01/04/2017 22:22

I don't even know where to start. Absolute bollocks tonight

Actually I will start by hunting down and punching Ian's sister

Megatherium · 01/04/2017 22:46

Please let the booted out consultant be Connie.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 01/04/2017 22:48

The only good thing I can say about to ight's episode was that it was better than All Round To Mrs Brown's.

And yes, Gem is easily the most annoying character on the show right now - I was rooting for the snake to bite her.

ButtonMooooon · 01/04/2017 23:09

Even the costume people couldn't be bothered to go and dig out an "Observer" fleece for her so she was just in her uniform.

I work in a Hospital and am fucking sure fairly certain a volunteer can't just decide to go along for a ride on an ambulance and even more so to take her out for a second time after they said she almost killed a patient. I had hoped the storyline with her capturing the snake would make her realise her vocation and leave to be a zookeeper where she belongs

ButtonMooooon · 01/04/2017 23:39

Also I may have missed something here quite possible as I only half watch out of loyalty sometimes but how did the Internet dating guy know the daughter's address? Because even if you'd used a fake photo would you give any address out?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 01/04/2017 23:50

I don't think that was explained, ButtonMooooon. I was wondering the same thing, though.

Maybe they let the work experience kid write the script this week?

DubiousCredentials · 02/04/2017 08:00

I was hoping the snake would bite Gemma and she'd die. No such luck. At least Duffy wasn't in it last night. Or Robyn.

My main issue is Sam Strachan and his preg girlfriend in America that he seems to have forgotten about. And why the hell Alysha and Ethan give a shiny shite about Cal's feelings. He's an absolute arsehole. In real life they'd just be shagging on the quiet rather than not at all.

And yes I hope Connie is the one to go.

Optimist1 · 02/04/2017 08:10

And the mother was conducting the online romance using her daughter's name?

Gemma's jaunts in the ambulance, disregarding instructions she's been given and generally being a PITA had me reaching for the Gin . But not as much as Ian's wingman expertise ... woman who has traumatic car accident involving her own daughter, disastrous online dating experience, gets stabbed but instantly warms to awkward advances by snake man.... Gin Gin Gin

DubiousCredentials · 02/04/2017 08:20

Yes that scene with snake man trying to chat up online dating woman was beyond ridiculous. As was how quickly they joined the dots about the attacker being online dating bloke.

Megatherium · 02/04/2017 08:32

As soon as we saw the snakes I predicted it was going to be (1) a snakebite and (2) a "hilarious" bit about the snake escaping in A&E. I don't think that the fact it escaped in the ambulance instead of A&E made it any less predictable.

Still, useful to know how to capture a snake should I need to do so in future.

JustDanceAddict · 02/04/2017 10:53

Agree with all the above re last night's episode - thought the same thing re Gem being without a jacket, how did the online bloke know the address etc? And the cringy introduction of snake man to the mum - as if she hadn't just been totally screwed over.

purpleme12 · 03/04/2017 01:57

I don't mind unrealistic cos hey i know it's a programme and not real life.
But the things Gem gets away with do annoy me

emochild · 06/04/2017 19:19

Oh god -they are doing a 1hr live special featuring Duffy as the lead

I suppose it's better than the stupid new character but only just!

DubiousCredentials · 06/04/2017 20:00
Shock
Optimist1 · 06/04/2017 21:28

Shock indeed!

ButtonMooooon · 06/04/2017 22:31

Oh dear I think I'll give that episode a miss.
It's more than I can take to watch a full episode based around her

And let's face it nothing will really happen anyway

Cary2012 · 07/04/2017 11:34

Hope you don't mind me joining, have lurked for ages...

Casualty is dire, I've watched it forever, and each week it's a habit to watch it and see what's going on, hoping it will improve, but it's beyond daft.

DD is a nurse and she finds it hilarious, she says the monitors never reflect the proper readings, often the drips are all twisted and it's just an insult to proper medics. She went out with the paramedics as part of her training, and it was all scheduled with pre-training. Laughable that someone just jumped on an ambulance for a ride, like hopping on a bus. Especially someone who isn't a medic!

I think I'll stick with it a bit longer in the hope it improves. Loved it a few years ago with Michael French, Guppy et al.

DubiousCredentials · 07/04/2017 13:24

Every week I find myself saying to dh "why do I watch this utter shit?" but I find myself looking forward to it come Sat evening Blush

Pixel · 07/04/2017 21:47

I know, it's the only 'soap' I watch and I'm not even sure why, just that I somehow don't want to miss it! I now record it and watch it when Dh isn't around because I spend so much time shouting at the telly or moaning about the characters that he always asks me why I bother to watch it at all. Clearly I have no answer to such a question, although there is always one character that I like enough to carry on, currently it's Dylan. If he should leave now there wouldn't really be anyone else (maybe Ethan but he's such a drip and I guess I'm quite loyal to good old Charlie).

emochild · 08/04/2017 21:45

Absolutely no way David would be back at work that quickly!

TizzyDongue · 08/04/2017 21:48

I can't imagine not watching Casualty I've watching it for so much of my life. Though I do find myself not being particularly looking forward to it anymore.

TizzyDongue · 08/04/2017 21:49

Robin's baby is now big and out of hospital too!!

Megatherium · 08/04/2017 23:49

It's extraordinary how free and easy they are at Holby City about the staff taking their children in to work, and indeed having their relatives, friends, partners etc visiting them. Obviously they're not too bothered about whether the staff concentrate on their work or not.

OliviaBonas · 08/04/2017 23:55

Its so bad it's good!

KitKats28 · 09/04/2017 07:37

Every time I think I've seen the worst episode ever, the next one surpasses it. Last night was just beyond awful.

I keep telling myself it's only a soap, and it really doesn't matter, but I'm not sure how much more I can take! I've watched it from the very first episode, I don't want to give up on it, but it's just such total shite. 😢
