My dp actually does the washing Blush, he's freelance so is about at home more. Saying that he still insists on washing all colours together and I'm always s having to buy those colour run things.

I'm having the laziest Sunday ever, 3 night shifts followed by a bit too much alcohol last night isn't giving me much energy!!

Ilovelblue · 01/02/2015 10:39

Morning all. Quite a bit to catch up on here. Feeling at my most glamorous today: red nose and scabby coldsore. Lovely! Biting wind so no bike ride but out for a walk which will blow the rest of the germs away I hope. Need to wrap up well.

onlygirl the tension in that chapter is spot on. QS would not have been right but looking forward to it in the next instalment!

Onlygirljen · 01/02/2015 10:41

orphan although I'm cheering Murray on, I must admit that Djokovic has a glorious arse! The white shorts work nicely with it...

Richtea19 · 01/02/2015 10:43

onlygirl. I am totally absorbed in your story. I have run out of words that can say how bloody brilliant your story is. I was so engrossed, I could feel MD panic as she stood there. SO good!! It's a mini series for TV!

Thanks icemist for operation bulge photos this morning and also for the LL FB link. Very interesting to read.

We all slept in this morning, including boys, (icemist it will happen one day, and you will curse the day you can't get them out of bed).

Barbara's left the house and has been replaced by RichTea with a stonking hangover... which I "wish" would go, numerous cups of coffee needed, shame it's not in a mug gifted from BA.

Not sure I should even go there with my DH!!!! But for starters:
the inability to lift the lid of the dirty laundry basket, placing all items on top or next to.
Not to stack or unload the "wish washer"
The excuse of not putting laundry in machine, "oh I don't know how to sort the colours"!
Walking past stuff that is left on the stairs to go up.
I could go on for ever, but whats the point, I blame the MIL.

Onlygirljen · 01/02/2015 10:45

Thanks ilove. I was a bit worried it would come across as selfish, but I really hate reading fics where Molly is completely idealised, and always does the right thing. She's a young girl in a very stressful situation, so I wanted to get across how she would feel in reality. Most people seem to have agreed which is surprising me! Thought there would have been more of a negative reaction but so far only one review saying that maybe Molly isn't good enough for CJ.

Ilovelblue · 01/02/2015 10:52

onlygirl apart from anything else she's so young she won't probably have been to any funerals as yet. Her own grandmother I bet isn't even 60! You pitched it absolutely right.

You are going to carry on with your writing, aren't you? Pleeeeeeeeeaaaase.

Beingfrank · 01/02/2015 11:08

Morning all. Onlygirl, I absolutely love your story and I think you pitched Molly's emotions perfectly.

Iloveblue - the realisation that I am much closer in age to Molly's nan than to Molly has really depressed me!!

Richtea19 · 01/02/2015 11:17

ilove cover you nose and lips with Vaseline, (or if you have any eight hour cream, Elizabeth Arden, use that) and it might relieve the red and soreness.

orphan · 01/02/2015 11:21

Oh god beingfrank don't even go there! I'm clinging to the belief that I am young and attractive enough that CJ would call madly in love and lust with me and drag me off for limitless QS.

Onlygirljen · 01/02/2015 11:22

Thank you richtea and beingfrank, it's always good to know I'm not completely out on a limb with the whole thing! It still panics me greatly whenever I hit submit on a chapter!

I'm really not sure ilove. Have written two pretty long stories now, so feeling like I might be getting the hang of this creative writing lark, not to mention that I love doing it. But it is fairly exhausting, and it's safe to say that home, kids, hubby and work are all being neglected in equal measures while I write! I don't have any other particular ff ideas floating about right now, but if I do in the future, then I have no doubt that I won't be able to help myself!

apsara03 · 01/02/2015 11:59

Grr sorry for typos -BA not BT obviously!!
only girl another amazing chapter and I want to agree with whoever said your writing is a lot better than some published fiction I've read. If you did get an idea for an original story I really think you should pursue it. I've got a friend who writes.. She's uploaded chapters to a website (iI can find our what it is) which publishers read as well as people giving feedback and has also self published a children's book -apparently quite a straightforward process. I would lover to read anything else you wrote Smile

orphan · 01/02/2015 12:30

onlygirl does that mean we're not going to get a story in which Chris takes the starring role?Sad

I'm going to keep saying it, you are a truly talented writer and should look into pursuing it further. Your writing reminds me ( in the sense that l really enjoy it and feel there's a natural rhythm to it) of Mhairi McFarlane. Her books make me laugh and are a fresh take on boy meets girl etc. 'You had me at hello' is my fave.

Poor Andy Murray, but at least I can get on with the various jobs that need doing now!

icemistOBE · 01/02/2015 12:55

Started ironing after doing dishes. Helped by listening to my OG soundtrack

Just having rest before I do some more.

Loving all the ff updates, just read painteds last couple of chapters- really enjoying it. And Life After Afghan has finished too. So need to read that later

paintedcherry just read your new ff and am really enjoying it. I love a good thriller!Smile

orphan · 01/02/2015 13:02

Oh no, hope you like it icemist! I've recommended things to friends before and they've not felt the same love .... hmmm, sounding familiar perhaps? OG ring a bell? Grin

Richtea19 · 01/02/2015 13:07

I'm watching Graham Norton on catch up and Jack OConnell is on (actor, rather lovely) and they showed a picture of him with a tattoo (fake ) of hands on his backside, reminded me of our range of lingerie!!!

icemistOBE · 01/02/2015 13:10

Yes the description certainly reminded me of some OG ff.

orphan · 01/02/2015 13:25

Haha! Yes, we should diversify and do men's underwear, using CJ as our tester of course.
Jack O'Connell - wasn't he in Starred Up? Very good film but harrowing.

Speighty33 · 01/02/2015 14:06

great new chapter onlygirl. I needed to read that after attempting to bake Davina's no sugar digestive only to cut my finger open! Damn damn damn. Icemist was BA in Reign this week?

Laurielove · 01/02/2015 14:19

Hello, everyone. I'm glad my post about the unspoken rules of fan fiction writing and reading were appreciated. They are thoughts I've had for several years, but I was prompted to post now by some of the things discussed here.

Posting online is a bit like driving - we're all tucked away in our own private little online world as we are in the apparent safety of our own cars. It can lead to a distorted, unrealistic view of what we see around us, and by its nature it gives us an irrational sense of superiority and therefore makes us judgmental. (Road rage incidents occur from the same responses as online rage.) Humanity and humility are things to remember at every stage of posting online. If in doubt, wait, think, and whatever you do, don't hit 'submit'!

Hmm ... not sure why I've just come out with all that, it just happened. I've been thinking about it a lot recently. Sorry to splurge it all out here!!

I've been trying to find the fics you've been discussing as I'm keen to read them, but I'm a bit confused as to which is which as there are so many OG fics now! Could someone link to the ones written by any MNers? Thanks! Smile
