New thread in time for the new year - hopefully this year will see the back of some awful characters.

I would personally like to see the following rounded up and shoved in a deep hole in the Red Rec:

Andy did come back not that long ago and was the same actor.

I think the Street's tribute to Anne Kirkbride should be to have Deirdre's funeral with as many old characters as possible. I bet Deirdre would have had interaction with most and it would be a great way of acknowledging Anne's impact on the Street.

I am guessing that they will write Deirdre out by a sad death, it would be too weird otherwise but I don't like talking about it.

Vicky was Steve's first wife. She was Alec Gilroy's granddaughter.

Steve's first wife was Vicki, niece of Alec Gilroy. I was recently at the theatre and loads of Street cast there and they were nearly all tiny. Wonder if that is because the sets were so small?

Gosh hilda I missed Andy coming back, I must have been on holiday or something. And agree on as many old characters as poss turning up for her, a fitting tribute.

I hope the scriptwriters 'catch' the boy racers who caused the crash, and don't do a plot of pinning it all on Steve. There would be skid marks in RL, wouldn't there?

I hope they don't pin on Steve too but the others must have seen, especially Carla.

I hope that Deirdre has a funeral wherever she is in the plot, be too sad to watch it taking place in Corrie. But then a memorial could be held in the Rovers, where everyone comes back and celebrates her (all to short) life.

Maybe they should have all her old flames/husbands arrive to mourn. Oh and Dev. Hmm....cant imagine Julie would be too happy to be told he was having a fling with Deidre.

I didn't watch during the Dev-fling and I can't quite get my head round the idea of them together

Lovely idea to have a memorial in due course, for Deirdre, and hopefully some former cast members to be there.

I loved the Dev fling. She fancied him for ages and then her glee when she got him into bed 'oooooooooh Dev'. Christmas Day I think.
